Do not think I have seen Colchester since the Championship days. Looking forward to this game as I believe Colchester can play an open passing game which is good to watch, though they have some speed which is I suspect the way to get past out two centre backs.

Pressure is growing on us, especially as the players seem to be talking things up a bit. Which clearly puts the mockers on things. I just want us to play the way I know we can.

I note Bastille are playing the Pavilions so I assume Woody will be in attendance.

For the first time in a long time I am confident in going into matches knowing that we can outscore our opponents. Going for another victory. Colchester not on great form, especially away from home.

2-0 to the greens in front of just shy of 9,000

I am not that confident yet. I am confident we won't let many in, but I don't yet have the feeling about scoring that I did the early part of last year.

I'd say nearer to 8,000, but I hope you are right.

Hope that the ref is okay? Looked a nasty one, clashed with Songoo who seemed to take him out low and he sort of cartwheeled down and his head hit the ground. Players and physios responded quickly, stretcher bearers less so. One of my colleagues is a doctor and she observed that the stretcher team did not seem to know what they were doing. In frustration at the speed of the first aiders one of the Colchester players grabbed the stretcher, and run with it to where it was needed.

First ten minutes was frenetic, then it calmed down and we dominated, and the goal was clearly coming. Then much later Colchester scored against the run of play, and then after that we never looked like we would score.

Then the key moment that changed it all. The referee was injured, and play was stopped for about ten minutes. Within seconds of the restart we scored - ball played long, goalie kicked it, our sub Donaldson jumped up ball hit him and delirium ensured as the ball slowly, slowly worked its way like Barnes-Wallis's bouncing bomb in to the goal.

Last ten minutes was very enjoyable, Colchester threw the kitchen sink, and with the space that opened up we counter-attacked. 2-1 is 2-1 but we were not convincing enough consistently.

Really hope the ref is okay, happened to my dad twice, once when he was reffing park football and once on the line at what would now be the Conference level. Not nice.

The referee collided with Jimmy Spencer and fell awkwardly. He heard had a crack, had a sore neck and pain in his back. He never passed out, and was 'fine' per se but precautions in such instances is to immobilise the head and neck and use a back board in case of spinal injuries. He was taken to hospital to have it checked out and int sounds as if he is okay.
