That second half was utterly dire - second best to Macclesfield in every way. We just lost our heads completely, and Macc didn't give us a chance to regain our composure. Deserved win for the home side.

As for us, we're not going to win the league or promotion unless we massively improve. We have had the rub of the green with some of the results since Mellon arrived, and how we have the best defensive record in the league I have no idea - some of the stuff we do is terrifying.

Must do better, Tranmere!

Made up for Lincoln, good to see another of the great and historic Football League clubs on their way back to where they belong. Bet the authorities are made up too, last thing theyd want to see is another pile of Tin Pot shit buying a place in the elite divisions. Keep it going boys. :bdick:

Pressure on us tomorrow. Whatever makeshift team we put out, we simply have to win

Clinical performance from Dover, they're looking good. Maidstone really are quite shit though.

Maidstone are not a bad side but lack a decent striker. Would not be in the position had they signed one. Dover will do well to hold onto their front three if they lose them to vultures it will cost them a play off spot.

Got that right this league is shocking. 38 goals from 9 games says all you need to know about defenders at this level.

That basically sums up our season. If we could finish, we'd be fine.
That said, it looked like a stonewall pen on Yemi at 1-2 that the disgrace of a ref ignored, score that and it's a totally different game.
Fair play to Dover though, they're everything we're not - well-drilled, clinical and cynical. Hope they go up, they're a decent bunch apart from Parmenter.

Quite simply THE worst official I have ever witnessed. Had a mare today, seemed to give us evey decision first half and Lincoln second half.
Looking forward to the highlights as I didn't think it was a penalty against us but was looking through the net so may have missed something. Thought Boyes poked the ball past the defender in the Lincoln box and was then tripped yet the ref gave him a second yellow and sent him off. Ref was warning players about blocking at set pieces yet failed to give the free kick when Lincoln did exactly that for their second goal.
I can see why Locky and Danny Lowe were so angry but should have kept their cool rather than see red - literally!
Plenty of reasons to be positive about our future in this league after the last few games though as we are improving every week.

Our sorry excuses upfront couldn't score in a bloody brothel :ffs:
Its been a problem for us for 2 seasons now, yet our manager has done nothing to sort it out....signing youngsters who were released by league clubs in the summer is not the answer to our problems.

That's four tough games you've given us this season. Pleased to get you out of the way!

Score five and we still can't win, and Torquay will say the same. Their early goals came from decent early balls in barely defended, then Ethan made good ground to score his on goal and Sam watched a free kick into the corner seeming to think it was going wide. Well placed anyway so maybe he'd not have got to it if he tried. Shame as we opened the 1.50-a-goal fest with a really good move well finished by Keanu and I thought we might be back in form. Mullings still seemed off it though our Twitter seemed to suggest he had a couple of close attempts I must have missed. As has been said, you don't contend for the title defending like that.
ETA Reading our forum seems Shamir poked the final equaliser in although it was given as an own goal for their GK Moore, so at least he's getting up there.

Hi Steve,
The ref was terrible no doubt and agree about the first half all the free kicks you got and really thought you were going to do a number on us again.
Boyes made a real meal of going over hence the second yellow, it was right in front of us in kids bit and right in front of the ref, from my angle I wasn't sure it was inside in the area for our pen.
Think the ref was never in control and lost patience with your time wasting and some of your players like Lowe telling what do and one of my mates who was further down the stand said had already told him to be quiet before he gave the 2nd yellow but kept moaning.
Pleased we got there in the end and you guys will stay up IF we press on when on top like you were in the first half.

Difficult to win the league when you're a little bit dodgy at the back.

We are good going forward though.

Season in microcosm. Play well, don't take chances, concede goal. Then another the same way. Get one back. Concede another then give up. So many times.

Hungerford here we come.

Are we going to be segregated in the newly built terrace next season is what I want to know. ;)
You can probably have it all to yourselves :p

Why are we not actually in the relegation zone yet? Holy crap this league is bad.

Yep its pretty remarkable when you consider in the last 15 games we have lost 11 of them.....we should be well and truly in the relegation zone right about now

For Maidstone to charge £15 for that away end is nothing short of disgraceful. Appreciate that there's not a lot they could do, and apparently £15 is minimum for the league but that was seriously poor. Of the 250 or so Dover fans (couldn't hear, the tannoy didn't work), about 75 will have been able to see any football. Couldn't see fuck all so can barely comment on the game. Wasn't allowed to move to somewhere where with a perfect view (i.e. Behind the goal). Tea was shite too. Add all that to the pouring rain and no cover, and the ridiculous overpolicing of away fans and it made for a very unpleasant experience. I can't imagine many Dover supporters will return next time round.

A few idiots let off smoke bombs again but from the way the police and stewards reacted you'd have thought there'd been a bloody terrorist attack. I do wish the authorities would understand the difference between a smoke bomb and a flare. Also, police dogs hanging around outside a non league game with 250 or so away fans, what a waste of council tax.

On the pitch, we looked crap. Clinical finishing from the front men rescued us, as well as a crap ref not giving what looked to be a stonewall penalty to Maidstone. First game I've seen on a 3G pitch, it didn't bother me as much as I had anticipated it would.

Go on then, tell me the difference. Tell me which one is harmless to people with breathing difficulties, ie asthma.

Not defending them at all, but they're not dangerous, whereas flares are. The only people affected by it were those who set it off. I wasn't far away and couldn't even smell it until the stewards made a pigs ear of putting it out
