Nah normally I have it neat but sometimes I prefer a bit of a longer option so add a drop of ginger ale in. I don't buy super expensive stuff (usually what's down from £35 to about £25 in the supermarket ) but I don't drink often enough to justify buying a bottle for mixing and a bottle for neat stuff.

I'm kicking things off with this one tonight. It's not very nice but I'll drink it.

That Spitfire Kentish ale has given me the squits so I won't be partaking this evening. I hope to be back on it tomorrow evening though.

Finally a thread where I won't be shunned for my taste in alcoholic beverages.

I will be purchasing a selection of different beers and lagers for the weekend. In the meantime I have recently had a 1 litre bottle of this given as a gift.

Sorry it's not a picture of my actual bottle but I'm currently at work and bringing bourbon in is frowned upon. (That's what my hipflask is for)

Have a like, mate. Saw this in tesco yesterday, remember this post so gave it to try. Exceptionally smooth and pleasant to drink neat. And it's 90 proof :2thumb:

Another gift of bourbon today. Never tried this one before and considering I now have enough bourbon in the house to give the entire Union and Confederate forces a nip of Dutch courage before the battle of Gettysburg I reckon it'll be a while before I get around to it.

Jim Beam was from my youngest sister when she came back from a holiday. Bulleit was a birthday present from my brother.

I'm nicking into Tescos shortly for a few messages...the wife is remaining at home and is making sausage rolls for my breakfast. While at Tescos I shall be buying several more bottles of my wine cos my stock is going down.

Aye looks a bit too bling for me, trying to pretend its something its not. Marketing can go too far, look at this from Macallan for example :

macallan1824mastersseries.jpg

Charging a fortune because they look stylish and blingy, while the whisky itself is diluted, coloured and chill-filtered. Whereas something like this :

springbank-10-single-malt-scotch-whisky.jpg

Springbank 10 yo, which comes with a plain cardboard box, no faff on the lable or the bottle, is reasonably priced, with no chill-filtration or colourant added, and is all the better and tastier for it.

I've never drank Macallan, apparently they used to be absolutely superb and older bottles of the stuff go for a small fortune these days. However since their takeover, the quality of their spirits have apparently diminished, and they rely on their name and heavy marketing to stay a force in the whisky world. Shame.

many years ago when I frequented the pub I drank with a chap who swore by it and would drink nothing else. I've never tasted the stuff myself.

I'll be kicking things off with a San Miguel tonight.

Son of Cod recently blew my mind when he informed me that San Miguel, contrary to popular belief, is actually a Filipino beer.
