I actually preferred Colley out of our non scoring released strikers from last season - Gonzales also made a hash of his loan spell at Salford - even for a footballer he seemed unbelievably dim.

Looks like Ross could be one of the players already signed, hopefully an upgrade on Morton.

Is Ross one of the players you were told off the record?

What's happening at NFU these days? I thought the backers had really scaled back/gone. If that is the case I really hope they can win the final.
If not the owners of both NFU and Fylde should just play one all in blind poker hand to decided who goes up.

Hope Fylde stay in the Conf North and continue to have 400 fans rattling about in a 6,000-seater, £18 million stadium. Such a pointless endeavour.

I believe the Allam family were involved but have scaled back and put the club up for sale.

His Daughter has always has 'control' because Assem isn't allowed to have a direct controlling interest in two Clubs. The other one obviously being Hull.

interesting, good luck to them in the final then if they have scaled back. Wonder if they would up the investment again if they got promoted?

Yeah it was his daughter and son in law but the club is up for sale and they reduced their funding by quite a substantial amount.

Definitely reduced it but I'm not sure in the end it was substantially - they kept pretty much the same squad.

Fylde or North Ferriby? That's like asking who you'd like to go up out of Eastleigh and Forest Green.

Boston vs. Furby highlights:

Appalling goals to concede. Can't help but feel it strange that you only see a handful celebrating behind the nets each time.

Very happy to make the final. I think NF will be favourites and will be very comfident to win at home too.

Really hope it happends this season, but can see most want us to not. You just want to visit the nice new shiny ground.

Never got round to congratulate Solihull on winning the tittle. Totally deserved.

With 1384 there today, I honestly think we can start getting regular crowds towards the 1000 mark in the new statdium and going up would help. Will be great to have the team back to kirkham and wesham where we will benefit.

From a personal perspective it's the final I wanted. Harrogate will be a derby game and a great weekend game for our fans next season. Boston are a reminder of our old league 2 days.

Agreed, some fine establishments in Harrogant and rather amusing citizens. I hope we don't get children chanting "We pay your benefits" at us this time around, though.

Glad we'll visit York Street one last time too. What a ground. It'd be a good one for a crucial weekend encounter.

If you go up Blackpool might end up as the 3rd highest ranked team in the area within 1-2 years and that just not allowed - sorry ;)

We got slowly strangled to death. As soon as our lead was wiped out in 15 minutes the writing was on the wall. Never got going, looked a shadow of the vibrant team from Wednesday night. Seems like I'm destined never to leave Ferriby satisfied with the result

I see Gainsborough have announced their retained list and Marc Newsham is to leave? Will he return to Boston? Or did he leave on bad terms?

Spent most of the season injured I think. Certainly didn't seem to make much of an impact there.

Hope AFC Fylde get promoted, least they spend money on both players and a new ground unlike country yokels North Ferriby's whose ground clearly isn't up to standard. How on earth the Conference are even letting them play in play offs is a joke.

Especially when you think of previous cases. e.g. Eastwood Town

We signed Chorley RB Mark Ross today and now their manager has accused us of making illegal approaches to four of their players, Sam Ashton, who openly has said he doesn't like us rejected us, James Dean and Courtney Meppen Walter

I'm not sure how we have tapped up anyone considering they were all in their last 6 months of their contract when we spoke to them.

I think we can do better than Dean, I saw him play for Ashton a few times towards the end of the season and Evo-Stik looks his level - I would happily take Courtney-Meppen though.

I think the Courtney-Meppen deal has been done.

Yep I got that impression, hopefully we have passed on Dean, hence why we are looking at Odejayi as a back up striker.

Ross was the only one out of the four that I knew we were after though I did hear we were potentially interested in a few other names from Chorley that haven't come out yet - Jansen will be fuming if we end up with three or four.

Well it has come out that Ashton has rejected us, he has openly said he doesn't like us anyway, so unless the other 2 haven't signed, why would he complain?

According to the MEN correspondent the first time the club heard of this was when the mighty Chorley Guardian broke the story.

I really hope this isn't sour grapes in a way because it's a sign of a pathetic club and manager to make allegations like this over losing players he wanted to keep.

Because we tried to take four (possibly more) of his players.

Dean only scored one goal for Chorley and was sent out on loan to Ashton United, I doubt they want to keep him anyway.
