Another decent win tonight on the road, albeit against a poor team. The contrast between our home form and our away form is astonishing.

Home - P19 - W8, D2, L9 - PTS 26
Away - P20 - W11, D4, L5 - PTS 37

Shakey night for Tranmere, thought they'd put a few past Sutton.
They did though, they scored 3 goals, that's what's known as 'a few' in my book.

Even Sutton won't know how they drew level in that game. Completely outplayed, before the most bizarre five minutes you will ever see in a football match.

Quite a way for us to break our all time points total however........

Some of your fans and most of ours would beg to differ

If Maidstone can get to the last two home games safe from relegation, I relish the idea of playing Lincoln then Tranmere and having a bearing on the title outcome. What an amazing four days that will be. Seven if you include FGR the Saturday before.

Barrow had the last laugh, of course, with their famous FA Cup win over Tranmere.

A wonder goal and an absolute howler and it's 2-2 out of nowhere. Fair enough, our second goal was a howler from the Sutton keeper but no more so than the 'defending' for Lincoln's first last night. Sutton will wake up tomorrow and still not believe they scored twice in that game, they barely left their own half. That could be a massive goal, it may not. At least we're giving it a right good go.

And before I get accused of pro-Tranmere propaganda again, here's a comment from the Sutton forum (so, you know, impartial):
"Have no doubt Tranmere are a very good side. Better than Lincoln. They have great build up play unlike the imps hoof it forward approach."

The best side isn't necessarily the one that plays the most attractive football, you know?

Fair play to Tranmere though, they're on a great run and are pushing us all the way. For what it counts I think they'll just pip us but I've always been a negative bastard.

I agree. The best side is the one that wins the league. Whoever wins it will have deserved it.

The way it's going us or Lincoln may not get promoted on 97-100 points

Macc fans, I see master Dudley is on the score sheet again. How is he doing for you now he's had a few games? He was very well thought of in his time with us.

Good player- doesn't do much but seems to be in the right place at the right time and managed a few goals. Doesn't help that Askey either plays him up on his own or on the wing- think he would benefit from playing alongside another striker tbh.

PS. Southport were the worst team I've seen this season. We weren't much better. The Dagenham game on Saturday is huge for us- we need a win.
PPS. We won't win though because Askey will play one up top and set up for a draw.

A lone striker he is not.
Best in a two or wider in a three for sure. Great in the box, seems to have the nous to find space and pick a pass.

Not much in the remaining fixtures - reckon Lincoln will drop points twice, which would be enough if we won all our games, but sadly can't see that happening either. Reckon Lincoln pip us but might go to the last game

Regardless of the title, isn't half some nonsense spewed about the league being "weaker" than last season.

We are a significantly better version of the team that was 2 pts off the playoffs last season.. hence instead we are in a title race. It's almost as if it's a contrived strategy to help retain the 2 up 2 down; which results in half of league two simply playing to not get relegated.

Mainly Alan Alger. Despite him probably watching <1% of games this season. He uses Cheltenham struggling as an example but when Bristol Rovers went straight up through League 2 it wasn't mentioned.

We were utter shite last night and deserved nothing out of the game. Contrary to form, Bromley looked a decent outfit with a bit of pace and guile on the counter, and their defence was solid despite our massive aerial assault in the 2nd half. We aren't dead just yet but can't afford any more slip-ups like that.

Bromley looked decent at SB on Saturday too to be fair. Set piece delivery was really good and caused us problems defensively so I was happy to nick a scrappy 1-0.

The fact North Ferriby went to Forest Green and won shows just how utterly terrible this league is. Past winners would despatch the current leaders with ease. Even Matt Rhead is just a poor man's Akinde.

It was well received down here, so thank you.

Not sure what Maidstone are like on the road but four of their next five being on the road before games with the top two is a challenging run in. I don't expect much from our next two so we need to ensure we are still in touch of Braintree before they come here on Easter Monday.

North Ferriby looked a good side tbf.

Strong defence and caused us problems on the break.

You say that but both us and Lincoln look likely to finish with higher points totals than Barnet and Bristol Rovers did the season they went up. Upsets in games between teams at the top and the bottom happen in every league in the world, you can't really pick one result as an example of how crap the standard is.

Until winning against Barrow last week, our away record was better than our home record. Even now I think it's more or less identical. We've generally had a better time away since the new ground opened, so the pitch isn't as big an advantage as people think!

The fact Lincoln got to the quarter final of the FA cup but can't pull clear of Tranmere in the league proves otherwise if you're using logic like that.
