It's a big game, lads, a big game.

No predictions from me other than at least one red card. Would be nice for us to do the bullying this year.

Fairly obvious which way this will go I think. County are due a win in revenge for several previous recent encounters and here it is. I just hope we can make a game of it. 3-1 County.

We may be due a win in this particular fixture but we're due a defeat in general.

Have fun at "the little derby" guys. It's a shame you won't be able to watch the main event of the weekend, though.

So it's your turn to host the team league two should be grateful to host. Don't mention red cards to them they get a bit cranky. And when you take the lead the bandwagoners begin to slide away never to be seen again.

I think for the first time since we started meeting around 2002 that county will a) be well above us in the league and b) be favourites for the game, Obviously a shock to us all.

I think anyone with any memory will recall Notts' form at the end of last season, which has been carried on brilliantly to the new season, whereas top wasn't expected, their form shouldn't be a massive shock.

There's no need on elaborating on Notts' record against us in general, and this is just the day for them to change that, they'll be clear favourites and I don't expect to win.

We've been playing crap football of late and this will need to change for us to gain something from the game/improve going forward.

The build up to the game on stagsnet will be all about how we'll panic and fuck up over a crowd of 6,000 or so and how the plod will make it seem to be WW3.

I was looking forward to this, emphasis on the word was...

Can't see us winning this, we just haven't been playing well enough, and i don't think we have the midfield currently to keep Grant quiet.

Mansfield 1-2 Notts County.

What about the season you went down in 2008, and the season before that we finished above you in the league.

Any TFF'ers around before a pre/post game beer in Mansfield?

I swear the police escort you straight to the ground if you get off the train, so there's no real chance to get a drink pre match, and no pub near the ground admits away fans. I'm sure other notts fans will tell you in greater detail where they'll be drinking though.

On to game, while notts going into the game in excellent form, and mansfield in indifferent form, I think form goes out the window in a derby game, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was 1-0 either way. Hoping notts show a bit of bottle unless previous years.

No idea what the team will be, probably the one that started vs Lincoln with Dickinson playing and maybe Grant on the bench again.

Also, a lovely tribute to have the teams compete for the 'Matt Salmon Trophy' still such a tragic loss.

Can't see Grant not starting here. Harsh on whichever of Hawkridge and Alessandra misses out, they've both done enough to deserve a place, but Grant has to play.

And yup, no hope of escaping the escort for those of us coming by train unfortunately. Been approximately four million of them waiting at Mansfield station the last couple of years.

Think Notts fans have been given Brunells or whatever its called. Its the old Midland hotel on the station.

Get the pronto bus and its behind the bus station too.

Just don't wear colours and get the bus down. Get off Nottingham Road near the sainsburys and you'll be completely fine.

Notts police seem to think there is something more here than there is.

Would have to get on a bus then though, lads. At least us actually being given a pub this year is something of a step in the right direction.

The amount of tickets we get offered for this has always been laughably low, but its reducing year on year and getting worse. If it was a home sell out or even close I'd understand. I guess that's what you get with a 3 sided ground#giveusthebusstop

Thats because of the damage you caused to the toilets last year and the behaviour of your fans

That whole incident was madness.

a) that fans would be daft enough to do that and b) that we were penalised due to the actions of county fans in the away end.

Whereas I wouldn't wish it on them, it's annoying our "friends" from SAG don't hound and pester the Nottingham clubs like they do us.

What about all the seasons before last season?

Obviously John 'moneybags' Radford can afford to turn down the £££'s, not many can at this level. The sheer arrogance of the man. I bet on Saturday all the Stags fans who wish to attend could all fit in the superb West Stand.

Probably worried you wouldn't pay us for the tickets we did send you again.

Again, it's called the SAG.

If you've a gripe about allocations and over zealous policing Mansfield fans have talked and protested about it until blue in the face. Have a word with them and see what they say. We wish we had an away end which held 4,500 fans for many reasons, but the fact is, we're a league 2 club with an average away stand.

Question for the Notts County fans, why isn't Grant in Forest's first team? Is there something wrong with them?

Maybe it's the previous results in this fixture, but I'm very wary about Saturday. Should be some decent match-ups, and I bet Hayden White will have a stormer following his disastrous loan spell at Notts and subsequent run-ins with Notts fans on social media (he took the p*ss when Derry - who had bombed him off - was sacked, and attracted some heat in return). For us, Brisley, Tootle, and Grant will probably all start having been rested last night, and Shola may return to the bench, if not the starting XI (will Stead really play Sat-Tue-Sat?).

Stags line up prediction?

They have about 4 attacking midfielders ahead of him and their fans (and manager, it would seem) don't think he's good enough for the Championship, apparently. Seen some suggestion Warburton has said he'll never play for them, don't know how true it is, and our owner has said he'll be here next season, so whether there is some agreement in place, I don't know.

I don't think that Warburton liked what he saw in pre-season. There's maybe an argument that he drifts in and out of games too much for that level, but I think he's more than good enough to be an asset for them. He should be playing for a top League One team at the very least.

Wouldn't be surprised if we had another go at signing him permanently in January, but the price is going to keep going up.

Never been, not going this time again. Set up for a disappointing 2-0 defeat imo.

(Vital I keep up my attempts at reverse jinxing every game.)

Our turn to get a 5-0 hammering..

But the boys have got something to prove, and if Evans is in the stands, it might let the players actually play football. Our defence are very good but as last night proved they cant do it all on their own every game.

If we win or get a point I will be shocked....

But we can't have 'our big day out' (lol) if we only get 1675 tickets! Even current National League Champs Lincoln City offer substantially more than that. H&S always get in the way, I'm sure we used to get over 1800 allocate tickets for the same stand a few years back.

It's so unfair, fans willing to pay cold hard cash to watch this Nottinghamshire derby, now will have to listen on the radio?! Or even worse, go sit in amongst it in the impressive West Stand. Booooooooo!

As for the game, even with this stupidly good start to the season, I would snap your hands off for a draw to keep the great form going, from three tricky games (Imps, Grecians, Stags) on paper.

We have a larger away end than Premiership Bournemouth, the argument is?

I'm happy with the number of tickets meself. It always sells out pretty quickly but makes it to general sale so anyone who really wants one can get one but it's still mostly just people who go all the time.

Whenever we've taken much bigger away followings in the past they've been full of people who don't go to away games regularly and have no real interest in trying to create any atmosphere.

Can you build a 4th stand to your ground like the vast majority of other league teams, this would increase annual revenues for Mansfield Town FC match the chairman and fat boys lofty ambitions and solve the problem. Could also atttact more home fans.

It's a win:win:win
