For most, this is FA Cup first round weekend but for the lucky few it is a weekend to focus on the bigger picture and the league and in turn saving an extra midweek game later in the season. The mammoth fixture list in the National League consists of:

Forest Green vs Aldershot
North Ferriby vs Wrexham

Wrexham should beat North Ferriby comfortably and will end up back in the top half if they do. In the other game we go to Forest Green who thumped us 4-0 less than four weeks ago. We'll probably create about 20 chances as we have done in our last 3 games but since Charlie Walker is about the only player capable of hitting a barn door, we'll probably miss them all and Forest Green will punish us for it, as Dagenham did last week.

Argh didn't notice this thread before I just created another..!

Our game vs NFU has all the makings of a low scoring affair, just to keep us ticking over I would be happy with any sort of win.

We're scoring two goals a game and conceding two goals a game under Keates. A bit sloppy at the back, but finding some form up front.

There will be goals.

On the way to Ecoland, hope our defenders are on form today!

I can't imagine that we would ever lose to something called North Ferriby, expecting a big win.

They can defend mate, as we found out. They will be looking for a point from kick off, sitting deep and taking ages over every stop in play, you need to score early so your lads dont get frustrated and start to panic

0-0 with North Ferriby

Least we can concentrate on the FA Trophy now, thankfully.

I'm furious. Equalise in the last minute for what was a deserved away performance and then throw it away. Unbelievable!

We did not deserve that. First half we weren't great, but so much better second half and a draw would've been a fair result.
Home support was pathetic from an embarrassment of a club. Top of the league and can only get 1400, whats the point? Just so frustrating losing to a club built solely on money

We created a fair few chances, time and again whipped crosses that our forwards could just not quite stretch to get on the end of at the back post. But we never had control of the game and the Shots came back at us well in the 2nd half and a draw would not have been an unfair result. But I think we just (just) about deserved the win.

Why be so bitter and nasty? There is no need for that. So you get a few hundred more home fans to your games and that means our club is an embarrassment? We've got really decent people that support our club, we've never had a arrest in over 125 years, yes they're not the most vociferous but many are of advanced years because of where we are situated, it doesn't make them pathetic. Grow up.

Haha. Easiest 6 points we'll take off a side this year. Men vs boys today. You do have to feel for a team that has Scott fucking Rendall as their main man.

We have a proud history thanks.

You are on track for a really good mid table finish, incredible heights for a club such as Aldershot.

Once again, thanks for the 6 points.

Bit harsh? I just thought your support was very poor today, considering you're top of the league. But maybe my comments were a bit out of line, I apologise, just very very frustrated.
In terms of the football:
It was a decent game, like I said first half you were much better than us but we more than deserved a point from our second half performance. We really need a goalscorer, McClure should have scored that 1-on-1 in the second half. Missing so many chances is going to cost us massively this season.
How come Marsh-Brown doesn't start for you? He was best player on the pitch when he came on. Thought your LB was solid (#17) and Doidge was good as well.

You had quite a few chances, but Allen (first half) and McClure (2nd half) missed absolute sitters. I think you will win the league and at our place destroyed us, but thought we competed well today. I'm just really frustrated because we should have had a point today given how late we equalised.

Hey, don't be harsh to other FGR fans on here who are decent posters!!

In all seriousness..

Tough game, wasn't pretty and aldershot probably deserved a point. Sat with your directors who had a similar view.

I think you'll make play offs. As for the title, 3 way battle between FGR,Tranmere and Lincoln imo.

Shaping up to be a good season.

Good on Forest Green as far as I'm concerned. Modern day football, even at this level, is beginning to become orientated by money and clubs are having to evolve to stay afloat and able to compete, regardless of attendence. FGR have a long non-league history. Since, I've been supporting the Daggers, I've enjoyed our matches with them in the Conference and they've always been a very nice, welcoming club. If they go up, fair play to them.

Result that puts Forest Green in a strong position. Good way to go, but points on the board are always better.

Lincoln are excellent value at 8/1 for the title, I lumped on last week. Forest Green have a minefield of fixtures leading up to the new year think they've got something like 8 of the top 10 so if they're still top by the new year I think they'll go on and win it. Crying shame Aldershot couldn't hold on, goals like that could be the difference

I'm sure this forum, is becoming a lets bash forest green forum, if truth be told , we would all take a big backer for the club that wee follow and love, whoever wins the league at the end of the season, will do it because there the best in our league end of, and if it is f green, fair play, I've been there 5 times now and always had a good crack , good set of lads and a loyal fan base, such as we have , some of the ex league clubs need to get of their high horses

not sure about the excellent value there... I think we are better value at 16/1 or 20/1

Not sure what to make after yesterday, thought we were worth a point, but can have no complaints that we didn't get it on the balance of play. We started very well and for the first quarter of an hour were the better team but FGR scoring a bit against the run of play knocked the wind out of sails and FGR dominated the rest of the half. Annoyed at the goal, should have been defended but Will Evans chose to stand waving his arms about rather than track Diodge. Second half we were far stronger and were as good a team as FGR, and deservedly got an equalizer with probably the best move of the game. To then lose the game in 90+3 to more weak defending was galling.

So we've played both the top two in the last 10 days and come up agonizingly short in both games, losing both to late goals. Shows where we are, and if we needed further evidence, got Lincoln next. We will know what we need to do to make the playoffs after that.

As always, our visit to TNL was a good one, the beer in the Village Inn was excellent again, and as usual the welcome we received in the Green Man was as warm as the beer. Just one whinge, why, when another of our dickheads decided to let off a flare, did the steward have to walk the entire length of the stand with it filling to whole stand with smoke, rather than dump it in the fire bucket next to him?

Will miss going there next year, because in true ChrisFGR style, FGR are HEAD AND SHOULDERS above anything else I've seen in this league for a very long time, and if Cooper fails to get them up, he should not only be fired, but never allowed to work in football again.

Realistically though Barrow are gunna be scrapping it out with the likes of Dover for 5th place you won't be anywhere near the top 3 come April, hence the generous odds
