We were very fortunate to defeat Warrington in 90 minutes, a dive soft penalty and keeper blunder was enough to see us through. No doubt we'll get Brackley in the draw later so they can knock us out 2 years running.

Harrogate or Billericay away - cracking draw that and one in which we'd be underdogs irrespective of who gets through.

A home draw? What is this witchcraft?! Gateshead are the worst side I have ever seen beat us, and I look forward to it happening again.
That Gateshead game was something else.

I'm in no doubt we will comfortably beat them next round if they progress past Maidstone - we're so much better than we were under Davis when we got done 0-2.

Incidentally, the Crabble was a solid non-league away ground and a cracking win.

Happy to finally get a home draw at least, sounds boring but I am happy as well to avoid playing a side a league or two below us.

Having watched Haringey Borough and Bogner Regis both raise their games against us as if they were both playing in a cup final and push us quite hard, I can imagine if we got someone like Billericay, They'd have played the game against us like it was their last.

A replay away at Gateshead would be mammoth on such short notice, as Maidstone will find out tomorrow............

Clearly they dont believe in defending at East Thurrock. A 7-2 and 4-0 defeat recently in the league and now 5-2 down at Home to Spennymoor who have scored 2 with 10 men.

Quarter Finals:

Stockport County v Brackley Town
Billericay Town v Wealdstone
Leyton Orient v Gateshead
Bromley v Spennymoor Town

Right then, thats two days booked off work for a nailed on replay three days later, where we will probably lose on penalties.

Billericay will beat Wealdstone, Bromley should beat Spennymoor and I'd expect Brackley to edge past Stockport.

Id laugh if Bromley are forced to a replay and have to embark on yet another long trek North

I know it's only the Trophy, etc...But that was one of the best games I've been to I'm quite some time. Absolutely battered them in the first half and should have been out of sight. Conceded two very sloppy goals in the second half. Cue the usual time wasting antics. Pull back two goals from pretty much nowhere at the death. Get a third early on in ET. Get a man sent off and hold on with ten men, with our keeper saving at point blank range in the last seconds.

Special mention to Darren Stephenson, who put in one of the best performances I've seen in a County shirt since we dropped to non-league. He's looked excellent going forward for the last few games, bit his tracking back - even 120 mins in - was like having an extra player. Gannon should get credit for sticking with him because he looked absolutely woeful when he first joined.

Given our home form I see no reason not to be confident of getting past Brackley.

I watched you lose to FC United in an FA Cup replay back in October, when you didn't beat 9 men - Would you say your team has moved forwards since then? Just Curious to be honest!

It's a typical season under Jim Gannon to be honest. Start pretty well, tread water between Oct and Dec and then start motoring in the new year (with one or two hiccups)

Squad is looking strong and together now. Despite a number of absentees last night we were the better side against a National League side. We just need to repeat our home form when we're away.

Looking forward to the run in. If we make the play offs, I wouldn't bet against us winning them.

I think as it stands we're just short of play-off quality. We're very good going forward and, unusually for this level, are quite comfortable in possession. However, our defence has too many mistakes in it, and as soon as we come under a bit of pressure we panic and start conceding silly goals. If we got that sorted I'd be very confident of making the play-offs.

Can you at least let me know what the score will be so I can make some money off it?

Have to talk amongst ourselves for the quarter finals, considering there’s only two non-tinpotters left and Stockport fans are a rare breed on here.

Gateshead are absolutely the worst side I’ve ever seen us lose to, and can see us can doubling up in front of my very eyes for a glorious 0-3.
