Lloyd Kelly going to Bournemouth for 13m. I do like the way Bournemouth go about their transfers, certainly a team to try and follow.

They're buying promise Ken. He's gonna be some player, not there yet but he will get there.
Sad to see him go but good luck to the lad.

The 12m they paid for Brooks of us last season looks a masterstroke now.

Fine player is Brooks.
Kelly will end up at centre back where he plays for England U21s, not at left back. Not ready for the Prem yet but not too far away.
We can't stand in his way, the same as you couldn't with Brooks.
Good fee so we're happy but I expect to see DeSilva sign now.

Yep theres nothing you can do, it's just about getting the right fee, I think we did for Brooks and you have also.

Given the players they have probably more likely he lines up at left back short term, probably moves to CB when the eventually sell Ake.

Think we’ll see a lot of £10m+ transfers out of the Championship this year, wouldn’t surprise me if 2-3 of them came from us.

Superb business for us that. Funds Da Silva who’s a better left back, Kalas and then about 5m spare as well.

Do you think Watkins could be one of them? Seems like his form stalled a bit when Smith left?

I’m not sure. He started this season on fire and looked unplayable, but quickly fizzled out. Expectations are high for him so I think we’ll probably hold on in the hope he finds some form again and his value goes up.

In an ideal world we’d sign Watkins with the Kelly money and play him up front.

He’d probably cost the same if not more than Kelly, given we’ve turned down £12m in the past.

Hence why I said it.

O’Dowda will leave us next, do well to get more than 5m for him. Will cover the Kalas fee though.

Looking at an Irish U21, Neil Farrugia, seems were moving towards having an actual development team this season.

Limited rumours for us in the early going bar Willis, but Mick Harford back in his scouting role seems to be over in Spain/Portugal at the moment going to quite a few games. Ties up with Jones saying we will cast the net far and wide to bring in players this summer, so could see a few from the continent coming in. Bit risky perhaps as you never know how they will transition to English football, but guess we are looking for value purchases given we can’t compete with most of the figures going about so far.

Watkins was suffering from a toe injury last year which restricted him a little, think perhaps the club should have rested him more than they did. Perhaps a summers rest will see him back on top form, anyway fingers crossed.

Exactly what we and a couple of other teams have done to good effect. It can take a little time for players to adapt but after a slow start we’ve had loads of successes (Benrahma and Maupay the latest)

Have we ever signed a Spanish player? I know we have signed a Portuguese player (David Viana), but he was no Ronaldo.

We’re being linked with a move for Blackburn’s David Raya. We need a new keeper so could be true but I’d imagine we would be looking abroad, Raya would cost a fair amount unless they want Bentley in exchange.

What's happened to Dan Bentley then? Always thought he was decent.

Szmodics from Colchester reportedly signed.

A CB from Bath, a midfielder from Colchester and potentially a midfielder from Forest Green whilst selling a future England CB. Cracking start to the summer...

15 goals 9 assists in 43 games for a few hundred grand. Sort of signing you or Brentford usually make and do well, he'll come here and probably play about 4 times all season though like Eisa, Adelukan, Engvall etc...

Powell’s turned down our final contract offer, so he’s off. Expecting it to be Sheff Wed or Stoke. He’s earnt his last big payday and we’ve got as much as possible out of him considering his injuries so I wish him the best.

So far we’ve only been linked with two players, local Newcastle rag say we want Barlaser on loan and the Portuguese press still say we’re after Alex Pinto.

We've watched that Barlaser at Accrington a few times too.

Definitely take him on a free and Bruce is a fan, expect Stoke can pay more than us though.

He was great pretty much up to this last season, but since then just kept making horrific errors. Could count 10 goals at least that were mainly his fault through errors (his handling has really gone downhill).

He’s clearly got the talent but his confidence is shot. Hope he does well and some new surroundings help out.

I’ve got a good feeling about Adelukan next season. Think he will prove his worth and eventually be a first team regular.

This Szmodics fella also looks talented and his record is impressive. I’m quite happy for LJ to take a chance on these type of players, aslong as he backs it up with proven quality.

If O’Dowda goes for a reported £6m, that’ll equal to around £40m in our bank over two seasons. I’d like to see us push the boat out a bit this summer and really challenge for a top 6 finish next year.
