Yep, think this year might be a step too far but loving that we're in it and delighted some of these talented lads we've got will get their chance.

A quick question for the FGR contingent.

I will be getting to the game really late next Monday (probably just after kick off) and I wondered where would be best to park at that time ? I am assuming the car park will be full and I know the streets nearby get pretty rammed.

Any advice appreciated.

You have a dilemma.
Sometimes the field opposite ground opens up but only in dry weather.
Otherwise park your car in Nailsworth and hire a taxi.
I'm not sure if the park and ride will be in operation after match starts but it would be much quicker by a pre-booked taxi.
Sorry for not being more helpful but parking is a big problem on match days.

Why?

Biggest games we've ever been involved in, highest ever finish, record crowd yesterday, South Stand was rocking. If you can't enjoy times like these it begs the question why bother?

I can't bloody wait, the lads have done brilliant this season and I'm looking forward to giving them my full backing next week.

We could be going to Wembley for the third time in four years. Not many fans get to see their club do that.

I'm just getting that feeling Tranmere owe us one! I was genuinely confident against at Wembley the other year, but I'm not feeling it this time.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. No reason why we can't win, but same time they could well beat us. That's the thing that makes football what it is, unpredictable and exciting as fuck. Guaranteed wins are boring.

One thing I know is I'm gonna fucking enjoy it, nothing better then supporting your side in some of the biggest games in it's history. So many top people who helped build this club have passed away without ever seeing these highs, we're lucky we're here to witness it.

Yep bang up for it. And Of course we fucking are birkenhead tranny, we've played in front of bigger crowds this season.

Parking is always a pain in the arse RLC other then what FGR Stroud suggested the only thing I would say is turn right at the roundabout and drive down the hill a bit, there's a few side roads you might find a space in on the housing estate, although by that time might be tough. I've even knocked on someone's door and asked for permission to park in their drive once.

If the field is open then there might be spaces left, worth ringing the club (if you can get through)

The crowd only matters when you’re down to 10 men, or under the cosh in the final 10 minutes trying to hold on. Players are motivated enough at the start of games.

I don’t think there’s much between the two teams and unless either side wins by 3 or more on Friday any result would still be possible on the Monday.

Clearly FGR will shithouse if they take the lead, so Tranmere need to score first or be able to rise above it all if FGR do.

It’s nowhere near our biggest or most important game as a club, but another promotion would continue our momentum, which if we finally get our money out of China could see us challenging in league one too. But nowhere near the same consequences as the last time we played FGR in the playoffs.

Thanks. I rang the club but apparently they don't know whether the field is being used until next week.

So then Chris (or anyone else)... I've been to Nailsworth three times and each time's been the same - there's nothing to do. Excluding the first time, where I had the entertainment of watching three drunk paras terrify the well off folk in the big pub in the village. So... anywhere to eat, anywhere to drink, or just anything in general to do in Nailsworth?

I was going to say check out the weaving shed at Gigg Mill, bit of industrial heritage and a fuck off great water wheel, but it's closed Mondays :D

So there goes my plan of leaving home at 12 and killing a few hours somewhere.

Edit; commiserations to those who don’t have enough supporters club points to get a ticket. Meanwhile I’ll casually stroll into the club shop at 1pm on Wednesday..

The Village Inn is decent, next door to Walkers Fish and Chips and they let you bring them in. The Britannia sounds like the pub you mentioned that's decent and there are a couple of other pubs plus Egypt Mill which is pretty posh.

There's an Indian restaurant called Passage to India next to the Tesco Express if you fancy a curry. There's also a beer tent for away fans outside the stadium.
