Sounds like a thriller at Vale.

Combined shots on target from both teams....... 1.

We will lose this 2-1, Vale will score first, then we’ll ‘go for it’ and equalise before then conceding a late winner.

We won’t score two if we don’t get the crosses in!

Been dire, if your at home you’ve not missed a thing!

Seeing this Vale team attempt to play is a complete chore. I doubt we will be in any relegation danger or anything like that as we will shithouse our way to some points here and there but we always look so lacking in any spark at all. Just the same punt into the channels for Pope to flick on to nobody.

Off to a great start at Rodney Parade via a Williams free kick, then County working their way back in to it in a scrappy half, broke away for the second at just the right time with the half looming but spoiled it by keeper giving away a soft pen barging one of theirs at a corner.

Luckily Crawley (with the team they had on the pitch) were as bad as I've seen this season apart from the U's on too many occasions to mention. Enjoyed little Luke Gambin's touches and Camara's occasional efforts but essentially they were as toothless as us.

Their goal was a Xmas gift from our two (After you Claude) fullbacks. If Dimi had been keeper, he'd have probably come out and got a red whereas Forde was never going to get involved - so some blessings for being too slow to catch cold.

Our first goal was high quality, admittedly aided by the training ground dummies in the Crawley defence. We huffed and puffed in the second half, with continued dire shooting, got the win with a touch (or two) of class from Amoo - one of the best wingers in the Division (for 30 minutes anyway) and a classic fox in the box Jabo finish.

Some trepidation at the prospect of Lincoln, with a full South Stand and South Habbin, up next - especially with Deegan suspended after his 10th yellow. Today 121 stalwarts travelled with Crawley for one of our lowest Boxing Day crowds for a long time (4,601).

It's a Christmas miracle. We've not only scored, but it's Chris Porter from a corner. Hallelujah!

Quite a few of your typical boxing day results so far. FGR making light work of a quite decent Newport side, the aforementioned Carlisle now 5 nil up,and MK and Lincoln both behind to struggling sides.

And Man U now 2 nil up at home to Huddersfield! Crazy day.

Christ on a bike, it's 2-0 now. Both goals by players that hadn't scored since the opening day. It really is a time for miracles!

Aspin can go after that. It’s not working. Shocking to lose that!

What was this mad scramble in our box like at the end, going off Vales Twitter sounded like 3 shots all cleared on 94 minutes?

Expect Exiles will have a few moans about the ref but really decent away win that and not really any controversy about the goals or the red AFAICT.

Well it's getting tight now! Not a classic at the Park, but two great goals and a bit of a scramble to win it. Yeovil only seemed to play when they went behind. Three in a row but we need to keep wi ning and I'm sure Grimsby will be tough.
Denied a 6000 gate by Yeovils poor travelling support.

He constantly sends a team out with the mentality of playing not to lose than trying to win. It’s just utterly tedious, this style of play was outdated 20 years ago. As I say he will keep us up but he will never have us challenging for a playoff spot etc playing like this.

Happy with that, grinding out results now.

6 wins and a draw in our last 8 league games, got to be happy with that since losing to stags at beginning of Nov.

Even if he keeps us up, there will be no-one there to watch it

Newport losing 4-1 at home to FGR, should be instantly relegated based purely on that result.......

How did our "sound defence" do?
Happy Christmas.

I think you gave a like to Shoddy for 'ensconced' I think it was, and I'm giving you one for AFAICT. One doesn't come across this abbreviation that often, and it's usually AFAIC for acronym lovers like myself.

Another two points thrown away at home, and that’s why we won’t do anything this year.

Special mention to the referee, in the running for the most inept we’ve had this season. Highlights included giving us a penalty then deciding 45 seconds later it wasn’t a penalty and overturning his own decision. Bafflingly shite.
