An eleven of ex-youth products still currently playing but not at your club.

Which club has the most impressive? I reckon Leeds can make a good one but there might be a few surprises.

Think this will highlight how few players we produce but suppose we have a fair excuse with the amount of Category 1 academies on our doorstep.

Andy Lonergan (Boro)
Conor McLaughlin (Millwall) - Dan Devine (Dunfermline) - Bailey Wright (Bristol City) - Reece James (Sunderland)
Adam Barton (Dundee United)
Anthony Pilkington (Cardiff) - Josh Brownhill (Bristol City) - Danny Mayor (Bury)
Jamie Proctor (Rotherham) - Danny Rowe (AFC Fylde)

Subs - Chris Neal (Salford), Tyler Horby-Forbes (Newport), Nick Anderton (Accrington), Ryan Croasdale (AFC Fylde), Alan McCormack (Luton), Jamie Douglas (Portadown), Rhys Turner (Barrow)

Think that would give us a middling League One team, bench is pathetic.

A moment of silence please for poor Bainsey! A diamond within a sea of sh**te. Thirty goals all scored by him from set pieces might keep us in the National League.

Can we play?

No, fuck off.

Wasn't Paul Digby really highly rated at one point?

That said, Adam Barton was being linked to Liverpool for us and he's ended up as an SPL bum.

The odd decent midfielder but that's about it. There's a few known names playing out their careers for obscure teams, other than that we've got Huddlestone who has ended up back here anyway.

Stick Rhys Turner on the bench, was at Morecambe last season now at Barrow.

*on loan at this club.

Clutching at straws there with Kane and Maddox, I played against Maddox in a school game when I was 14 I think and we both played centre mid and he was fucking immense. Both Maddox and Kane were poached from a young age by Liverpool and Chelsea, the same was true for Rolando Aarons also but I think he was 17, not still at school.

As wank as that team is, our academy is really starting to produce now. Bryan and Reid have gone to the PL, Lloyd Kelly will without a doubt go to the PL and probably go onto play for England (he’s been training with the senior side during the international break) and O’Leary is in net for us Saturday, supposed to be a decent player as well. Got a few others out on loan in L1/L2 like McCoulsky, Semenyo etc. Tinnion is doing a great job.

That, and he isn't actually very good at playing football.

Can't attest to his performances elsewhere but he was very good at playing football when he was with us and we all expected him to follow in John Stones' footsteps to the very top. I was disappointed when we sold him to Ipswich and it's a real shame to see the nosedive his career has taken since then, no doubt compounded by aforementioned injuries, but he's still young and hopefully he can salvage a decent career even if it is in the lower leagues.

Lennon’s at Burnley. Can’t think of another striker you’ve had come through the ranks either really.... Beckford I thought initially but came through at Arsenal or Chelsea didn’t he?

I remember that Scunthorpe team with Sharp, Beckford and Hooper. Now that was a strikeforce!

I remember

Snodgrass Howson Johnson Gradel

Becchio Beckford

probably one if not the best league 1 attack so far

gradel scored something like 12 goals, Snodgrass scored about 8 and assisted 2 million

Beckford scored 31 and Becchio scored roughly around 16-18

how that team finished only 2nd i'll never know lol

I remember John Barnes arrived at Elland Road and lost 3-0 , any other day that game but for thie keeper and the woodwork 6 times would have been 9-0

John Barnes almost cried out of the stadium

Tough for us as we haven't really had an academy for a while.

Only one I can think of of any note is Alfie Mawson, but even then I think he came to us from Reading at the age of 16.

Being where we are, most of our "academy" players were actually players let go by other bigger clubs who we picked up around the age of 16 / 17.

Most of ours are probably stacking shelves in Tescos now, not been until the last 5 year's the academy has had a real improvement.

Fox is two levels too high.

Generous.

Easily one of the worst products I’ve ever seen from our academy. Terrible footballer.

Couldn’t believe it when you signed him for actual money.
