BELT's go into meltdown as we ROMP TO THE TITLE playing TOTAL FOOTBALL.

Coops to win manager of the year,
KMB player of the year.
our new star striker (whoever that is) to win the golden boot.
Adam Virgo and Alan Alger take a running jump.

Hopefully.

We'll also get thrashed at Macc and lose to Woking as usual

whats your honest belief on the season ahead? do you think you will be challenging for the title? i really dont know what to expect from your squad as i know little about the players.

Yes.

We finished 2nd last year, head and shoulders above everyone else and have kept our best players and added some pretty decent signings, especially in midfield. Noble and Traore should be too good for this league.

And most importantly, we've now finally got a top class manager with a proper plan.

.

You were not head and shoulders above us mate, we totally outclassed you at your place so you resorted to kicking us at ours!!

But yes you will be right up there

FGR have retained most of the 1st team squad from last season less David Pipe (who had become a periphery player) and J Jennings (who moved to Cheltenham).
Fair few youngsters been brought in plus two 1st team players from the football league.
To be truthful I'm more optimistic at this time of season than I was at same stage last season. Yes FGR won first nine games but that became a millstone because some of those wins were fortunate with large doses of good luck.
As Chris has already stated FGR have a new and experienced Conference manager who is more attacking minded than Ady Pennock. But in Ady's defence he did keep FGR in play off position for entire season. Coops has a very high standard to achieve which I'm sure he will do.

I was at both games and didn't quite see it as you describe but will admit that Tranmere were better side on both occasions.

Nah not head and shoulders above - - just the 4 places and 11 points ahead.

No Mark was right. Tranmere destroyed us in the first game and we were terrible and pretty dirty in the second.

It's sweet that Chris seems to assume that the losing play off finalist will win the league the following season.

Has that ever happened?

Barrow to finish higher than 11th and put 6+ goals into a team on a windy wet Tuesday night at Holker Street whilst fielding a team of 11 6'0"+ players...
Forest Green to make the play offs and fail to get promoted again
Ashley Grimes to score 10+ goals for Southport by Xmas - and 11+ by the end of the season.
Wrexham to under achieve again.
Tranmere to be top 5 somewhere.
Richard Brodie to spit his dummy out and get sent off against one (or more) of his previous clubs
Matt Rhead to win weightwatchers slimmer of the year....

People always seem to think the league is going to be exactly the same strength again too, when in reality the league was very weak last season. I expect it to be much stronger this season.

Why? Tranmere have made a couple of good signings, but they had a very decent side on paper last season as well, with Brabin in charge will they really be that much stronger? Eastleigh have added a few as well, and should do better then last year, but still have an inexperienced manager and look short of goals to challenge for the title.

Dagenham have a top manager but not sure they're financially strong enough to build a title challenging squad. Same goes for Wrexham, Lincoln and Aldershot.

Braintree and Dover have lost key players, and imo will struggle to replicate last seasons form.

Out of all the teams we've got by far the least improving to do to win the title, with the bulk of the squad that got just short of 90 points being retained. We've added/will add even more quality to that plus we now finally have a top coaching set up. We will also now have the ability to add quality players whenever we need to during the season with the transfer window gone. It's tough to see past us.

I think teams who didn't do well last year will challenge a lot more this season and be tougher to beat. Teams like Lincoln, Aldershot and maybe Barrow & Torquay to be closer to the play offs. I predict the teams that have come up this year will be stronger than last seasons. I don't know about Dagenham but they've got the manager, albeit with a much smaller budget than he would have had at his disposal when he was last down here. And finally I'm also hopeful that we'll be much improved this season providing we can build a team on AND off the pitch.

Us to get 6 points from Jester by wider margins than last season and us not to get enough tickets for the game at the Deva while the home stands are half empty.

Don't blame us for that, blame Cheshire (useless) Police

Oh believe me buddy that is exactly who I blame for it. The ratio of 1 copper per 10 fans that we saw at the Deva last season was beyond a joke. Our police liason officer told me it was the most over the top policing operation he had ever seen.

Unlike most Wrexham fans I'm not seeing this as a play-offs or bust season for Mills. He probably should be getting in the play offs as that was the 2 year plan, but I just want to see us play like a team and fight for every ball. I want to be entertained and impressed by how badly the players want to win. Too many games last season you could see the players had lost the fight and some just gave up when things were not going our way. I want to see the signs that Mills has built a really good side and from what I've seen and heard recently, we have lots of pace, strength, ability and what looks like a really strong defence, all the factors needed for a good side, but they need to show it.
