Opportunity for us to make it 5 wins on the bounce for the first time in 24 years. Despite a slight recent upturn in away form I don’t think we will match that feat tomorrow. As the saying goes, I think we’ll be on the beach and it will be a Grimsby win.

Has Harry Davis been playing for Grimsby and will he tomorrow? The lad doesn’t deserve the abuse that his dad does, but he will probably get some.

Disappointed I won’t be there for the last dose of football and to probably see the final appearances of a few of our talented lads. It’s been a decent enough season for us.

We don't seem to be on the beach to be fair. The players and manager seem to be quite motivated to finish as high as we can, and get as many points as possible, players are playing for contracts and potential moves up the league's

Sounds like a dire start from us. I’m not convinced by Sass-Davies, think it’s going to be difficult to replace Ray.

Fucking hell man this is horrible to listen to. Harry Davis, it just had to be.

This is a massive reality check.

Game over it sounds.

Sounds like two very lucky goals for us so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Sounded awful 1st half, but much better 2nd half and if it wasn't for the Grimsby keeper we could have got something out of the game. Sounded like we missed Porter upfront.

There is 2 parts to Harry Davis' celebration. First, he got a lot of undeserved abuse at the Alex. He was way more professional than George Ray ever has been or was, yet he never was taken in by the fans, simply because his dad was the manager and some only ever felt he was picked because of that. He didn't give himself a big contract or the captaincy or premium playing time. I also don't think he was that bad a player either. He was just put in a terrible team surrounded by terrible team mates and looked after by a terrible manager. He was clearly over his head in L1 as well, which also isn't his fault.

I understand the resentment he has towards some portions of the fan base. But I don't understand what celebrating in front of our fans today proves. Well done Harry, you left a L2 club in the summer of 2017, where they finished 17th with 55 points. 2 years later and you are with a L2 club that finished in 17th with 56 points and scored a goal that meant nothing to either team's season overall. Hardly a 'karma's a bitch' moment is it? Let it go dude FFS.

Anyway, yes the poor performance and young team means we can't read much into today. But overall, this team finished 0-6-5 against the bottom 11 on the road. That's shocking. Lowest wins and goals scored on the road. Shocking. Yet we're the only team to win 15 at home and scored the 2nd most at Gresty Road. I genuinely don't understand why this team was so good at home all season, yet so consistently wank on the road. Artell has got to figure that out over the summer.

He was apparently getting stick through the game as well but I’d have hoped he Rose above it.

You’d have probably got at least a draw today if not for McKeown.

He was getting called a wanker throughout so he had every right to taunt “us” when he scored. It’s no big deal though, he’ll always be Steve Davis’ son so he loses in the long run.

The game was a crock of shite. Wind didn’t help but it wasn’t anywhere near good enough performance wise.

Jaaskalainen is clearly out of his depth at this level at the moment, all the goals in the last couple of games have been super soft. Not sure Sass Davies is up to it either. We also missed Porter but the Grimsby keeper pulled off some excellent saves. Bowery though is terrible, hopefully he’s going.

I think we basically lost it because it was a weakened side, plus windy dead rubber circumstances. No big deal.

Having just seen the highlights, I’m bewildered how Bowery hasn’t got a hatrick, missed enough sitters for 2 games there.

Harry Davis’ celebration, hilarious, what an embarrassing family. Your dad’s on the dole mate and you’re a shit league 2 defender.

Just seen the highlights, if Porter had been playing he would have bagged a few yesterday, Bowery just doesn't have that composure Infront of goal. Also young Will didn't cover himself in glory for both of the Grimsby goals.

That was the first time I've seen Bowery play badly I think. Never really understand what Crewe fans don't like about him but I kind of get it a bit now.

Was Ainley injured yesterday or something?

Fair is fair regarding Davis for me, was getting a load of abuse off you lot. I like the fact that he did that, shows that he cares. Had a bet on him to score anytime but for Crewe to win 3-1. Should have just gone first scorer.

I thought we did alright at times yesterday, particularly in the first half. Was two young sides battling the elements almost as much as each other. How Crewe didn't score, I'll never know. I don't think they really tried to use the wind to their advantage in the second half. McKeown had a blinder in terms of shots saved too. There was a great moment that summed him up well when pulled off a total worldie and then booted the ball out of touch with the goal kick.

Jesus christ, that first Bowery miss.... I swear he's trying not to score. He knees it straight forward, it probably goes in. He seems to put it back towards McKeown somehow. That 2nd chance, again, you've got enough time and space, head the thing down and you'll probably score. His finishing switches from amazing(see his GOTS v Stevenage) to abysmal. There is no inbetween. Lowery's chance, cracking save from McKeown again.

Loved that Jaaskelainen save towards the end, that's possibly the best of the game. That's his potential right there, stunning stop. Just concerning to see him give away that 1st goal like that, can't happen at any level. The 2nd, meh, we've seen those go in a few times, not arsed.

Interesting to see what Artell does with some of these positions in the off-season. We need either a RB or a CB and that's even if Ng stays. Unless they think Johnson/Sass-Davies are the replacements of course. We're going to need a winger if Kirk goes. Some tough choices coming for sure.

Bowery can easily be replaced by another striker who runs around a lot... and maybe score from a yard out.

Hope the summer isn’t a story of sticking by the likes of Sass Davies and Jaaskalainen (if Garratt goes). Neither are good enough to be regulars yet, can’t see what good it’d do them or us.

I trust Artell to get the right players in though. He’s done relatively well in the market.

Also just stumbled across Joe Davis making a tit of himself on twitter. The Davis family are truly patting themselves on the back this weekend. Anyone know if dickhead Steve is off the dole yet? Seeing as no club seems to want to touch the toxic tit with a barge pole.

You can try and gloss over it all you want but that is progression right there, we got an extra point ffs! :bg:
