Don't question his work rate just lacks a bit of quality
Understand exactly where your coming from.
Think the new gaffer wants certain players who won,t run out of steam and he will add the guile.
Time will tell.
I posted a link to a talkin he was involved in after he was appointed.
In which he states "Academy players are like robots" and players have to play his way
Or they don,t play.

Think Holohan would have been a good fit, With this style.

Shelton played well at times last season, but didn't get a good run in the team.
He's one those who does a lot of the stuff you don't really notice, winning second or lose balls.
I'd much rather have him than some young u23 kid.

Shelton will be good to have around but hopefully not as a starter, last season he could’ve scored a hat trick, solved world hunger and found a cure for cancer and Lee would’ve still found an excuse to take him off.

Yup.
When he scored the late winner against Rochdale,Lee wanted to know what he was doing in the Rochdale box!

We’ve won the race to sign Niall Maher, few teams were after him so a big statement from us

Halifax captain, NL team of the year, pretty much every club in this division in the North linked with him, got a bit of pace to go alongside Waterfall. Decent start to our window that.

decent signing - i'm pretty sure Wild would have liked him at Barrow.

Hull rag saying its between us and Peterbrough for Richie Smallwood. I don't fancy our chances but I guess if he comes here it'll be primarily due to location.

Been one of the best players in the NL for the last couple of years tbf so don't doubt he can step up but I don't see where actually starts in our team positionally. Good players are welcome though and I'm sure DC has got a plan.

He's probably answered my own question in his interview. Reckons he's best as a 8 and a half/10, so he'll compete in the midifeld three particularly with Collar and Sarcevic.
Thats a great signing for you, a few years ago i watched him play a few times for wales u21's he was the best player on the pitch on each occasion playing in the 10 position he was at bristol city at the time.

We've just announced Hiram Boeteng. Very happy with that
Very good signing for L2. On his day he’s unplayable and he can produce some unreal quality. A small issue is that he doesn’t score enough from midfield (think he only scored 3 in about 75 games for us) but overall that’s a great signing.

And you actually paid us a fee for him too.

I don't know whats happening with Rodney. We know there's a player in there somewhere. He was excellent in the lockdown season and we all thought he would push on but his form just fell off a cliff. Started the season just gone as number 1 forward yet by January he was surplus to requirements.

Would he get in ahead of your star midfielder McAtee?
McAtee's more of a #10 so I'm sure we can accommodate them both. Cesc off the bench for the last 20 after Fox has ran the opposition ragged. Where else but Grimsby do you go after playing in London, Barcelona and Monte Carlo?

He's getting close to journeyman status and he's only 24. If he could ever channel what he showed in his first year with us he'd do well for Dale but I'm sceptical as not least his lack of awareness will always hold him back. That's two good managers in DC and Flynn who have had a look at him and for whatever reason didn't like what they saw.

Very good signing for you that

Kinda player we needed in midfield, we can be too lightweight against the more thuggish sides like sutton, harrogate and newport - if we’re going to do better in those kinda games we need something more.
