Backed Ashcott Boy and 2 others in a treble and cashed out for £9 when the first one came in. Stuck another £2 EW on Prominna (Wolves) and Avispa at Ludlow. Waiting for the latter to give me a small profit (hopefully).

3 firsts 1 second and 2 thirds on Channel 4's Pick 6 game today. Had them as a £1ew accumulator and got £17.62 back.

I picked Alben Star (9/1), then a couple of short prices with Grendisar and Moonlight Landing (6/5, 2/1) so it was a decent day... until I got some 'info' on a couple of dogs which turned out to have 3 legs between them . Overall about £30 profit for the day.

Dubai World Cup today boys! Bring it.

A couple of nice runs in there, Moonlight Landing in particular, she was so quick on that final furlong or so.

Who do you fancy for the World Cup then? Obviously California Chrome is the obvious choice but I really like the 16/1 price on Keen Ice and Moore, has the attributes and the draw.

Yeah some lovely racing all day, I have to go out in a couple of hours so will be missing it but will have it all recorded.

Other fancies today include:

Haydock
2.35 - Alzammaar @ 7/1 (literally just moved to head the market as I post)

3.45 - Teo Vivo @ 9/1

Kempton
4.35 - Midtech Star @ 10/3

Will also be keeping a keen eye on Stormy Clouds in the Maiden fillies stakes at 1.40

Newton Abbot
2.40 - Que Sera @ 9/2

Not sure about betting yet but may well have some of these in some form of multiple.

I went for Alzammaar and Serenity Now in these and Baku Bay in the 1510.

The 3.10 looks an open race, I keep looking at Gonalston Cloud@ 8/1, only concern seems to be weight but won last time out at 11-3, has to be seriously considered each way.

I love Postponed so I'll be backing him, as well as Tryster. Polar river should win, one for a multiple though at the price. Most of the others at Meydan look hard to call so I might bet during the day, but will keep stakes pretty low I think.

Also really like the chances of Windshear in the 2.15 at Kempton, I think he'll run a big race.

In terms of the World Cup itself, I can't look past the 2 Yank nags Cali Chrome and Frosted. I'm leaning towards Frosted as I think he can maintain a finishing pace that bit longer so if he runs for home pretty early and CC tries to stay with him, Chrome will die off towards the end. I haven't bet yet but if I did my money would be on Frosted

Don't argue with any of that. I agree with Graham Cunningham on today's Morning Line, Chrome's and Frosted's odds and place in the market should probably be swapped.

Well it's been a pretty shit day all round. Postponed winning has seen me draw level and a bit with the bookies, but no real winnings to speak of

I can't believe Washington DC in the 7.30 at Dundalk isn't odds on yet. He's only really been beaten by Air Force Blue. The only question is how fresh he is, but if he's anything like he's far better than anything else in the field

Yep, even half-fit he absolutely hacked up. The bookies got that one badly wrong.

Flat season really gets underway at Doncaster today.

I like the look of Buick on Emerald in the first but not a huge fan of betting on the big handicaps so will probably leave that for now.

Mutarakez for the Lincoln handicap.

Finding it difficult to look past Suedois in the 3.20, group 3 winner and has the ground where his closest rivals have excuses. Jack Dexter gone up, Albern Star who looked good last week looks to prefer the faster ground.

Away from Donny there is a couple I like at Kempton.

Solar Flair at 2.30 and Dougan at 3.00.

My tracker has also fired Cactus Valley at me for the 4.00 at Kelso.

Will go away and try and find some bets from that lot I think.

His biggest problem will be getting the chance to run. I think he needs 8 or 9 to drop out to get in.

Yeah I would be really sweet on his chances but can't see him getting in.

Think Many Clouds has a great chance of winning back to back.

Yes baby Aintree is here

1.40 garde la victoire 7/2
2.15 ivanovich gorbatov (no rain pls) 6/5
2.50 cue card 6/5
4.05 marasonian 8/1

Annie Power, ivanovich gorbatov, cue card treble 6/1

Few other races I've not decided in yet. If it's soft ivanovich should be alright, if it's heavy he'll be fucked so I think they'll pull him

Edit: added Minella Present (e/w 13/2) in the 4.40 and La Bague Au Roi (2/1) in the 5.15

I think I've paid for my festival with a decent return on the free £50 in play last night :)

GOING FOR GOONYELLA IN THE NATIONAL

Gone for Goonyella myself along with The Druids Nephew, was going round really well last year before that mistake.

Hard to disagree with much of Spirerite's choices tbh. Although as good as she is, I really don't think Annie Power should be 4/7 for the Aintree hurdle.

Backed Footpad at Cheltenham and agree with Spireite with regards to Ivanovich and the ground. Footpad will like softer ground and looks good at 11/2.

L'ami Serge at 10/3 is interesting too, some good each way value about today I think.
