I'm sure Met Police were denied entry to the playoffs a few years back because they were a not-for-profit society rather than a limited company? Have they changed their structure now or have the rules changed?

Must have changed.

Last night was what supporting Wealdstone was all about - so many emotions going on but I need to see video footage of the 2rd and 3rd goals, the latter in particular sparked a rush in the away end that you often see in South America.

4 players injured last night, 3 of which were in the midfield so christ knows how we set out our stall on Sunday. Fully expecting to get pasted but I hope the players just give their all.

Edit: Glad to read Northy's injury isn't as bad as first feared, it looked awful at the ground last night.

So one out of Tonbridge, Merstham, Met Police or Poole will be joining us next season.

Come on the Dolphins!!
Frankly, come on anyone else. Even Tonbridge.

My preference as overall winner now would be Poole (new ground, although I went to the old one for a Trophy tie in 1982/3) followed by Merstham (local and easy to travel to) whose XI last night featured 8 ex-Hamlet players.

They sneaked into the Isthmian Premier play-offs in 2015 when Enfield Town were deducted points and lost the semi-final at Hendon. That's the only previous time they finished in the top 5 at Step 3.

Went to Woking v Wealdstone. Woking were dreadful for 60 minutes, then got a goal back as Wealdstone held back from attacking. Wealdstone then completely collapsed defensively. Woking really weren't great, and I'd have Welling as favourites for the final as Woking haven't been in good form for a while now.

We were exhausted and down to the bare bones, with probably the best keeper in the division, Jon North, unavailable due to the injury in the last round. Once they scored, the result was inevitable as our legs gave up.

This.

I thought we may get away with it when Ben Gerring hit the crossbar midway through the second half but when that first goal went in, our legs went, in fact had it gone to extra time then I think Woking would have bagged another 2 or 3. By the end we were essentially down to 10 men as Simon Mensah was visibly crocked. What an effort from the team today however, I couldn't be prouder of the effort.

Over to the board now to see if they can give BW a competitive budget for next season.

Absolute SCENES when the winner went in.

I think most of us had given up after 70 minutes being 2-0 down and playing terribly. Always going to have a chance from set pieces with Diarra (6’5) Cook (6’5) and Gerring (6’4). Just a shame we can’t defend them.

Have to play better to beat Welling on Sunday. We’ve already beaten them twice at home this season.

Oh and there was definitely more than “2,900” there.

Battle of the Frenchmen that always score against Woking.

Did Diarra get many goals for you?

Nah - he came to us having scored about 15 for Hemel the season before, so we thought he'd be lethal. Scored about 3 for us (I imagine), and missed a million free headers.

He missed about a million free headers in his first 5/6 games for us but has scored 2 in his last 3. Was always going to score eventually when his legs reach the opposition defenders’ chest.

Getting into the spirit of things, where can we get a decent away allocation and is best for a drink out of these two? They have my full support.

Was gutted that Wealdstone lost, went there a few times while I was at uni down in London and always struck me as a very sound bunch.

Scratch that, all Welling if Thierry Audel is there. Lovely bloke.

Welling is a small ground but at least you’ll get a whole side with a stand in it. Woking just give you an uncovered side terrace that is 8 steps high.

Although you do get the end of their ludicrously oversized stand behind the goal.
