Aside from a new CB, I honestly don't think we need anyone, provided we keep most of our squad which I think we will. Remember the loan window is open all season down here.

The most important person to retain is Allen, or failing that someone with a strong reputation in recent years, not someone who was relevant 5-10 years ago (or 15 in McGhee's case).

Need a better keeper than Ross, and I can't have any faith in Stephens playing more than 10 games a season, plus two more proper centre backs. I'm prepared to give Sule a chance to fill the ball winning role in midfield, but if he isn't able for one reason or another, that's another hole that needs to be filled.

Largely agree with your retained list, though I'd add Fonguck, Payne and HT to it, MA will probably keep Weston and we're stuck with Nicholson although he may be sold to Brackley or a similar club.

Ross will be okay provided the defence are competent. That leaves us needing a new CB, probably fine for CMs, and any gaps that develop can be plugged with loans.

If Tarpey starts firing, then we can probably sell one of Akinde/Shaq to raise funds if need be.

Interestingly Martin Allen has come out of nowhere and is now 3rd favourite to take over at Chesterfield, with Sky Bet offering 8/1 !!

I must admit, he would be my preferred choice out of the 3 favourites (Sheridan and Davies being the other two) as he's the type of character needed to steady the sinking ship, along with having invaluable experience of being successful in the non league. I also heard somewhere that he applied for the job after Caldwell was sacked but never heard anything back from our board, so hopefully that hasn't put him off.

Tbh whoever comes in has got a MASSIVE task on their hands due to us having a grand total of 19 utter shite players still contracted up until 2019 that I can see being very difficult to move on! What a great time to be a spireite :lac::lac:

I know I'm in a very, very small minority of Barnet fans, but that wouldn't disappoint me. Better to get it all out of the way right now, rather than have it hanging over us all next season.

Update: Martin Allen is now favourite for the spireites job, with sky bet offering odds of 5/4....

Personally think the 3 candidates that it's going to come down to will be either him, Nicky Law or Ronnie Moore as I can't see John Sheridan wanting to drop down to this level

Shambles after shambles. New seasons kit being against the league rules sums us up. Nobody had a clue until the fans flagged it, they don’t care. Any chance to cut a corner, embarrassing AGAIN

I'll be gutted if we don't get to wear that away kit as I think it's the best we've produced since our last black away kit in 2013/14!

I do apologise guys you do have the best ground in the league.
We did anyway. Congrats on the promotion. Probably in the top 5 grounds in League 2 you have.

I was half looking forward to visiting Chesterfield, as I spent a good 5 years just over the border in South Yorkshire and enjoyed my visits. Didn't expect them to become the next basket case. Haven't been to the new ground, but hopefully we'll get the opportunity to play again soon in the league.
