He’s not going to ever be the most technically gifted player but Garrity is really establishing himself as a major cog in this Vale team. The workrate of this guy is incredible.

Same tripe as the first half. Only one team gonna win this. We looked knackered and we've had a week off.

Vale are a good side, very well organised and look a threat. We’re miles off them so far.

Must be about a dozen decent shots to none from us, not at the races at all.

The thing that worries me is at some point you are going to get an opening and momentum can do strange things. We need to put the game to bed now.

I'm guessing from what I've seen of us so far this season that Hartlepool game scored after we got in a mix up at the back

Nah it was just a stunning strike from Gav Holohan

Really surprised Carlisle aren't bringing Gime Toure on. Would be the obvious choice.

Conlon on for the Vale. Just need to run the clock down now. Don’t give them a way back in. Great to see him back anyway.

Losing 2-0. Poor performance from a poor team. Lucky against Oldham, lucky against Mansfield and getting what we deserve today against a better side. Midtable slide begins today.

Some managers have wierd Melvillesque delusions around certain teams. Graham Westley used to have one with us, because we beat his Stevenage side in a conference play off final when he was a rookie manager and subsequently every time we played him he referenced that match in a long rambling press conference and then made self-defeating tactical choices such was the extreme level of respect he paid us.

Given his pre match comments, maybe Hartlepool are Beech's. Still can't think why else he'd change a line up that had looked so solid defensively but wasn't scoring goals to an even more defensive one, unless Victoria Park is some kind of weird twilight zone for him and he takes leave of his senses whenever he enters.

Not laid a glove on Vale; maybe surprised to get the two goals so early but they've managed it out superbly since and been more likely to score.

Some Bantams fans at Brisbane Road suggesting Orient scorer Harry Smith mocking the fire with a lighter celebration towards the fans, surely not. If so, god help him if he plays at Valley Parade in the return fixture

Absolutely brilliant result from Vale there. I know FGR were missing a few key pieces today but even so to go away to a team that was scoring at will before today and keep a clean sheet as well as bang in a couple ourselves is really pleasing. Hopefully can build on this against Dale next Saturday. Does feel we are slowly but surely putting things together.

All the best to FGR though.

excellent performance, very happy with that performance.

FGR you can tell are a good side, just a bad day at the office for them and a good day for us. Shame garrity didn't get one, his first chance must be one of the saves of the season so far.

Swindon finally had a chance around the 50th minute and it was a good one that required a save, few minutes later Hawkins pretty much goes through and squares it to Danny Johnson but it was way too wide. Big fuck up, no excuses we should be scoring that.

not long later, 1-0 Swindon, good worked goal against the run of play, but fully expected and quite frankly this will become the norm, you can sense it with this squad. Around the 75th minute Mansfield scored, but the officals decided they really wanted Swindon to win, and therefore made the decision that the ball did not go over the line. Even though it did by a fucking mile, well it looked like it on iFollow anyway. Maris even managed to miss a golden chance in stoppage time, volley inside the box straight at the goalkeeper.

I’ll be honest being shite in recent seasons and losing is much easier to take than what we’ve had in our last three games against Colchester, Bradford, and Swindon. It’s all very predictably boring, Mansfield miss golden chance, fuck up defensively, referee has a stinker then we lose.

So a bizarre result really, how we’ve lost two on the bounce and not won in three now is a bit daft to be honest.

Battling point. Kite a bit naive in being sent off, but replays seem to show the foul was outside the box.
Sounded like we had the better chances when we had ten men.

Probably the first time in his spell as manager here that Chris Beech has dropped a bollock. He did try the back three for a spell on the opening day and it resulted in us hanging on for a draw so I thought he'd learned his lesson. A total mystery why he would actually start a match like that. Never again I hope.

We did have a few out, but tbf you didn’t give Matt or Stevens, who’ve been on fire, a sniff today.

Worrall is quality btw.

Sutton heartbreak, FGR and carlisle lose unbeaten records, a couple other surprise results, battling draw for ten man Barrow. People's champions Scunthorpe match on.

Very, very lucky win. Second half not a bad watch but we were all over the place at times. It seems no matter how poor we play Mansfield just can’t beat us. They had a ‘goal’ ruled out that was definitely over the line plus missed a few good chances too.

Not sure how much longer we can go on riding our luck playing like this.

He also tried it for 45 at Sheffield and 20 at Swindon. It doesn’t work.

Previously we’ve looked like a half decent solid team that’s just a bit toothless.

Today with the tactical fuck up from Beech, we looked like a poor poor team who are clueless at the back and inept up front.

On that form we’ll be relegated. Thankfully I’ve seen enough in the other games to make me think we should just about stay up. We will not bother the top half or probably even mid table as we’re not good enough in the final third.

Desperately bad day and a huge black mark against Chris Beech today. I think a lot of people here have totally lost any faith they had in him after that.

That today is the lowest number of shots we’ve registered since Chris Beech has been in charge.
