He said british guy, so no fault but it shows clearly his young age not knowing legendary goalscorer Ian Rush.
Heard of him, just didn't recognize (with a z) him.

Media here are all saying how lucky Porto was and how unlucky Sporting was. As for Benfica after the good run we had last season i expect us to go through. We lost Renato Sanches and Gaitan but last season we beat Zenit with half our team out from injury or suspension, so that gives me hope.

Arsenal, Basel and Ludogorets for us. Piece of piss this. Will win 6 out of 6. Boring but at least we'll finish top.

I had to look again at this group because I was puzzled about the "for us". Stoke City isn't in the CL :D but then I realized you meant PSG.

Given the teams in Pot 1 us and CSKA would have been everyones favourite sides to get. And the Russians have more pedigree, though we have bought their top scorer so they're weakened. But we'll piss on Porto.

No problem, he is now gray (or better white) but his characteric nose is still there :D. In Germany we had the utmost respect for Ian Rush. He was some of the rare kind of what we call here "Torjäger (Goal-getter)" like our own Gerd Müller. I was pleased to see him again.

Porto aren't the side they used to be (Benfica has won the last three league titles). But they are capable of getting some big results against expectations. Last season they won at Benfica's stadium 1-2 against all odds and just this week they knocked out Roma 0-3 in Rome against all odds too after drewing 1-1 at Porto. I think Leicester should be wary of Porto.

Impressive result for Rostov last night hammering Ajax, can't remember them ever making it into the Champions League? Gladbach very dominant against Young Boys while Dinamo Zagreb also make it. As for the draw Arsenal will be thrilled while Spurs should also be relatively pleased, Manchester City should also come through their group, fancy Leicester City to make it through theirs as well.

Group A-
Paris St Germain
Arsenal
FC Basel
Ludogorets Razgrad

Group B-

The groups need shaking up, another boring year. There should be one pot for the champions and the rest should be in another. No keeping apart teams from the same country either.

Leicester will probably be the happiest of the English sides.

Boring group though. This is the only season they'll be in the CL so if I was a Leicester fan I'd want the big boys as soon as possible. Decent away days which are all easy to get to, mind.

Nah GG, the side that wins it is automatically in again next year, so we'll have another bash in 2017/18.

We just got beat by Hull, I'm sure we'll be wary of everyone in the group. While Porto will be well pleased they were drawn with us, they're equally one of the weaker sides in pot 2 so we should be pretty confident. It's also good for us to have sides in there that expect to beat us as it suits our game.

Not much prestige in the competition this year.
Amongst the English teams no previous winners, I take your point. However its refreshing seeing Spurs there and Leicester (who I still can't believe I'm typing Leicester when referencing the Champions League! :D ). Good luck to both.

Aye Rushey still looks pretty good, but he's never been the sharpest tool in the box and it still looks as if he's not a brain of Britain on today's performance.

I don't think he's kept himself very fit either, judging from the amount of heavy breathing he was doing trying to open those balls!

Why are no Arsenal fans commenting on our mouth-watering get together? Are you that lobotomized by Wenger that you don't give a shit about the CL anymore?

That's it! Always the same story, advancing to the Knockout Rounds as #2 and exit! So, why commenting about it.
Those were the days when Arsenal stood in the CL Final in 2006 against Barca. OK, they lost :D but at least they survived the K.O matches.
Wasn't our Jens Lehmann in Goal for the Gunners and wasn't he sent off early?....as I said before those were the days ;)

Favorable draw for Juve, I think we'll contend for the first place in the group with Sevilla. In general terms, there are many balanced groups. I've noticed a funny thing: in the Group E the team that was in the first pot is actually the weakest.

Sevilla lost top scorer Gameiro, playmaker Banega, Midfield lynchpin Krychowiak and manager Unai Emery. They're not going to be the same side that tripled the Europa league. I'd have been happy to have drawn them.

To be fair, our CL experiences are pretty much the same except that we get past the 1st ko stage. I can't see this changing this season as our squad was weakened by the departure of Zlatan who wasn't replaced.

Right, same could be said for PSG, even with Zlatan they couldn't advance to the finals. I mentioned it in the France Football Thread that I saw the PSG vs Mets match last weekend and it showed that they are playing well enough to win the League 1 again but to advance in the CL they are lacking a goalgetter. Cavani alone could have make 3 Goals in the match. Maybe it was only a momentarily lapse that he missed the big chances so carelessly or maybe it was only bad luck in this particular match. I don't watch PSG often enough to be an expert of their game.

But, maybe, it is also a chance for PSG in the CL without Zlatan. Maybe they aren't so predictable without the Swede upfront? I don't know

Nah, they're wank. Lucky if they come runner up to Arsenal. Then group winners Leicester can shit on them.

Last year they had lost Bacca, Aleix Vidal and Mbia, nevertheless they have won another Europa League. They are a solid team, always capable of replacing well the players they lose. For example this summer they've signed good players such as Kiyotake, Vàzquez, Ganso, Ben Yedder, Kranevitter and Vietto, so I think that they're still competitive. Furthermore Sampaoli is a good manager, even though he's not like Eemery.

Yaya Toure is out of the Manchester City CL squad and, as usual, his agent is piping up...

"‘They will lose a lot of millions of supporters from Africa because of this decision from Guardiola.

'Now they will support Manchester United. A lot of people in Africa say they will never see any more matches of City on TV.’"
