We rake up the rubber crumb regularly and I believe Sutton water theirs before use. Like grass, it's not maintenance free. A club near us, Ashford, may need to replace theirs because it was so poorly installed.

Brutal isn't it? I once had a graze like that from coming off my bike and I whimpered like a little girl every time I knocked it or tried to bend my knee.

I think the problem here was that they didn't water it as they should have. I'm still not a fan, but I do understand the benefits.

I saw our match at Sutton Coldfield in the FA Cup or the Trophy, and it was the worst plastic pitch I've ever seen - the ball would just randomly kick up for no reason. Our goal was a shot through the keeper's legs that somehow looped over his head.

Well he did say it took a funky bounce off the pitch!

I've never noticed any uneven bounces on our surface, nor any burns like that rugby player. Maintenance and water is key.

Maidstone aren't exactly Brazil, but the football has been entertaining recently. You'd have hated our promotion side last year with numerous 1-0 wins.

A club near us, Ashford, may need to replace theirs because it was so poorly installed.

They did a right bodge job of it by installing it themselves, mainly because they didnt wanna pay the professionals to do it. Funny really considering they've now gotta pay 250k to get it fixed/replaced.
