I don't advocate sacking managers but my god he was awful. Someone in please who has been in the game long enough yet hasn't been sacked. I'm sure there is loads. We've also got loadsamoney to tempt people in.

Thank you Beijing, Edinburgh no longer associated with Northampton!

He was a disaster, won 2 games for us I think, hadnt won in 14! No idea who we will go for now but the good news is as our game at the weekend has been postponed so that gives us time to get our man.

Looks like Edinburgh may have run his course as a manager at League 1/2 level. Seems to be leaving a trail of destruction behind him.

JED tried to carry on with a formation that clearly wasn't working and paid the price. After we were twatted at Charlton he came out and said he was willing to change formations, which placated a lot of the supporters who were then seemingly happy to give him more time. Until 2pm last weekend, when it became clear he'd kept the same setup which had lost us 4/4 for the visit of rivals Peterborough. We were promptly thumped in the derby and the tide turned to the vast vast majority wanting him out. I was told on Tuesday afternoon he was going to be sacked after the checkatrade trophy game with Cambridge (which our first eleven valiantly drew against a much changed Cambridge side) and he never left the dugout for 90 minutes.

Such a shame because on paper we've made some great signings but he's trying to fit them into a system which doesn't work. So I'm glad he's gone.

JED was somehow worse than Page. He's too one dimensional to succeed in L1, needs to go back down to the conference again for his next job I reckon. Dunno who we'll go for next, hopefully somebody on the way up rather than someone who has already failed at this level. The favourite seems to be Hasselbaink at the moment.

I doubt his name will be in the hat for us but I'd love to see Graham Potter get a managerial job in England, he's done an incredible job with Östersunds over here. Taken them from the fourth tier to the top division, won the Swedish cup and gotten to the Europa League group stages this year. It's like watching someone go on an incredible FM run in real life. (also he played for us on loan in the 90s, so there's a connection).

Did he sign Ryan Gilligan? If so, I think you know my answer...

Fair point. He signed Alex Dyer as well :bg: In fairness Dyer has turned into a decent player. on the other hand Gilligan got himself sacked for "dressing room issues" and basically became a journeyman in the lower leagues of Sweden and Finland.

I really think he was after a pay off, he was never going to get another job at this level so he went for the pay off. Why else would he carry on with tactics and formations that everyone, including him, knew wouldn't work. He will get another job in football, they always do, coaching Spurs U16's or something, but the chance of a BIG pay off proved too much.
Or was he just f*cking useless?

He genuinely is just fucking useless, and arrogant too. He's taking us to an employment tribunal about his sacking, even though he was only out of work for a week or two.

And he played the same stupid formation with us too.

Nowhere near an expert in this but is there an opposite to 'constructive dismissal' when the employee creates an environment by performing badly intentionally or where his/her actions/inaction cause their dismissal for financial gain from that immediate sacking?
In the normal world a sacking is preceded by the 'progressive steps' warnings process that could take weeks/months/years however...if it could be proved in a tribunal, especially if this is similar to his sacking at Gillingham, it might save us both some money?
