Sounds good, can’t wait to see him.

I honestly don't think you will, but I could be wrong. It's like when we took Tony Springett on loan last season, filled a place on the bench, but never looked like he would make a start. You can usually see when players are just doing their best to survive.

After the Bobby Clark deal fell through, it seems we've moved quick to get Elliot Embleton on loan from Sunderland. He's on his way for a medical from multiple sources. Never seen him play myself, but had a good record for Sunderland in League One - 38 games, 9 goals, 6 assists - anyone know if he's any good? He scored in the play-off final win vs Wycombe.

He doesn't finish a game too often, usual 60 minutes per appearance when starts.

Crewe fans seem to rate him highly so I’d be happy with this one. How do you know this?
We were in with a chance of getting him back but apparently he/Southampton have chosen you because you're in a higher division. Can't really blame them.

He's a terrific player. Does everything you'd want a centre midfielder to do.

There’s an eerie silence at Brunton Park. Nothing going on. No one of any quality is even entertaining the idea of coming to us it seems.

Our manager said yesterday we’d been knocked back by 15 transfer targets for the striker position. Yes FIFTEEN.

It’s a dire situation because it’s clear the forwards we have aren’t capable of scoring at this level.

Pivotal day in our season this. In about 6 and a half hours time we’ll know our fate.

Darragh MacAnthony on SSN at the moment will be a surprise to absolutely nobody that knobhead has found his way in front of a TV camera. Doesn’t sound like JCH will be leaving as it stands.

Louie Watson gone to Charlton on loan. He’s a bit lightweight looking but he actually put in some decent performances for us when he played including a man of the match against Wigan in the cup. We played him as a DM sitting type as he is a Technical midfield player who was able to turn out of tight spaces and pressing to keep things moving.

Would definitely need to be around others who can do some dirty work for him though as he isn’t the most physically imposing.

He's as bad as Dale Vince getting his mug on TV at every opportunity. Total arsehole too

Been a quiet day for us so far - Evans hoping we're going to add two or three more by the close of play.

Charlie McNeill on loan from Manchester United looks like it's going to happen. Striker who was on loan at Newport last season. Scored 2 in 20 appearances for them having scored a ridiculous number at the youth levels.

Apparently a Championship club wanted Nathan Thompson but the approach was rejected. Not expecting any outgoings apparently a few of the youngsters within the squad will be going on loan to Non-League clubs but no pressure to get those sorted today.

I think Vale are getting to the point of breaking out the “do something” meme. Feels like a number of clubs waiting for other dominos to fall before pulling the trigger on their own moves.

McNeill now confirmed. Loan until the end of the season.

Two loan signings for us today and that will probably be it.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji from Arsenal and Josh Williams from Birmingham

That’s us apparently done in the market now minus Hernes to Newcastle to be confirmed. Would have ideally liked just one more centre midfielder but with Shipley coming back in 2/3 months then he can play in his rightful position now that we’ve got Benning & Fleming to play at LWB.

Overall I think Mat Taylor’s first transfer window for us couldn’t really have got much better, I’d give it a solid 8.5/10. Think we have a top half squad which has the potential to surprise. Best thing about today is we’ve kept Marosi, Bayliss and Udoh for atleast another 5 months. Very happy Salopian tonight!

I love your positivity for your club. I think it's just because I've become a bit hard nosed being a perennially disappointed Vale fan.

I don't think you can really judge the success or otherwise of a transfer window until probably Christmas. We look to have signed a couple of very decent loans but overall I'm not going to judge until half way through the season.

You may have signed some decent players today but you can't be sure until you've seen them play. We've heard it all before about players 'ripping' up the league and then they turn out to be crap.

I do love Shrewsbury's new signing announcements. (Please take Denver Hume off us.)

P’boro owner has just confirmed they’ve given JCH permission to speak with a club, down to the player now.

He also confirmed earlier today live on Sky that Wael has been calling him all day. Christ it might actually be happening

Good luck to the guy, really hope he does well for you. Served his purpose for us.

Any rumours on the fee? Will follow Lofty closey. Any other ex players of ours you’re after?

Rumour of Gibbo coming back but that’s fallen through apparently.

Just says undisclosed but looks like Ellis is off to Wrexham.

Seen a Wrexham fan post on Twitter that Harrison to them might be on. Good luck to him if he goes. I’m not overly enamoured with the Loft signing but guess it would make sense in that context.

He reckons it’s £500k as well! Bonkers if true, delighted with that.
