Unfortunately that means Hatswell also another bully like Deeney.

When do FGR play Crewe?
1st April ironically. Even I couldn't see them appointing Flynn and sacking him with only 4 games to go. By that stage they'll either be down, at which point does it even matter, or they'll be in with a fighting chance, which means keeping him in charge would make sense.

Gary Bowyer now a strong contender apparently.

That is a thoroughly depressing list.

Lee johnson gets through jobs faster than a spotty 16 year old out of school, why would anyone bother with him?

Flynn seems to have struggled since Newport also, they were decent under him.

Of those on the leader board, think Cotterill would be the best option, though not sure how much of his management career involves rescuing teams from relegation..

If Cotterill gets the job I’ll burn your flag over Quorn sausages using a wok made from a wings album

Has he still got the energy and enthusiasm? He was pretty ill during Covid and hasn't really had any success for years now. I think managers like players have shelf lives, it seems to burn them out over time.

Although, if Flynn is hired and keeps FGR up as he did when appointed at Newport, he'll be regarded as League 2's version of Big Sam

Martin Allen - turned up at Kingsmeadow and couldn't remember what team he was following. I was on car park duty that day.
Remember when Chesterfield gave him the password to their computer and said he could write all the news articles for their official site. Peak Mad Dog.

It's quite frustrating listening to the fall out from the Deeney sacking, hearing him saying what a shambles we are off the pitch with a losing culture at the club and players turning up late to training all the time. Plus the fact it seems Vince never turns up or speaks to our managers these days. Just gets our useless DOF to handle stuff, including sackings.

On top of that the fact that when Deeney was brought in as player coach in August he was promised the managers job in a year or two seemed crazy, how could Horseman have had any authority when his replacement was already in the building? He was in the job for a month and was already a dead man walking.

Hurst isn’t a bad manager but he got this season badly wrong, in recruitment and coaching. He should keep Shrews safe but it’s not going to be a pretty 4 months for them. Only worry is if he decides to nick any of the signings he made (though he’s welcome to several of them).

Cotterill now 1/3. Surprised he's that short tbh.

I looks bleak for FGR, if Vince had any sense earlier in the season it should have been a no brainer to appoint a manager with experience rather than a rookie

Seems Paul Hurst has "failed upwards" and secured a move to League One Shrewsbury. Wonder what the Grimsby fans think of that?
Pleased for him. Great fit for Shrewsbury and a wry earcupping to his doubters and those that were saying he'd be 'Gateshead or somewhere NL bound'. Fully deserves another decent job. Grimsby Town legend.

Who specifically are you worried about? Conteh is already on his way, the only other ones that would be big losses for me are Rose and maybe Glennon at a push.

Hurst suits Shrewsbury. Taylor's football was reported as being "basic". Good appointment and should be enough of an injection to keep the Shrews safe in the lower half of L1.

Didn’t Vince say League Two is the easiest division to get out of.

Stockport County.
Great job for Paul Hurst. I always liked him, did a great job at Grimsby on two occasions, I thought they were a bit heavy handed sacking him this season but I know the Grimsby fans will rightly say they know more than I do about their club.

I’m really pleased for him, the memories he gave us in his second spell here will live long in the memory and even though I thought it was the right time for him to move on i was also still gutted to see him go.
Delighted for him that he looks like getting a job higher up and I hope he does well there, which is pretty much the opposite of my views the first time he went there.
