In fairness to Appy, you’d have though he’ll sort you guys out in the summer. With us he nipped problems in the bud at the earliest opportunity and quietly parted ways with those with no future.
Been here a while now (September 2019) it's his team, he's signed all them, they're his players.
He sorted us out in the summer of 2020 and we nearly went up as you know but recruitment was poor this summer IMHO while he was being treated for cancer.
Too many coast through games
18 home games and 4 wins.
We've lost to far too many teams around us.

Its certainly not looking good but theres still games to play. Despite all those losses against teams around us, it'll be typical us getting a result against a team where we are the underdog!

Wouldn't it just!
Teams that don't close us down we generally do better against, best I've seen us this season was against Oxford.

Amazing the difference a week makes! A massive win for us, Shrewsbury are making themselves hard to beat, Charlton will do enough to survive. It's as you were at the bottom for the rest. Donny vs Gillingham a massive game next weekend.

It's got to the point now I'm looking at the league tables and plotting for the best case scenario for league 2 next season, so I'm hoping Stockport and Wrexham come up, Oldham stay up and Stevenage go down, Port Vale and Tranmere stay in league 2, Forest Green, Exeter, Newport and Northampton/Swindon can go up. That just leaves who's coming down with us, I'm not that bothered really, my only request is Gillingham stay up.

I fully expected a Morecambe home win on Saturday. Theyve got a tough run in!

Fleetwood seem to put themselves in good positions and then throw it away, Gillingham you wouldnt bet against them staying up with Harris and the January signings. Will AFC Wimbledon win again? They certainly were the better side, but seeing Palmer go with no real replacement when you are battling relegation is a massive faux pas.

For what its worth, i cant see past Crewe, Donny and Morecambe, then maybe its time for AFC Wimbledon?

4 from the current bottom 6 would be the logical choice.
Gillingham are getting results at the right time to give themselves every chance of staying up.

Thank god we had a new manager bounce in November. We’d be cut adrift now.

I’ve had a look at the runs in and we only play two teams in the bottom half (fleetwood and Cheltenham), still have to play most of those challenging at the top and then rotherham on the final day. We’ve done exceptionally well to pull ourselves back in to it, but it’ll still be a miracle if we stay up.

Edit: forgot about Charlton, we play them tomorrow night too

Horrible results for those in the bottom 6 playing tonight. 3 losses, have Morecambe thrown in the towel? Wasn't expecting that. Then Fleetwood concede yet another late goal. Now an 8 point gap between the relegation zone/ bottom 6, and us. Gillingham and Morecambe with the toughest run in's...Fleetwood vs Donny on Saturday is another big game!

Yes the results were good for us too. Although we’re not in the group of teams you have, we don’t see many more points coming our way so we have one eye on what we everyone below us is doing.

The gap is now twelve points with eight games left for Morecambe (21st) which I think is enough barring some ridiculous results coming up. It’s going to be a low total this season. We have 45 but I reckon the safe line will be around 42-43 points now.

It’s incredible how poor the bottom 6 are.

We’ve just won our first game in 8 games, 6 of those being defeats. At the start of that run we were 9 points clear, we’re now 10

In some ways I’m not all that surprised. Wimbledon earlier in the season weren’t that bad and I don’t think Crewe (whilst not brilliant) were far from the worst side we have played this season.

The rest however are/were genuinely appalling. Quite how they got themselves in such a mess is quite something.

Poor management decisions, poor direction from the top but we have had 7 first team players missing virtually all season which doesn’t help, I’m not saying it would have made much of a difference as we will never know but it is a factor

Sounds it. Poor direction would be an understatement. It takes some work to fall so quickly!

I suppose this season we could argue similar on the injury front. We currently have long-term absentees in Gorrin, Moore, Baldock, Browne, Henry, Hanson (I think I may be forgetting others) out. Hanson whilst expensive is utterly useless but was at least bought in initially as a key player. The rest would when fit be starting.

If the above across previous campaigns happened it would have seriously rocked our playoff challenge. The difference this season being players have stood up as replacements. I think that has been critical. Simply put, everyone is pulling in the right direction.

It's a good job we have a decent record against the teams in the top half as our record against is shocking!
Our win Wimbledon on Saturday was our first away win at on the bottom 6 this season.
We've only beaten Morecambe and Fleetwood at home and a couple of draws at Gillingham and Doncaster.
We haven't even scored against Donny in two goes and both Doncaster and Gillingham beat us to nil at home.

Well what can I say 18 or is it 19 league games without a win!! I've lost count to be honest. If we had a half decent forward we would probably be ok.Selling Ollie Palmer to Wrexham will probably result in relegation for us .It all comes back to money unfortunately. We owe millions on the stadium which obviously affects our playing budget.

It's looking like 4 from 6 now, given the run ins for Gillingham and Morecambe I cant see them making up the points to catch Lincoln and Shrewsbury (famous last words). Morecambe looked devoid of any confidence once we went ahead last night, and then almost gave up once the third went in.

Wimbledon need to find that elusive win soon and Fleetwood need to stop conceding late goals. How's Cosgrove playing Dons fans? Noticed he's not scored yet. Hopefully he's putting more effort in for you than he did for us this season.

I'm going for Crewe, Doncaster, Morecambe and Wimbledon for the drop.

As Shrewsbury fans told us Cosgrove is poor.He didn't play last Saturday due to a back problem..In his defence all I would say about him is that he doesn't get a lot of service .
As for us going down I think we will.I just can't see us winning a game at the moment.

Whilst we’ve improved a lot defensively and we’re not regularly shipping 3+ goals, our run in is pretty terrible. I can’t see where we’re going to pick up enough points to overtake anyone ahead of us, sadly. We should have nicked a point last night, and if not for a goalkeeping blunder we might have done, but once we’re behind in a game we really lack anything up front to get back in to it.

I think we're almost at the stage where we don't have to worry about relegation - which was certainly not the case a few weeks ago. A good week for us - 6 points, 8 goals for, none against and an away win agains the top of the table side.

Yep no complaints from me.

Even before the sending off we were struggling to get a grip on the game.

I get that Warne wanted to give a few players a rest but to me you are better off starting your best players and giving them a rest when the game is won.

I don't know if Angus deserved to be sent off, (where I was sat I never saw anything wrong) but he has been poor since he came back into the team.
He also had Edmonds Green playing when he is barely fit since coming back from his bad injury.

He has to play Woody against Shrewsbury for god's sake, given his goalscoring record against them from set peices. Harding needs to come back in, I have no idea why he isn't starting TBH. Icky or even Mattock can do a better job than Angus.

Ogbene and Miller are our best 2 wingbacks by some distance, they must start.

Kayode looked like what he is yesterday, a young kid not ready for the first team. We haven't got anyone else to replace Ladapo and Grigg so just bolster midfield with Lindsay for better protection and get the wing backs higher up the pitch to support Smith.

I'm a big Warne fan and he has done a good job to get us where we are, but sometimes his thinking totally baffles me and judging by the reaction yesterday, many others too.

Thankfully we have a 2 week rest I'm staying away from Twitter and FB for its entirety otherwise I will top myself.

Wimbledon parted company with Robinson today! Be interesting to see what they can do in the final 7.

Wow.
Four points between them from a combined 30 games.
Long May it continue!

I should be careful what I’m saying here as we play Wimbledon next week but there doesn’t look to be an ounce of fight in any of them.

Doncaster were hopeless on Saturday and could have lost 4 or 5 nil if we had been more clinical and they’re the ones who’ve got half of those 4 points!

That is so utterly dire. I have never seen a set of results like that before. The difference between the bottom few and the rest of the league is nuts.
