It sounds like Webster is off to Brighton for £20M plus. :(
Time for us to go shopping again I guess.

Nixon said we are signing a “big” midfielder from abroad. Pretty sure it’s John Bostock. No idea if he’s any good anymore.

Actually no idea if he was ever any good!

Good fee, but like us it’s a shitty time to lose your best players.

DJ to Wigan for £1.5m doing the rounds. Double it for me.

Baffled, I really am.

Not a particularly key player due to his inconsistent form but certainly a good Championship player who can pop up with a game changing moment. What can you really do with £1.5m these days? He'll be a top earner with his new deal last year but guarantee we won't replace him with a ready made replacement.

Clearly Hemmings taking the money, rather than Alex Neil wanting to move him on.

We’ve just signed Joe Williams for somewhere between 1-1.5m who plays in the same position, so that’s either bollocks or not happening now.

DJ is nothing like Williams.

Both play the same position though?

Unless Williams is a Morsy replacement...in which case I might just throw myself into that canal by the ground.

That's like comparing Xavi and Roy Keane because they both were central midfielders mate, they're still nothing alike.

Lee Tomlin? Wales is kind of 'abroad' and he's pretty big.

Cook played him behind the striker at Chesterfield, I still think that's his best position even though he's played there about twice since we were promoted.

Jacob Butterfield signs for Luton Town.

Still no RB. And still a sign that Crainie will end up there on Friday.

Pissed about the news on Webster and not an ideal time with the season days away. Not only that but the likely replacements have been snapped up already leaving us with very few options.

Didn’t like Brighton in 2004, and still don’t like the c***.

So he could be a Powell replacement. Well I’d take him for 1.5m over Lowe for 3m. Just feels like we’re being linked with all of Cook’s old players for the sake of it. We were supposedly in for Darikwa two weeks ago.

Butterfield seems a pretty meh signing. Got very poor reviews from previous clubs and was in a pretty bad Bradford side last season as well. Likely means Cranie playing right back as well which I dont particularly like the look of judging from Saturday.

Think we are in danger of going too far down the route of bringing in players with "championship experience" as well. Thats all well and good and solid thinking but the pendulum seems to be swinging a little too far the other way for me.

Bar the keeper we arent breaking the bank for any of these though so if we do go down we should be ok financially at least.

Butterfield finally gone. :ohm: That's the 10 million pounds worth of panic buys from 2015 both out the door this summer for a total of £0 income. Sound that.

Hope he does alright at Luton tbf, got a rough ride here after a decent first season. Hasn't performed anywhere he's been out on loan but a fresh start will be good for him.

Another 20k of wages freed up, can we sign somebody now please.

20M though for a Championship centre back, fucking hell.
Plus add ons is the rumoured fee Liam. No idea how big those add ons are but I would imagine they're quite substantial (£5M by all accounts according to the Guardian).
To be fair to him, our CEO is a smug bastard but he doesn't half get us cracking deals.

LEP saying you tried to take Johnson on loan and we said no, could be old news and you've made a bid.

No idea whats in store this week for us.

Earl & Moult linked with loan moves away too.
