Got a point on Saturday despite playing far worse than in our previous two before that (both defeats), but could really do with a win and convincing performance in this one. As could HK. Can we avoid conceding more than 2 goals in a game (which is at least down from 3/4 earlier in the season)? Will Jon Stead be back which (and who thought we would be saying this in pre-season?) would be a big boost, or will it be 16-year-old Kion Etete or Kristian Dennis up front? And how many CBs will be on the bench?

I think this will be 2-1 either way - hopefully to the home side...

No idea why, but I'm really looking forward to it tomorrow. Not enjoying the results but against The Dongs and Swindon we played some nice stuff. If we play the same way and take our chances when on top we've every chance of a win. If we dont, and concede we're screwed as they aren't confident enough to hold a narrow lead.

This one has low scoring disappointment and more excuses or blame written all over it.

Hardy better get praying a little harder, clean Harry needs to get his team selection right, and the players need to buck their ideas up individually and collectively

Other than that, it’s all good. Not sure whether it’s more painful watching this season as a Notts fan or like me just reading and hearing about it.

Certainly need a win but when you are bottom 5 all season you always need a win. We have the potential to get the 3 points but more likely is a narrow defeat

We won’t win this. We’re in rank form and even when we play alright (did well for 70 mins at the weekend), we don’t have a clinical striker whilst Sturridge is out and our defence is weak as piss. 2-1 Notts.

From what I read this was spot on!

You dominated and should have scored a few but didn't...

Notts were a lot worse than I thought they’d be! One of the worst teams I’ve seen. We did alright but our inability to score a goal was criminal on Tuesday

We were worse than I'd thought we'd be and far worse than we should be.
You lot should have walloped us, good keeping, but terrible finishing were the reason, not particularly good defending.
Kewell is not a popular man and he's in real danger of running out of time, we're a graveyard for managers and he's shaping up to be the next as he was never much wanted in the first place and taking off our only striker, putting on a defender, time wasting from the hour and playing for a point isn't going to cut it.

Hi Darren I’m always more than happy to discuss home attendances :gr:

Long gone indeed we’ve not averaged 10,000+ since I believe the 91/92 season.

Fortunately I’m old enough to have witnessed those attendances and those games in England’s top tier . Many Notts fans sadly didn’t. Great times, great period

Bizarre game, almost total dominance from Oldham from 25 mins in and yet we had arguably the best chances and could have nicked it. In the end we were clinging on as though we were playing City or something. I think it’s a different game if Stead and Hemmings are fit though, Dennis just doesn’t suit a 4-2-3-1 and we missed Hemmings linking up the midfield and attack. Anyway, thank God it is pretty much a fast fading memory now.

Ps the Oldham fans were very good!

3rd bottom hardly inspire much faith now does it? Some fans have full faith in every manager the club appoints . Nodding Dogs. Other fans are cynical from the start due to past failings

We might be relatively small in number but we definitely try and get behind the team away from home. Don’t think it will last much longer if we keep slipping down the table.

Imagine how the fans would be if we ever had a half decent season?

I don’t have to imagine I’m old enough to remember as a youngster counting 40 coaches full of Oldham fans for an FA Cup 4th round tie in one of our glory periods.

Think the game ended 1-0 (maybe 2-0) , went on to beat a really good Man City side 1-0 , before losing in the QF to Gazza/Linekar led Spurs side. Great cup run, big crowds great days

Remember that game very well VM. Had a big rivalry with Oldham that season. They’d knocked us out of the League Cup and we were also battling away at the top of the table. We were great that day though, in front of over 14,000.

A far cry from the current shambles.

Yup, I remember listening to Radio Nottm when Notts were away on the plastic turf against a great Oldham team around that time. Seemed so intimidating and difficult.

Close games but we deserved to win that FA cup tie, very lucky against Citeh and unlucky against Spurs

2-0 iirc. 5 or 6k Oldham behind the goal. They went home disappointed, but were celebrating later in the season when they won the league thanks to our last day win at West Ham and their victory over Sheff Weds.
