That's a dramatic turn around, he didn't give a toss about that at first.

The M&S Xmas ad. At the end the burglar hugs Paddington Bear and I’m convinced he says ‘Fuck you, little bear’.

I just checked and that doesn't work anymore - Google has their priorities sorted.
Hehe yeah fair enough, but just alerting you to that story in case you weren't aware before, for balance you know ;)

These modern miracle cars that start first time on a damp December morning after a month on the drive.

When I remember the tricks we got up to just to make sure it started after a cold damp night.......

Of course, the second car I bought did did have a hand crank starter handle that got a bit of use - The first did as well but it rarely worked and I always had the jump lead ready for action.

My crappy 16 year old Ford Focus Estate diesel passing its MOT without a single advisory. You can't beat a mk1 Focus for reliability.

After seeing Pagnell's post about his trusty Ford Focus I thought I'd show a photo (taken this morning) of my 30 year old Toyota Camry which I bought new in July, 1988, it's got a couple of small scratches but has never failed the 6 monthly ( old cars pre 2000 are tested twice a year) MOT, I take it in for a full dealer service every year.

That’s a credit to you, mate. Never knew that about pre 2000 cars either.

I’ve owned some terrible cars in the past. Alfa Romeo when they turned to rust within a couple of years, a Ford Mexico whose gearstick came off in my hand while driving and a Mini that took on water when the sills rusted away.

I did enjoy my old Triumph Herald, though.

Finding out that, when you get banned and retake your test to get your licence back (after 12 years), your new licence is effectively a reissue of your original one rather than a new license from the second test date.

Annoyingly, for the last 18 months I've been paying insurance as someone who has been driving for less than two years only to find out today that I could have told the insurance company I've had a full licence for nearly 30 years. A phone call later and my premium has reduced by over £50 a month and I have hundreds in back payments coming my way.
