Bielik is one medical away from joining Birmingham which is partly a shame because he’s a good player but we free up 20% of our wage bill in one move and we‘ve got a £1m on top. A good deal all round. It should see us become more active in the actual trading market. I’d guess Washington is announced on top.

No news on Knight - who is reportedly thinking about his future. It sounds like we may have offered him a contract to fend off interest. I still expect him to move on.

Wrong loanee, it's Jack Robinson. When we signed him on loan it was with a view to a permanent deal but I presumed that with him being well behind Armer in the pecking order that he hadn't impressed enough. Clearly I was wrong, but it does mean that our first signing is unlikely to be a starter.

Not wrong, just a little bit premature as McCalmont has now been announced.

I’m pleased with these two signings, but they don’t feel like new signings. We still don’t have any new players in addition to what we had last season in L2.

Hopefully we bring in a couple more over the next week that add to what we already had last season.

Decent. Can drift in an out of games but overall it’s a good signing. We sold him to Ipswich made a good profit and they loaned him back. He will do well for you.

Looks like we will be adding Jayson Leutwiler from Oldham to be our reserve keeper. Can’t remember much of him but in all honesty with Ripley the starter he’ll hopefully only ever play Pizza Trophy games and as such I’ll never see him play.

As long as your home crowds don't get too big and noisy he'll do well. Seems to be able to bang in goals when the pressure is off.

We signed him a couple of summers back after a great pre-season. Once the real games started he completely disappeared. Did really well at Burton, so Ipswich inevitably came calling. He once again disappeared under high expectations.

Still only 22 though. There's definitely a player there in the right environment.

I think with him it’s somewhat been the case Swindon managed to catch lightning in a bottle as everywhere else he’s been it’s either he was underwhelming or he’s not left a good impression in terms of attitude. I can see him linking back up with Garner at Colchester maybe, he got the best from him.

This is what I thought, looks like Garner and Colchester are in for him too but the vibes I'm getting is that he will join us on a season long loan.

Unusual for us to look at signing a player like him, maverick with as you say a questionable attitude with only one very good season under him. Wellens and in particular our DOF Martin Ling usually go for players who are all round good eggs in character.

Wellens has been excellent for us by improving alot of our players individually - which is part of the reason why we won League Two last season, so it will be interesting to see how he would get on here if he joins.

Yeah I believe he broke his foot early on at Ipswich and never got back in. Looks like just the type of player we lacked last season given Ironside got found out after a good first season at this level.

We’ve possible just made our best signing that we’ll make all pre season and it’s not even a player.

Chris Skitt returns to the club as head of medical performance. According to players in podcasts that played in our squad in 2017/18 season, Eric Ramsay and Chris Skitt were the brains and had the bigger influences on players than Paul Hurst and Chris Doig.

With Winchester returning yesterday and now this, I’m getting a bit more optimistic and excited for the new season.

Splits opinion. Some say he’s utter shite, which is unfair and others say he’s solid enough. He had a dreadful game vs Oxford last season and struggled for games after that when Caldwell came in. But then he got a few games towards the end and did ok for us.

Clearly a player with some ability but has lost his way since leaving WBA.

Terrible player, one of the worst we've ever had an absolutely awful defender who cost us loads of goals and a real liability.
If he plays for you then you're guaranteed to be relegated so your club should look elsewhere mate.

I’ve genuinely not seen one bad review of him on social media. All very pissed off Carlisle fans if anything. I respect your opinion though, there’s some players I don’t rate yet other supporters love them. I’ll reserve full judgement until I’ve seen him play myself but right now I’m more than thrilled with our business in the last 24 hours. We certainly should be pushing top half again.
