Halifax 1-0 Stalybridge.

Awful performance. We were saved by a penalty which I wasn't sure why it was awarded and Stalybridge hitting the post twice. Our defence is a shambles (maybe as bad as alfreton's) and we are too predictable and one dimensional. I'm sure everyone knows our one tactic by now. Crop everyone and HOOOOOOOOOFFF to Denton

Alfreton 1-0 Harrogate (Dan Bradley 32)

Nicky tried a new approach (at last) and we looked totally transformed. Ryan Wilson played Right back, the new lad (Edmunson) from Oldham looks quality and was deservedly MOTM with Todd Jordan doing ok in a defensive midfield role.

We were much move solid, combative in midfield and just generally more measured instead of everything being done in a rush.

There was not a lot between the sides for much of the game in an eagerly contested affair. Quality finish from Dan Brads on what could be his final goal for the club.

We certainly rode our luck second half too with Knowles beating the offside before trying an aradcious chip over the hapless Spiess before the ball bounced off the post accross the line and in to Spiess arms!
Harrogate also struck the bar with the last kick of the game but I think we deserved the luck as we were vastly improved.

Was great to see Joe Leesley and Andi Thanoj back at the impact and both were fairly ineffective too! Thanks boys!

Much needed win and plenty of postives today after the unacceptable car crash of a performance v Worcester.

We absolutely destroyed Altrincham today. I thought Worcester were bad a few weeks back but this lot are on a whole new level. We missed a sitter in the first few minutes and the new Spanish lad hit a beaut of a strike that hit the crossbar with his first touch. Could have been seven or eight. They had one shot that I can recall, it was that dominant. Hopper got a hattrick within ten minutes. We're moving ever closer away from relegation

Oh well another mid-table National League North finish it is - it could be worse we could be Altrincham.

Didn't go, but I read on our forum that it was "a new low". Oh Neil, what have you done?
I read an interview with Jim Harvey on our website, in which he stated that the budget is all used up, too.

It looks like it will be a huge Manchester Relegation dogfight with altrincham, Stalybridge and Curzon all going to be involved and certainly at least one of them will drop down a level.....add in BPA and worcester also into the group which seem to be awful most weeks.

I just watched the Gloucester goals. The 5th was an utter comedy of errors. Danny Hattersley is brushed aside like a kitten, which for a man of six feet plus, and 14/15 stone, demonstrates what can only be described as a spectacular dearth of testicular fortitude, as Stuey Griffin might say.

Tim Deasy's letting through his arms a shot travelling at approximately 3.4 miles per hour was also perversely impressive.

So yes, there is every chance we are fooked already. Gloucester City fans describing you as a new level of bad, is indeed a new level of bad (no offence intended)

Anyone who has read the Alty forum will be aware I was quite a critic of Kyle Perry when he played for us. As bad as he was (and he was), I'd pick him over Hobson and Hattersley. In fact, he'd be a focking superstar in this shower of a side

None of those teams are in Manchester :lac:

Anyway, if today was anything to go by, we've got more chance of joining the battle at the wrong end of the table than the right. :hb:

We are Stockport County. There is always a chance we can go down. Finding new depths to sink too is what we do.

Obviously we won't really be anywhere near a relegation scrap. But we weren't too far off one last year after Neil Young took us on a run of something like one win in twelve games and has us losing at home to side who hadn't won for months.

Bit disappointed with only our first away point of the season at Stockport. Probably our most assured performance. Carried a threat, knew what we were doing when we got the ball and reduced the number of errors at the back (even though we got away with one before half time and should've cleared just before their goal).

Another solid performance from us yesterday, although saying that I thought Salford were an awful footballing side. They were a very aggressive side, who seemed to want the opposition to fear them, but not because of their footballing ability. I said to my mate yesterday that there would be a red card and there should have probably been two, excluding the red card which was actually given.
I can see why the ref gave it, it was needless and forced, through the back, in a position where Mani wasn't in danger of threatening the goal at all.

Defence was assured as ever, really limited Salford to any chances all afternoon, closest they came was the opening 10 minutes. I think Lowe and Tunnicliffe are forming a formidable partnership at the heart of the defence, something we haven't had since Gowling/Dunkley!

Midfield trio were exceptional, in particular Croasdale who I rate higher every time I see him, keeps possession well, breaks up play and keeps things ticking. He is certainly more assured than Fane, even if he isn't as physical - great find by Eustace. McQuilkin busy as ever and Ngtwalala at times was unplayable - he does seem to run out of steam on the half hour mark which is strange and is a worry.

Up top, I can see why Austin struggles to get a game, when he came on in the last 10 minutes, he doesn't help out defensively at all, and I could've seen us concede a goal from that right side yesterday as Tyrone was too exposed. Defensively, Waite is a much better option even if his end product is absolutely woeful. Feel sorry for Mani, too isolated and can tell he isn't really a goalscorer. I think we need to find a proven goalscorer and I think we will be asking questions as to whether we can win the title. Excluding the 6 goals at Curzon, 9 goals in 9 games is extremely poor although obviously our defensive record is on the other end of the spectrum.

Fantastic crowd of nearly 2,000 home fans.

We both had our chances to win the game. I think a draw was a fair result, but if we had lost I wouldn't have come away thinking we were robbed or anything. I thought Boston looked decent enough, with St Juste proving that any side with a decent wide player who can put in a cross is guaranteed to score against our pretty shaky back four. Lloyd looked to be the only forward player really capable of doing anything. Amis again showed that he is not capable of playing as a lone striker after spending 70 odd mins falling on his arse, and again Odejaye did more within 30 seconds of coming on and playing that role than Amis had done all game. Someone needs to let Meppen-Walter know that being a defensive midfielder means you occasionally have to chase down a player and make a challenge, rather than vaguely stroll around the area just in front of the centre-halves. We at the very best look like a mid-table side at the moment.

I thought Chorley looked decent last night, Carver (? - the number 9) and Walker were a handful. Yes, it was good to see O'Keefe hasn't suddenly transformed into a world beater over the summer. If he'd scored instead of punting that ball into the Cheshire night sky, I wouldn't have been happy. Has Leather been playing at right back all season? He filled in there (and left back) quite regularly for us over the past couple of years.
we play 5 at the back with wing backs, he was right centre back. Class player.

4 points dropped from last 2, should've beat alty and brackley were there for the taking first half.

In light of the 5 games before we met, and the 1 game since, I'm frankly amazed you failed to beat us.

Here's the highlights of our game with Salford.

I'm sure you'll all agree with their fans that our players just rolled on the floor and dived and our poor gamesmanship should be punished.

Halifax are apparently taking our young striker Alex Simmons on a three month loan.

Not really going to get a look in here, so it'll be good for him to get some games.

Yes was a deserved victory, we offered very little apart from the bar and post in the second half. Just as Law changed it for the better, we changed the team and formation for reasons unknown given our good run, which ensured no continuity in play. We were shite for 90mins. Very impressed with the forward line you have. Really thought there were going to be a lot of goals in the game!

First visit to your place and really liked it. Nice welcome in the bar from one of your directors when we arrived and a lot of friendly fans to chat to. Good array of food outlets and bogs! Loved the fact we parked 20metres from the away turnstile.

No surprise to see Cecil going awol, would have been good to see Clayts come on, Hearns performance not a surprise – heads gone candidate at least once a season. All our lot were subdued so good for you with Leesley’s return who has got better every game – apart from this one!

Tonight we take on cash splashers AFC Fylde of Kirkham.

I predict a goal fest with out very leaky defence matched with Fylde having scored 32 times in the opening 10 games!

Prediction.....County 2 - 6 Fylde!

Home to another cash splasher, Salford City, not really sure what to expect, think we might just Nick this one by the odd goal in three. Hoping for a good turnout crowd wise.

We play Alfreton, who despite a 1-0 home win over Harrogate on Saturday, had prior scored 23 & Conceded 29 in the first 9 games.
Our defence are in for a test but hopefully our goal shy attack will get chances.
Either 0-0 or 3-3

If you do win expect them to blame your gamesmanship and the ref.
