The dingle derby. I confess I don't even know what a dingle is, just something from Emmerdale?

Anyway we really should be looking at all 3 points here. No disresprct meant to Barnsley, but for a team looking to get promoted would expect nothing less than a home win here (cue we lose 4-0 like last season). Apparently 26k home tickets sold so far too, Barnsley in the upper North Bank stand so I doubt they are bringing much.

Ruddy
Coady - Batth - Miranda
Doherty -------------------- Douglas
Neves - Saiss
Cav' ---------------- Jota
Bonatini
Prediction: 2-0 home win. Bonatini and Doherty to score.

We'll be bringing 800 odd. Never travel well to Wolves (probably partly because we always lost at Molineux until last season) and we've not started the season particularly well.

Both teams are totally different propositions to the last time this fixture was played (Wolves in a good way, us in a not so good way) and I fear we could be on the end of another West Midlands hiding after Villa tonked us last weekend. We put up a good fight at Spurs though and have a few handy players that could cause a few problems for Wolves in Hammill, Moncur and Barnes. However, I'd definitely take a point if offered that now.

I predict an upset here. 2-1 to Barnsley. Just a feeling. These are games we struggle with every season.

Heart says 5-0 Wolves, of course. Jota brace, Cav brace, Ruddy to get a late fifth after a sweeping pass from Cody. (He of the sweeping passes and a four year contract. You really thought he was going to go to Sheff Utd?? "On the 'ead, Conor! On the 'ead!!")

Bright Enobakhare grabbed two in two now. Both hopefully going to be winners. Remember when you said he was shit Mark!?

The result was harsh on Barnsley. Very similar to last week vs Notts Forest, we weren't at our best but still won. Sign of a team that can win promotion though... last year we would have drawn or lost games like that.

What a nob, the game experience is less than 2 hours for flip sake, compare that to some of the crap you put up with during the week and I don't know why you'd leave early, ever.

Yeah hope so, bit like the L1 year under Jackett where we were unconvincing and not really clicking until after Xmas, however were still 2nd or 3rd heading into the window, and then the new signings and the system he changed to gelled. Expect us to add at least 2 players in Jan too.

Sounds like we gave a good account of ourselves and were desperately unlucky to leave with nothing, but fair play to Wolves for finding a way, sign of a good team. We seem to be playing well but sorely lacking in quality up top, which is always going to be so if we keep playing someone sub 6ft up front on his own.

You had a stonewall penalty turned down too when Batth shoved Bradshaw in the back. You played well though, I underestimated your team but you more than matched our so called superstars who cost us a fortune.

I did ask once if I could arrive after half-time for half-price on the grounds I wouldn't miss any goals.

Very true. Second game in a row (arguably same against Millwall)?

We've definitely gone off the boil a little this month. We seem poor in front of goal ... compared to Blades, Leeds, Bristol City... and I'm less impressed with Miranda than I was before: I'd give Deslandes a start. Batth looked weak during the Southampton match, too.

Bit fearful for Weds night. I sense a 2-0 defeat. But I also wonder if Norris might replace Ruddy.

I think our league position will determine our spending pattern. If top 2 or 3 and a gap to the next clubs in January, then I reckon we might seem some huge spending again. Ironic that our FFP outcome might be affected by the strength of the pound against the euro.
If we are merely in the running, top 6 or so, then I think we will be shopping at Aldi (no harm in that....good quality-low price, but less inspirational).

It seems Neves has gone off the boil a bit too. Since most of our play comes through his creativity, it seems like the team only play well when he does. Barnsley crowded the midfield on Saturday and completely nullified Neves' presence. It meant that we couldn't really dominate with our new pass and move style. I feel we really need to get a plan B sorted because a lot of teams will come to Molineux this season and frustrate us in the same way.

I agree Miranda hasn't adapted yet to the physicality of the Championship. This was exposed massively to Cardiff, and his small mistakes are starting to look likely to be game changing. Is Deslandes the option though? I'm not convinced personally because of his inexperience but it could be worth a shot. Hause is another candidate but I feel Nuno doesn't like him. Alfred N'Diaye another who has played in defence at previous clubs.

Norris looks a very good goalkeeper. It's nice to have such good competition for Ruddy and it would be nice to see him given a chance in the league. With his form and Ikeme back in the future, I can't see much of a future for Burgoyne however.

Neves is going to get crowded out with our shape though, not advocating change but when I managed on Sat I'd occasionally get a well classy player from our first team and would always go 433 just to get him on the ball as much as possible in as much space as possible. Harder to do that when it's you and two wingbacks.
