What we need is one of the Woking fans on here to track down this guy who was eating fish n chips with the knife and fork, show him this thread, then give the guy a slap for what he started!

What's everyone doing last game of the season? I say we all go hunt him down.

When you think about it, food is just better than football init? I've only been let down by food about twice in my entire life. Football, on the other hand...

Maybe just have a sub-forum for that shite, and concentrate mainly on culinary discussion.

Wow, just two bad food experiences. What were they?

Could well have been me, actually.

I'm sure you would welcome the opportunity to give me a slap.

I did once have green tomato ketchup in Zambia. Now that was something special..
And I agree with Llamas' point about bananas (or plantains), it just adds something extra. I'm going to hunt down some banana ketchup now, they must sell it in one of the Caribbean grocer places round my ends.

Chippy: Battered sausage/cod & chips with salt and vinegar, curry sauce and/or mushy peas (in separate pots).

BBQ sauce/ketchup/chilli/mayo have no place on chippy chips, but are all perfect for kebab shop chips.

Heinz did green ketchup a few years ago IIRC - tasted exactly the same as normal ketchup but was green

Anyway, the chippy outside the away end at Rochdale. Discuss.

I have heard about the Dale chippy, I have been to Dale. Unfortunately, I didn't wish to wait an age for some chips.

FWIW, Battered Burger and Chips from the chippy is the ultimate (and correct) decision. Absolutely tons of salt and vinegar. Dollop of ketchup on the side.

Oh, and a can of Dr Pepper or Cherry Coke to wash it down.

If you're going to buy a drink from the chippy it has to be either Bing, cream soda or dandelion and burdock.

Who buys a search engine? And an awful one at that.
That's poor. Just found out from Google that not only was Bing only sold in South East Kent, it no longer exists.

Haddock is nicer but I find that unlike cod there's lots of little bones in the fillet.

It's not even proper cod anymore it's mostly Pollock apparently.

Battered burgers are gorgeous, but for some reason feel a lot fattier than a battered sausage, so I try not to order them. That said, I'm more than happy to cover my chips in as many scraps as they will give me.

The little bits of batter that are left behind off the fish and sausages I think, scraped into a big pile and given away for free to people who don't mind a fast-track ticket to a heart attack (me).

Battered burgers? I must try this. Btw guys, anyone who wants a sit down chippy must try Steels in Grimsby. It is the best fish and chips in the land ( I haven't tried this Rochdale one).
