Disappointing not to force the issue with Derby but really can't be too harsh on the team. The last 5 games have been like a microcosm of our season. Didn't play exactly brilliantly last night and again had a slow start conceding early but hit the woodwork twice and could have easily won. Same against Portsmouth where we hit the post twice. and the referee missed a handball in the last minute of injury time and could /should have given a penalty. Hit the post at Stevenage when we drew so quite unlucky, saying that we could have gone behind at both Bristol Rovers and Stevenage through utterly terrible defending errors which have been a feature all season , particularly away from home since January. Also could have conceded a penalty against Portsmouth but it was a tussle in our box, 6 of one half a dozen of the other, subjective. We all seem to miss numerous straight forward chances. Not a good combination. At home our forward play was sometimes sublime (Reading) but the away form ultimately wasn't good enough.
I'm only going off posts on here but would it be fair to say that despite being the second top scorers, you don't always seem *that* clinical? Defensively you're a little off Portsmouth and Derby as well so is it a case of fine margins over the course of a season and/or a sticky patch of form in the last 6 weeks or so?

As for us, still in Oxford's hands and they have the easier of the two remaining games. I'm still amazed we're in with a shout with two games to go.

Oxford - Stevenage (h), Exeter (a)
Lincoln - Cheltenham (a), Portsmouth (h)
Blackpool - Barnsley (h), Reading (a)

Can't see Barnsley dropping out but they have Blackpool (a), Northampton (h)

Well done Pompey, good effort with the injury issues as well. Pleased for Scully, Morrell and Poole even if they've probably not had too many appearances between them this season!

You keep on the piss until next weekend please! :D

They're on the piss again today apparently!

As for the former Lincoln players - Scully has been injured most of the season so hasn't made an impression. Morrell was one of our unsung heroes before his season ending injury in February and Poole would have been a contender for our player of the season had he not got injured for the season back in November.

Best and most consistent team go up as Champions, FairPlay.

Personally, gutted to see them go. Portsmouth vs Charlton has been one of the best fixtures in L1 in recent years in my opinion (not just because of our record at FP), usually good crowds, sold out away ends and generally been good games. One of the few games in this league with a bit of bite, will miss it.

Charlton away is the best away day for me. Its a shame you are not coming up with us. I reckon you'll be up there next season you'll be my tip to win it.

How are Grimsby doing?
Grimsby Town FC are currently 21st in League 2 with 46 points from 44 games played.
We have won 10 drew 16 and lost 18 of those 44 games played.
We have scored 55 and conceded 72 goals in those 44 games played.
In the EFL Cup we were knocked out in the first round 2-0 by Mansfield Town.
In the FA Cup we were knocked out in the Second Round 2-0 by Oxford Utd.

Is that enough information or do you require any more mucker?
