Defensively if you look at Bromley with or without Bush you'll see their record is far better with him in the team. So on that basis i hope he is out against us.

I'd like to think any of our players with pace would give him serious problems. He used to only get picked at full back because of his long throw, but seems to have moved in field these days.

Wow. Just listened to Flowers' interview and the first thing out of his mouth is 'a very very good performance' and 'no doubt we should have won the game'. Really?! Neither team deserved a point from that monstrosity! God help Solihull fans if that's what passes for a good performance in his eyes and warrants the 2-0 scoreline he claims they deserved.

His post match interviews are always strange. He's coaching in the wrong sport.

Barrow probably odds on to win. CBA to check the odds. A fairy story, 48 years between being dumped out of the football league and the return. Please make it happen?

He's always the same, total clown. And anyone who wears glasses like his is always a danger.

I don’t think we’ll win the league or get particularly close, but we’ve got as much chance as Solihull.

We've got no chance of winning the league , we are in great form but still unconvincing when winning very close games by the odd goal.

Save your money, Barrow or Yeovil are the only winning bets

I wouldn’t totally discount Harrogate, they’ve been in great form for months now and are level with Yeovil. My point was more that I can’t understand how Solihull are so short, anyway!

We've beaten all of those teams except Harrogate (who battered us at the start of the season when we were in disarray), so if you do a head-to-head of the Top 6, I imagine we'd be comfortably at the top.

Personally, I think we have the best defender, midfielder and arguably best forward in the league - but lose any of them and we could be thrown off our stride. Our squad is still the smallest of those teams and we've only really got 13/14 players that would realistically be starting matches. Not getting in the excuses early, but there is still time for things to change.

Love for Barrow to come back -- Watched them at Eastville a few times in the 60's. Also Notts through the play off's.

Anyone who is unexpectedly top of this league at this stage raises strong financial suspicion so I think it's time we cast our eye on this Barrow AFC lot and just how much they are paying these players.

They obviously went under the radar in the summer in terms of the teams who were Going For It™.
I'm joking btw.

We're just over the half way mark of the season, it's way too early to write anyone off in that top cluster of teams, Barra have started very well and if they continue like they are they'll be worthy winners, I personally am backing brother Notts to win it, they've got the clout to bring in some quality and I can't see many teams beating them on their own patch for the rest of the season.

We’ll let you win on the last day of the season if you need 3 points.

Is this the same ‘best striker in the league‘ that was nominated in the shit strikers thread?

He was, given that he missed from two yards in the first game of the season and possesses the surname Quigley.

Glad he's proved us wrong though, he's been phenominal so far and touch wood it continues.

I really liked Quigley when he was with us. A confident Quigley is an excellent player at this level, as he is showing.

The 3 year deal you gave him raised a few eyebrows as he's got a history of bad injuries. If he stays injury free the whole season the gamble has worked.

I had him down as a donkey after three or four games with barely a contribution. But once we clicked, Quigley really started doing the business. I don't recall him missing many chances, plus he makes a lot of goals himself.

If Quigley gets injured and they have to play Byron Harrison in his place then Barrow’s title challenge will stall.

I think most fans are expecting a striker to come in (possibly on loan) - we've loaned out a young Midfielder player to Blyth in NLN and Sheff United have recalled Oliver Greaves a very promising attacking Midfielder who struggled to get in our 16 due to how well we've been playing. That means we have 2 spare squad places at least one of which will probably be a striker.

Keep it going barrow!

Brilliant result yesterday.

If we managed to stop up (which we should) would be brilliant to replace you with some non-descript southern side like Stevenage

It’s no coincidence that our title challenge in 2018 stalled when we bought Harrison in. Well it probably was coincidence tbh, but he wasn’t what we really needed at the time

It’ll take a collapse of all of the top 3 to let Notts in and they’d also have to step it up to win it. As much as I want Notts to go up for natural order reasons, itll come down to Yeovil, Harrogate and Barrow.

What it does show is that smaller squads like Barrow and Harrogate is the way to go. Quality not quantity and that one thing we got wrong in the summer. You could easily run a strong 17/18 man squad alongside a smattering of young ‘uns, that has to be the idea I reckon.

I'm not so sure we will sign a striker - we've currently got five competing for two spaces. Unless Harrison leaves or Penfold/Hindle go out on loan, or Quigley or Angus pick up an injury, I can't see another one coming in.

I wish, Shots have tried this several times in the past, and we were ravaged by injury.
Great display by Aldershot yesterday, did’nt go and listened to commentary . Hopefully will see us anchored in mid-table.When we lose Chislett, will struggle to rise to greater heights.
What’s going on at Wrexham, ? A good side on paper

We’ve had so many injuries to key players all season and a big squad hasn’t done the job. Yes, there’s someone to come in to replace but it’s the national league so unless your budget is massive then the back ups are gonna be shite as we’ve seen for the last 3 years. There’s also no reserve league so it’s hard to keep up match sharpness.

Definitely better to have quality over quantity at this level.

We beat Harrogate but were lucky and it was very early in the season. Aside from Barrow I thought they were the best team we've played.
Barrows to lose but a couple of injuries , suspensions and a dip which is possible and it could open up.
Bromley were good yesterday, Boreham Wood decent, Solihull awful and I've not seen Yeovil yet.
We've left too much to do to challenge for top spot but I'm hopeful of getting to third which gives a big advantage in the playoffs. We aren't convincing at times but we are hard to beat and we are playing for each other, there's a definite team spirit this year and I've no doubt that we would have stayed up with this team last year which shows how tough it is to get out the division.

Bromley have to come here (Barrow) in the next match on the 18th. If we could beat them (we beat them 2-1 away) then they would be 7 points behind us and we would still have 2 games in hand on them. That might be the fatal blow for their title chances if that happens.

0-0 Pools Eastleigh, we should both be docked points for that first half performance.
