Needless to say, I haven't taken today's news well.

After spending 13 years erect for Harrison Dunk, it might be a sense of relief cracking out both the happy tissues and the sad tissues.

But still, an all time legend. Statue now mandatory.
Name the Paul Mullin stand after him.

Jones was a really important player in our promotion out of NL. He never stops running so is a perfect Parky player. Popped up with some important goals too.

He's picked up an injury this year so hasn't featured as much, and unfortunately for him Andy Cannon has been brilliant in his position, but is well thought of and I'm sure he's still in Parkys plans.

He also wins the pre season bleep test contest every single season. Hell of an engine.
He had a weird year here. Started off very well, plateaued a bit, got Covid and was waaaayyy off the pace on his return (one of three or four who got it).

Then you bought it him at the end of the season and it was "oh, well, that was a bizarre season for him". I can't even remember whether anyone had any strong views on the move, the move just kinda happened and was forgotten about.

Goalkeepers:
Jack Stevens - As described to us when we signed him, started well but fell to pieces the first minute things started going wrong. Under contract, but try and get rid.
Will Mannion - Generally solid and unspectacular, but has a howler in him and a habit of watching balls go past him (though wad worse last season). Out of contract, keep only as backup to new keeper.
James Holden - Who? Release
Louis Chadwick - Saw him a lot for St Neots, won't be good enough, release.

Defenders:
Liam Bennett - The only truly saleable asset we have right now, keep, but subject to interest from elsewhere
Michael Morrison - Out of contract, sounds like he's staying, fine with that
Ryan Bennett - The not giving a shit spiel has worn a bit thin this season, been good the last few weeks, but release
Zeno Ibsen Rossi - Looked good when he's played the last few weeks, but injured again now and that has been the case the last 2 years. Under contract, but try to shift if possible.
Jubril Okedina - If Rossi could stay fit, I would try to get rid, but because Rossi can't stay fit, probably keep, 4th choice though.
Mamadou Jobe - The only other player with future resale value, keep.
Danny Andrew - My player of the season, been excellent, keep.
James Gibbons (loan) - Not good enough, no thanks.
Harrison Dunk -

Midfielders:
Paul Digby - Reliable, 6/10 every week, we need a few of those because of our standing in the league, needs a proper ballplayer alongside him though. Keep.
Jordan Cousins - Liability for most of the season, undoubtedly far too expensive for what he's given us, and too similar to Digby to play them together. Release.
Adam May - Didn't rate him pre-ACL injury, been even worse since he came back, Release.
George Thomas - Under contract, out with ACL injury, will miss a large chunk of next season. Wasn't impressed with him when he played this year. Keep because we have to, but pretend he isn't here for squad building.
Elias Kachunga - Don't get it, he is woeful, and expensive, release.
Jack Lankester - Under contract, not got a look in under Monk, generally flattered to deceive in his time here, but has his moments. Keep, but needs to work his way into starting XI.
Sullay Kaikai - Started OK, did well under Harris, but mostly anonymous and underwhelming. Also high earner, release.
James Brophy - Terrible goals and assist record, but like Digby, a solid 6/10 most weeks, and I like him, keep.
Saikou Janneh - Release
Glenn McConnell - Youngster, keep, but look for L2 loan
George Hoddle - As above
Lewis Simper - Not good enough, release.

Forwards:
Gassan Ahadme (loan) - Keep if we can, suspect he will have other suitors, can be frustrating but can't argue with his goals record this year
Lyle Taylor - Don't let the door hit you on the way out
Macauley Bonne (loan) - As above
Fejiri Okenabirhie - Good player, muscles made of cheese strings, we won't make that mistake again, release.
Brandon Njoku - Keep, but loan to a Conference team.

This is bang on for me, a lot of work for monk and strang to do but I’m I’m hopeful.

Gibbons has been full of endeavour but unfortunately I just don’t see enough quality in him.
Gassan is a must to keep if possible, didn’t rate him at first but he’s certainly won me round, absolute handful when he’s on it.
Fejiri is the frustrating one for me, he’s a good player but has been injured far to much.

Looking forward for monk putting his stamp on the side.

Thought your best player comfortably yesterday was Brophy. He stood out as one player with some actual ability on the ball.

Brophy looks like a Championship player carrying the ball and a Sunday league player when he has to cross or shoot.

I see the value in him but what is it, 1 goal in 150+ appearances? Only a handful of assists too. That's ludicrously bad for a player who's played as a wide forward for most of those games. I'd keep if we're planning on playing wing backs but we can't carry him in a more attacking role.

Personally I'd try to move on Lankester and Digby to replace with better, but agree with the other decisions above. Mega clearout required.

Think I'd be tempted to sign up Gibbons, and the heart wants Rossi to work but alas he's no good chilling with the Dolmio man. Otherwise completely in accordance with my thoughts. Brophy is hands down our most remarked upon player by opposition fans after Lennett and maybe Gassan (for better or worse, you notice the lad) but the Championship/Sunday league angle is still more than fair.

Andrew has been very good, I just wish it didn't mean killing Dunk to make it happen.

Ah, classic Broph. Meep meeps past the fullback and then cuts the ball back to the nearest covering midfielder who starts a counter-attack. Never change, Electric Squirrel.
