Bury visit in form Sheffield United on Tuesday on the back of 11 defeats in 12, and more recently, 1-4, 5-0 and 5-1 defeats.

Conversely Sheffield United have hit a rich vein of form and the odds of a home win are surely nailed on. Two completely contrasting forms here.

My honest prediction: Sheffield United 7-0 Bury.

We had Freeman, Coutts and Duffy all go off injured at the weekend. All will be a big loss, presumably Basham will move into CM, Brown at RWB and Scougall for Duffy. Will be interesting to see how Brown does, the other 2 should be ok.

1-0 win will do fine. We don't know all 3 will be missing, coutts especially at 2 nil against 9 men why risk carrying on so he could be fine , freeman been brilliant so hope he's not out long, we should still be able to beat a really out of form bury

Form would suggest 5-0

But we are well overdue a poor performance.
Also we have 3 first teamers (Duffy, Coutts and Freeman) that hobbled off on a Saturday are are now injury doubts for tomorrow night, so it's likely we'll have a weakened team.

My prediction
Blades 2 Bury 0
Think Bury will defender in numbers and make it a tough/ frustrating game
Predict a workman like performance from us not up to our recent high standards

We don't defend never mind do it in numbers. It'll be a comfortable win, just depends on United on how big it'll be.

We did the double over you lot last year, 3-1 and 1-0. Would take a draw right now. We have put in some dreadful performances since September. I hope Pope and Jones play some part tonight. We have missed them both badly. Think Rabchuka may make his debut in goal tonight. We will play a 442 formation I think. Big effort needed by us tonight. Your in form, we are slipping down the league. David v Goliath. Can lightning strike for a 3rd time. Come on Bury.

Hopefully Sheffield Utd win this, sounds daft but the longer this unbeaten run goes on surely it gets closer to being ended?

Hopefully this Saturday :cool1:

Fucking get in there. I've not celebrated a goal as much in league one at bramall lane for years. Dominated for 90 mins but bury were brilliant defensively in the 2nd half with 10 men. I genuinely felt a bit sorry for them but wins like these build towards bigger and better things. Utb

Talk about parking the bus.

Burys tactics from the beginning were not to lose. Made no attempt to even try and score a goal.
Sat back and defended in numbers meaning our defenders were redundant.
Think Bury got out of their half about 5 times but only committed about 3 players forward when attacking.
Had 1 shot in the whole match, which was off target , a shot from distance that just flew past the post.

We totally dominated especially in the 2nd half as it became like a training session, attack versus defence but there was no space and clear cut chances were proving difficult to create.

Must admit, I did have some sympathy for Bury. At the final whistle some of their players collapsed on the floor and looked distraught. They defenderd like warriors tonight and our only hope was a bit of luck during numerous times the ball was ricocheting round their box like in a pin ball machine.

But of course we thoroughly deserved the win in the end.

Was a weird game, as expected Bury came to stifle and park the bus and it nearly payed off, fair play.

It was attack v defence we didn't seem to break a sweat and almost assumed the goal would come...thankfully it did. Despite Bury defending well we still had two clear cut chances in the first half and the amount of ricocheting around the box the ball did it could easily have been more comfortable.

Would always take a 1-0 win before a game though. Tough next game away to a Charlton side now brimming with confidence.

Erm you do understand why we did that don't you? Please tell me you do.

Our confidence has been rock bottom for a while. We need a result for somewhere anywhere! Whoever takes over has a big job on their hands. God knows who's going to play at the back on Saturday mind.

You were outstanding in the 2nd half at defending we never had a really clear cut chance. Roll on 2nd January , I hope you don't go down I have full respect for clubs fans of the likes of Bury, Rochdale, Oldham. Must be hard work

Totally agree with every word of that Blademan.

TA, agree, fair enough.
They do say to turn a team around, just concentrate on not conceding first.
Make the team hard to beat. Get a few 0-0's and once the defence is sorted then move onto to scoring.

I was also impressed with your fans tonight. There were about 20 young lads at the back of the stand. I was sat near them and they were singing non stop. Thought your players showed real effort tonight. You could tell they were giving everything to stop the rot.

I hear Ebanks-Landell is playing well for you, we may recall him in January but he says he wants to stay until the end of the season.

Paul,

EEL has played 14 matches for us and we've won 11, drawn 3, lost 0.
He's yet to taste defeat so no wonder he's happy playing for Sheff Utd.

I wonder how much control EEL has regards a call back?
He may want to stay at SU until the end of the season but what if Wolves insist in a recall?
Then I would imagine he'll return back to Wolves whether he likes it or not.
