Going into half-time at 2-2 when we should’ve been two or three ahead killed us there, completely ran out of steam second half and Tranmere had the legs to just keep nailing us on the counter. They look a much improved team from earlier in the season, Apter was superb.

Wasn't even a foul.

Barrow players going in with heads and elbows every time. Not Wrexhams fault they keep coming off worse.
Sat at home with the benefit of replays, McClean should’ve walked twice…

You’re never boring, 102 goals in 26 games is absolutely ridiculous

Sutton United 1 Newport County 1.

A game of 2 halves. The first one was dull and a little uneventful (save for Sam Hart coming off injured).

The second was livelier, both teams creating chances, but in typical fashion whilst I thought we were having the better of things we conceded. Fortunately we had enough about us to get an equaliser just as we were heading into injury time.

There’s still some life left in us.

Dragged them down to our level most of second half, helped by the rain. Poor visitors on the Wet Terrace. Couple of golden opportunities to nick it at the death, Taylor rounded the keeper but someone got a nick on it and he missed, then big scramble from a final corner with a clearance off the line. Our unbeaten 2025 begins.
At HT I was hopeful we'd go on and win it with the wind behind us, but by FT I was grateful for a point. A lot of battling but not much quality from either side largely due to the weather, but FGR played the conditions better than we did and probably could and should have won it.
Having seen Sutton and FGR over the last week or so I don't think either will be going down without a fight and hope they can both stay up - Salford replacing either of those in the relegation spots would be very welcome.
Worth noting that Mikey T, the commentator for us on iFollow, had a lot of time for the staff and fans at FGR who were very friendly and welcoming apparently, and who also gave a a warm round of applause to the 627 hardy Dons fans in attendance.

Winless in three and injuries stacking up now, it always felt like it was coming (thought we’d capitulate after losing to Maidstone in the FA Cup). Will have to be on it against in-form Tranmere to stop this becoming our traditional mid-season slump.

They're still only allowed 3 sets of substitutes
Mate.

Do you seriously think we would be making subs if we didn't know what the rules were? And that the officials would allow it in any case.

On another day we draw that 1-1 but can’t begrudge Mansfield the win. A proper away performance from them.

Another two off injured is just what we didn’t need.

It’s all about top three rather than top spot and in that regard Notts are too busy trying to be the entertainers to make up any ground and fuck knows what MK Dons were doing today so no real harm done.

Two weeks off now and hopefully some additions ahead of Walsall.

Another two season ending injuries to add to our list is probably the worst outcome than the result. Hope county fans are realising now there is no point talking about the title when the side playing is basically an entirely different team and style of play which put us in contention for it.

The positive is that the top three gap is closing between the playoffs and that’s all what should be important for us whilst we wait for January reinforcements and Sarc/Collar/Barry/MSH to return.

Great game to watch. Was worried we'd ran out of legs after winning three games this week, with Notts passing it round for fun in the first half. Equaliser before half time was pivotal. Connor Jennings is firmly established as a club legend already, but was a missed penalty away from a hat trick and has done such a great job leading the line in the absence of Luke Norris. Notts are still the best footballing side I've seen this year, though seemingly can't defend to save their lives.

Well that was unexpected, it’s amazing what having new players coming in and the possibility of not getting a new contract can do

We have a forward line from League One, a defence from the National League, and a goalkeeper from the San Marino second division.

There is an element of naivety to it on the road, though… we know our defence is struggling and we’re still basically playing six upfront today. We could easily have been 4-1 upfront at half-time with a bit more luck/clinical finishing and it would’ve been fine, but it’s getting to the stage of just being mad for the sake of it.

Realistically I still think we need this season to build and sort out a defence capable of coping with this and then I we are going to be a serious threat next year, but the play-offs is there for us and it’d be stupid to throw that away completely.

At least we can say we were involved in a ‘7 goal thriller’.

Great win for us today against an in-form Bradford side. We massively needed that to stop the slide we were on - we've got most of the midfield missing, and the rest playing through illness or injury, and it's been killing us, so to get three points today was huge. Bradford were so odd - no intention of playing any football, just physicality and long balls, and fortunately we dealt with it and weathered the inevitable storm at the end. Although someone needed to let Cook know that he wasn't supposed to drink 15 pints and eat all the Christmas leftovers last night. I don't think I've ever seen a striker look that pudgy and unfit for a long time.

Oh you'd have to seriously fuck up to not make the play offs, although credit to Nigel and co on our account - if you'd played us a month ago, you'd have won 5-0 with very little effort. Sign any sort of a defence in January and you should be worthy of the autos.

Can see why Swindon rate Kemp. Young, not so much. Somebody needs to buy Austin a new dummy. He lost his when he spat it out for the forth or fifth time. Thing was he seemed to be losing it at his own team.

We won 3-1 but I think we only had four shots. Most of the fans will be sat at home thinking that was a great win. I think we sneaked it. Couple of decent saves from our keeper, couple of very poor finishes from Swindon

I think our lot need a break. There were a lot of very tired players towards the end of the game.
