In the main I agree with you, some strange decisions all around I thought, but if it’s the “push” I’m thinking of then I’m sorry from my side on view it was a clear dive!

There was a clear trip by Potts in the left back position around the same period inntbe game that I thought looked a blatant foul and I think is a better illustration of your point!

The one where McNulty was on his way through on goal, complete obstruction.

On the whole refereeing in this league is very poor, well below the standard of even League 1.

That is some freekick.

The best thing is how laid back the lad was. He is only 20 and has played barely 90 minutes of football in his career yet.

Got the ball, stepped a few yards back and smacked it one, no stupid stances or puffing of the cheeks.

Aside from the performance, a brilliant away day today.

Went to Kenilworth Road for our pre-season game against Luton 3 years ago and loved the place then. Was even better today. Brilliant acoustics, close to the home fans, close to the pitch and an all-round good atmosphere. Dare I say it reminded me of the good old days back at Highfield Road.

I might be wrong here but under the fairly new rules, shouldn’t the red card have just been a yellow? He’s tried to get the ball and missed I’m sure that an attempt to play the ball is no longer a straight red.

Only if it was a penalty, which it wasn't.

The curse of being top. Two games since we got there and two disappointing performances. Today we were up against a team that had a plan to stop us playing. I've seen this too many times with Luton when we play it around at the back get pressured by a team who press high up the field. We resort to playing it square, back to the keeper or knocking a high long ball upfield which is easily defended by the opposition. At times we looked nervous in possession, nobody taking the iniative and mistakes being made. Coventry were almost gifted another in the first half.
You could sense we weren't going to score despite having some clear cut efforts which was down to our own frustration and desperation. A couple of weeks ago those chances would have been converted. NJ and his management team will need to look at how to deal with this type of oppostion. We knew what Coventry's game plan was going to be and yet we played into their hands. Too many had an off day and it may be time to tinkle a little with the first XI next week for the cup game. Would like to see Stacey rested and JJ brought in. Elliot Lee for Collins and the likes of D'ath and Gambin given a run. Disappointed today as we need to make our home games count especially against our promotion rivals. However I'm sure we'll bounce back and start a new unbeaten run.

Coventry committed 19 fouls and "game managed" from the moment they scored their first = 1 yellow card.

Luton commit 8 fouls = 3 yellows + 1 red.

As noted above, there was some strange inconsistency throughout the game for both sides.

God you lot are bitter!! We thoroughly deserved that win. Superb away support didn’t hear the home crowd st all. Shame really should have been bouncing in there. Referee was shocking again

I called it a “deserved victory” and that you “played us perfectly”.... Belize has been complimentary too. Please don’t mistake Kenneth for all Luton fans!

Hang on a second. I said it was the right result last night.
I was just reaffirming the lack of consistency from the refereeing on both sides, which was touched on by other posters before - hardly "bitter".

Stop attacking the poster, rather than the post. There's your bite.

In your summation of the game it does rather come across a sign you think Coventry were rather fortunate.

You more or less state that with your “harder you work the luckier you get” line....

That and with the ref moans too it does come across a little bitter.

So, no, I think my shot at you there was justified on the basis of your posts as well as your history!

I will concede however that it wasn’t as bad as I previously thought and you did say it was the right result so, fair enough.

Sorry this is nonsense. What is history? I've made more than 2,000 posts on this forum. You quoted one post.

"The harder you work the luckier you get” - this is a famous Gary Player quote. Coventry worked harder than Luton yesterday and wanted it more and as such they got 'the run of the ball'. They strangled us; didn't allow us to play.

The Coventry poster is probably referring to meltdown on Outlaws rather than what's been posted on here. No bitterness from us. We posted how we saw the game, i.e. that Coventry had a game plan which counteracted our style of play. They scored two injury time goals which gave an unfair scoreline. Before that we had some great chances to score, Elliot Lee, Berry and Hylton all missing chances they normally put away. A decent away performance by Coventry but we weren't firing on all cylinders. They deserved the win.
As regards our support yesterday. A little unfair to say we were quiet. At times we got behind the team but as so often happens the frustration on the pitch is reflected in the atmoshphere. Obviouly we can't match the bouncing that goes on at the Ricoh every week. (insert appropriate emoji - can't be arsed)

You’re the one who mentioned attacking the poster rather than the post, thought that was you referring to your reputation on here so that’s where it came from.

Dont particularly care who the quote is from but thanks for enlightening me on that score, it came across that way that’s all.

Apologies if that’s a mis reading of what you were trying to say, I should know all about that sort of thing as I seem to have started something about teams growing their grass long without meaning too!

The Luton Town forum really is awful. Horrible lay out, and some very strange comments.

As always, you are referred to the disclaimer:

What you read on here is 100% conjecture, fiction, lies, bullshit and complete bollocks. If you want to be taken seriously, you are in the wrong place.

Just watched the 10 min highlights. Looks like on another day this one could've easily been a 2-2 draw, or a narrow 3-2 Cov win, though I'm well aware that 10 min highlights do not tell the whole story. That Shipley freekick sure was some goal, and there was nothing that Stech could do to stop that. He also didn't have a hope in hell with the opener, another very good goal IMO.

Yeah, Luton had chances. Burge made some very good saves and also Luton were wasteful. Thought we were very good and that was a brilliant away perforance. Fair play to Robins. Started Ponticelli and made all three subs.

I'm just happy that we have played far better than we have been latel and have scored three goals. No leaue goals were scored by us this month so pleased we got three.

Racist behaviour from a Coventry fan or fans before the game yesterday (around 1:30).

Not sure if it’s just me but this sort of thing seems to be happening more and more at our games. Heard a couple of chants this year and saw on the Stevenage forum the other week that some of theirs were acting similarly.

I would say it’s unbelievable that this is still happening in 2017 but the way things are going these days it’s actually really not.

Without linking the two, does Tommy Robinson still go to Luton games?

I've not seen him for a while, but he was attending with his kids and caused absolutely no issues whatsoever.

May be in the minority but I thought a draw was a fair result. Cov managed the game well and looked solid as you like at the back but we still had chances. Great save from the keeper from Hylton's volley, and Hylton missed the ball completely just after that too when the goal was gaping. Had 2 scrambles one which resulted in a clearance off the line and so many nearly moments without ever getting out of 1st gear.

Cov game plan was good and they deserved a point, perhaps 3 I'm not sure. 0-3 is an extremely flattering scoreline however and on another day we win that 2-1 and it's the old "winning when you don't play well" cliché.

We've had a good month, 10 from those 15 available everyone would've took. Nice little break from the league now to get a few refreshed and raring to go for the busy run up to Christmas.

I said at the start of the season Luton and Coventry would make up 2 of the top 3 and I stand by it.

On the balance we were poor compared to usual. Due to Coventry in a large part, but we were off too. Didn't look at all sharp in front of goal. Could easily have been a draw or nicked a win but Coventry had a few scrambles and hit the bar so it could also have been worse.

Reality is we chased the game put our only dedicated centre half up front to try and nick a goal and lost two more on the break. Almost carbon copy of Swindon. Dissapointing to get tonked on paper by a rival.........but we recovered from that pretty well last time.
