Most teams are in action midweek.

None of the fixtures leap to my attention since I don't really care about the top end of the table, but I guess Bolton v Oxford and Posh/ Stevenage are big enough games in the promotion run-in.

Wigan at home for us, easy to forget they're in a slightly false position with the points deduction.

I feel like we're in a decent place at the moment but we just need to keep crawling our way to safety, would be great if we were over the 50 point mark (currently 6 short) by the Tinpot final on April 7.

Be interesting to see if we can fill the bench on Tuesday. Current first team injuries totally 11 first teamers. No fit LB and down to 2 fit natural CMs

What did Burton fans think of Conor Shaughnessy? Arrived to virtually no fanfare when he signed for us but is in the running for our player of the season. Consistently performed all season and scored a couple of very important goals too.

Not fussed really and probably the first league game I wont have bothered with when on ifollow. Our season is over and at present failure to win makes it 3 wins in 6 months... not to mention a club record winless run is on the horizon which I fully expect us to achieve in the coming weeks.

Match Report I can do now...

We will start fast but give away a set piece 5-10 minutes in which we will concede from in comical fashion, we will have a 15 minute spell where we give it a go and either create little or miss a sitter, second half we will concede soon after from a defensive error before the games peters out, possibly concede a third late on.

Exeter at home.

After a big three points on Saturday, we head into this game with a lot less pressure riding on the outcome. A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world with Carlisle to come at home on Saturday, but a win should all but secure our safety.

Hopefully we start the same team as we did on the weekend but after hearing there’s a lot of sore and broken bodies, I think we’ll make two or three changes.

Think we’ll have enough on home soil against a relegation rival…

Salop 1-0 Exeter

Yet again this is a Tuesday night game, still haven't been to the 'new' ground though it will never beat Gay Meadow anyway.
Carry on like we played in the second half on Saturday and we should win this, worrying to see a few limp off though, and Cox looked exhausted.
Still we should get something, Shrews were awful at our place and we've kicked on since then.

No stadium in the whole of the UK will ever beat the Gay Meadow. Picturesque town centre location, surrounded by pubs and bars, river running behind the Riverside stand and of course the quirky away end which was the last stand in England to use a metal fence to keep away fans enclosed. No words can describe how much I miss that place!

Come on Oxford. If you raise your game like you did at FP then you'll beat Bolton - fingers crossed

Defeat....on to the next one. Another game that it's pointless to even play. The result is already a formality.

I am not bothered one bit which I am not in the minority on, the apathy at the moment is alarming but its sucked the life out of the fans at the minute. Its a dead rubber, probably wont bother paying a tenner to watch it, I will go Burton as its a decent away day and down the road for me, will still go home games more out of "feeling I have to" but I am bored stiff and just want next season to start now so we can try and put this right, as it stands now its a glorified friendly in terms of games left really and may as well experiment and try some of the kids ahead of seeing who could be useful next season in L2.

I walked out the ground on Saturday with relegation all but confirmed and didn't really feel arsed, it was more "meh".

Cambridge at home.

We're playing well at the minute, only 3 (or is it 4?!) conceded in 11 games and are starting to look a very well coached side in both defensively and attacking rather than just the former and the passiveness and risk averse nature of a Kennedy side is departing the squad.

It'll be difficult for Skubala not to play Moylan after his super-sub appearance at the weekend but if Bishop is back after missing the weekend, that gives us two central midfielders rather than the one we had on Saturday.

Tricky ties for Oxford, Blackpool and Stevenage this week so this is a great chance to make some ground up.

Pompey away.
We used to have a good record here - won 3-2 I recall on a Tuesday night and had a draw one season. However that was when we were good. Can only see a 2-0 defeat.
We played better Saturday against Peterborough and we at least tried as MP acknowledged the fans were sick of the anti football - no attacking policies. He says he is working with what he has got but that’s bollocks, we have about 7 strikers.
Lose this and we are perilously close to getting caught by Cheltenham if they can win a game or two.
Vale and Cheltenham at home will define our season.

We’re struggling for goals right now, Wellens has said our attacking players are struggling with injuries and fatigue which is impacting our play in the final third. This is partly true, but what we have available to us also needs to do better. On Saturday at Wigan for 40mins we was on top but didn’t make it count.

I’d imagine we will dominate the ball against Port Vale and it will simply depend on if we can score early, otherwise we will open ourselves up to another poor result.

The away end toilets at Gay Meadow scarred a mate of mine for life

The 3-2 was the Covid season, wasn't it? I know we scraped a 1-0 last season at the death but I'd take that again this time if need be. This is one of two "easy" fixtures we have remaining (Shrewsbury at home being the other) so we can't be dropping points here with three of the next four games being against Peterborough, Barnsley and Derby.

You will certainly get the early goal! Probably from a corner!

You won't have a more comfortable win all season. You'll score at least 1 without even having to be good. We might huff and puff a bit but then inevitably concede another. You outplayed us second half the other week, don't see any different this time.

Sorry for the other teams scrapping down the bottom, but we are more than likely to give Fleetwood 3 points tomorrow night. We have done that for most of you so it does balance out...:bg:

Don't be so sure, I expect a tough game, we have to win it's as simple as that, the trouble is it's never simple. Because we are in a decent run I think we can get the 3 points as we continue to try and claw our way out of the bottom

Mousinho reckons Lang is 50/50 for tomorrow and it was an impact injury rather than any ankle ligament damage. Probably won't rest him regardless, or put him on the bench v Burton. Rather he be fresh for Peterborough away

Shrews away, randomly, one of my favoured away days, but due to the other half being pregnant, money is a bit tight at the moment, so wont be going... Will watch on iFollow, though.

As Denzel said, play the way we did second half on Saturday, we'll be fine. Would take a point though.
Like Shrews though, a game that could be construed as 'easier' on Saturday, with Burton (H), so a point here, win on Saturday should see us all but safe imo.

We have arguably our best player Luke Thomas out injured for a month and most experienced CB James Wilson suspended along with Jack Hunt also injured from the defence. The back line will be really youthful!
Think too many of our players know they wont be here next season and its showing even more with nothing really to play for.
We have to face a lot of sides down the bottom so we will play a big part in who stays up

Can't remember the last time we beat Cambridge at home, it's nearly always 0 0 or 1 1, last season was one dullest games I've ever seen!

Also, have just seen that the referee tomorrow is the same one who sent off Aimson away at Charlton because Alfie May is a cheat, so lump on a Shrewsbury win.
