I actually liked the bit where Ruvik kept popping up in the mansion. It made that area very tense.

The weakest part of the game was when you're on the bus and wading through the streets, oh and the final chapter was poor. Basically a rehash of every enemy in the game as so many games try to do.

Definite 8/8.5 out of 10 though. Hoping number 2 builds off it.

Oh aye, wasn't that much keen on the whole bus thing either, Lee. It was actually my favourite game of 2014. Would have given it a 9.

Link Between Worlds
Giving the Zelda games another shot. I really like this entry, probably to the point where it might actually be my favourite...maybe. Just cleared the thieves hideout so I'm not that far into it.

Uncharted The Lost Legacy

I'm a bit of an Uncharted fan, but I'll admit that I got distracted and a little bored by the fourth entry. I wasn't expecting much from this game, no hype or anything like that. However, I'm having lots of fun with it so far. I don't think anyone will agree with me when I say that I think Chloe and Nadine make for a far more interesting duo than Nate and Victory.

I don't know how many people are familiar with Monkey Island, but the creator has recently released a new game: Thimbleweed Park. It's great. If you liked Monkey Island and Guybrush Threepwood or any other old school point-and-click adventure games, I would suggest you buy and play this.

I actually bought the new Uncharted at the same time, but it's remained in its plastic while I played through this.

Bought Sleeping Dogs for about £9 on the Playstation Store. Love it so far. The setting is really refreshing with interesting characters and fun gameplay. Although it's 5 years old now, it holds up very well.

Waiting on it because my backlog is already ridiculous :(

Excited to give it a go though as I loved monkey island.

Just got the ice beam. This is the first Metroid I've played and I'm really enjoying. The controls make my hands crampy though.

I got Titanfall 2 way back at Xmas last year and FINALLY played it over last weekend. Only done the story mode and it's really good... the sort of good that makes you wonder why the hell they didn't bother with a story mode last time around. I'll probably check out the online at some point soon as well.

As for Persona 5, I've officially decided that I can't be assed. Great characters/story etc, but the combat is so fucking dull and I find myself just not touching the game because I can't be arsed to go through the dungeons and stuff. I feel like as a flat out story game, it absolutely excels, but as an RPG, it's probably a bit rubbish. It's what a call "Dragon Age Inquisitor" syndrome.

Rocket League and FFVII.

I only play casual in rocket league nowadays but I'm happy to teach people anything from wave dashing, quick launch high aerials (touch the ceiling with less than 30 boost!), half flips and I've also got a scary accurate powershot on me if you want to practice defensive stuff. Just hit me up! :)

So am I the only one on Destiny 2 right now?! Surely not!

I originally told myself I wasn't going to get it... lots of other games coming out, plus it came out the day before I went on holiday, so I knew I'd be coming back and everybody else would have had a good week and a half or so head start on me so I'd have nobody to play it with...

But then I saw it for £31.99 at simplygames.com and couldn't say no to that... and I'm so fucking glad I made that decision. Within minutes I felt like an idiot for forgetting that Bungie are fucking incredible and make incredible shooters time after time. I really liked the original one, even if I never got truly absorbed in it like others did, but this one feels like a massive improvement in most respects. I love it, and I've actually only really done the story (which, fuck me, is good... I don't even remember what happened in the first game) and played it on my own... can't wait to level up and catch up to other people I know so I can actually start doing some coop!

I wasn't sure whether it was good to admit I was playing it...

Although I never had much of a problem with the original. My biggest issue was that the grind took so long to reach the top levels, where'd you play hours for minimal gains. Seems to be far easier this game to level.

Judging by the last two DLCs of the original, I am hopeful that the game will only improve from here. Bungie do know what they are doing.

Still think the best time to buy this game is when they will sell the base game + first two smaller DLCs in about 9 months time for under £40. And I do think it is very much a love/hate game. Even though I feel it is a great game, others will hate it. Just the type of game it is.

Will be interesting to see how the PC launch goes.

I kind of had intended on doing just that, waiting until some kind of Game plus DLC edition came out... but I just couldn't resist at 32 quid! I haven't got the power to resist these sorts of things... Glad I did buy it though.

Got talked into going through FFVI again, I'm on the WoR.

What a game, last time I played this I was six and didn't finish it because six. This time, holy fucking wow.

Amazingly, nobody spoiled the story for me.

I finally got around to buying that hideously named Kingdom Hearts collection recently and have been blasting through KH1 for the last week... just finished it.

I must have last played it about 13 years ago, and back then I got up to the 2nd fight against Riku and could never beat the fucker so gave up. It wasn't so much that it was too difficult as much as the fact that you couldn't skip the fucking great cut scene before it... and in the end, I think that the fear of not wanting to see that cut scene AGAIN put too much pressure on me and kept making me choke, so I quit the game in a rage.

So I was DELIGHTED to see that they'd added a "skip cutscene" option this time around. Though of course, this time, I only go and beat him on the 2nd attempt and to be honest he was fucking easy. 15/16 year old me SUCKS.

Anyway, decent enough game all in all, but it's showing its age now a bit ain't it? Basic as fuck combat that's only a step or two up from Dynasty Warriors, and for the most part most of the levels are simply a case of running around from place to place waiting to trigger a cut scene. I actually used a guide for most of the game, not because it was tricky, but because I simply couldn't be assed with walking around hoping to trigger the next advancement of the game, I just wanted to get straight to where I had to go.

Oh well. Good shit still, all in all. Will probably give it a rest a bit before I get on with the next one.

Playing The Last of Us for the millionth time. Nothing comes close in terms of story telling. Amazing.

Started Metal Gear 5 too, it was free on the PSN store.

Actually I am playing it, too. Still in the first missions in Afghanistan because I have to get accustomed to the stealth tactics. I am more the "go in and kill'em all" guy :D

And I am playing Black Flag again after the stand alone DLC was free on PS Plus a few weeks ago. Still great to ship the Carribbean and sing the shanties with my pirates ...."that's a lie, that's a lie, that's a lie, lie, lie...." :D

Until Dawn - reaching a climax in this game now, or at least thats how it feels. accidentally killed Matt after not realising i could have left the deer alone instead of twatting it with a shovel :2thumb:

the stranger has also been killed by the Wendigo, scary shit but managing to keep most people alive at the moment! only other person to have died is Jessica, who fell down a lift shaft because i wasnt fast enough

Finished South Park: Fractured But Whole

Played it on the highest difficulty for the gold trophy (wasn't much of a challenge so lord knows how easy it is on less than that). Don't think the story was as good as the first (it was certainly a lot more restrained and less crass) but the gameplay was much improved - the grid system was good, as was the way you could chop and change your team around (although half of them I barely used like Fastpass, Tweak, Token, Human Kite and for the last third of the game settled on Captain Diabetes, Call Girl and Mysterion, with my dude as an assassin/plantmancer mix)

Just installing Assassins Creed Origins of which I go into with low expectations. On the surface it seems to be a less polished Ubisoft version of Horizon.

Oh scratch that, it's the best AC game so far in my opinion. Visually it's a complete masterpiece, it's mindblowing how rich and detailed the locations are. The quest and loot systems are complete rip-offs of other games but other good games so the end result is also good.

Bayek is up there with Ezio as far as protagonists go and although the story starts off a bit muddled, a couple of hours in it really gets going. Especially if you're an AC fan, there are lots of little 'oh so that's why....' moments.

Chapter 13 of Evil Within 2.

I really like it. It’s not as tense as the first but the fact it’s more open to explore really adds to the game. Storyline is much improved in this one as well.

I am a fan of the AC Series, my favourite parts were ACII and ACIV-Black Flag. (Although I am still angry about ACII because it denied me the Platinum trophy in 2010 although I had all the required 20 Glyph riddles but the trophy didn't pop up and so the platinum neither. I am stuck at 98% there and couldn't get the last trophy although I made all the 20 glyph riddles again but ...nada. Anyway, the story was very cool although the fighting in AC is way too easy.
I heard they developed AC Origins more into a RPG and with better fighting (Demon's Souls and Dark Souls orientated). I can't confirm it yet because I won't play AC Origins on my PS4 before 11th December. I am pretty sure I'll get it then as a gift (made some hints here and there ;) )

apropos Demon's Souls:
Actually I am playing it again on my old PS3. The game is from 2009 and the predecessor of the Dark Souls Series. Never played a more frustating but on the other side more motivating game. Didn't reach the platinum back then but I want to do it now. Until then I am dying endless times again. But this time I won't play a Knight with heavy armour who can't move quick enough but a Royal with light armour and quick movement.
This game will be the ultimate measure for me that my heart is good again :D Wish me luck in my quest in the kingdom of Boletaria.

btw: I know it's old but here's the intro of Demon's Souls. Epic!

edit: I still love the ancient english of the Maiden in Black. thee, thou.....beautiful voice. Can't identify the accent of the female voice actor....Russian? Baltic?
