This forum would be rubbish without somewhere for me to dump new tunes that I like. :)

Hopefully if I post some hardcore it will attract back some of the old members. ;)

All dance music styles welcome not just heavy stuff.

Haha, I swear you've posted that in about five different places on the internet now?! I'll get round to listening to it, especially as on Facebook you said "think you hate psytrance?", or something similar.

This thread is kind of good though, as I don't have to worry about if I've posted something in here before. Did Timmy make it over here?

Loving that hardcore opener too. Will give that a full listen in a bit.

Listening to Gatecrasher Red again, as I clean my apartment right now.

Yeah I was quite drunk when posting that one so got a bit carried away with it. I doubt it will change anyone's opinion on Psy trance but I do love Mechanimal. .

Actually it's annoying that we lost the old thread. I had this idea a while back to go through the whole thread and pick out a wide range of the songs we'd all posted then putting them in a mash up/mix.

I wanted it to encompass all of the genres we posted so it would probably have been a bit all over the place but good fun.

We had about four years of music posted in that thread and when it started I was a flat out trance head.

I don't know any good forums for Techno. The ones that I use from time to time and are active:

Subsekt
DnBforum.com
Trancefix.nl

Quite like the last two. That Caribou song is alright and I'm not always a fan of them.

That would have been class. I'll try and find a cached version of it, but I don't know if Youtube clips will show up in it.

Usually smash out Gatecrasher Red Disc 2 when I put it on, but I've opted for Disc 1 today and it's got a few absolute classics on it.

If you can find the thread then I can give it a go. :)

Love all three of those track, the Humate track is a beauty. I need to pick up this gatecrasher CD as I often see you talking about it. I'm liking looking back so I'll start with a trance one and then some more obvious ones:

Bit more of a acid sound to this one.

And also a classic from Derek May:

And then a more recent Roman Poncet one:

Going to see Poncet at Jaded in March which I am looking forward too. It's frustrating at the moment as Nicola works alternative weekend and every one when she's on there seems to be decent/different nights on but on our weekend off it's the same names at the same places. I am sure things will warm up soon though.

Saying that Planet Shroom next week for some Psy trance. :) I am a bit jaded of psy trance at the moment but this will be the last one until the summer where I think we're going to go to another Psy festival.

I don't think Timmy or the Northampton fan made it over by the way, both were good for the odd post in this thread. I'll always remember NTFC as the guy who introduced me to Dub Phizix - Marka.

Loving that I can post more than two videos but if it slows down the forum then let me know.

Ah that's shit about Timmy and NTFC_Army, if true. Might be worth checking the League Two forum for the latter. Not even sure who Timmy supports though, I wanna say Oldham? Or Everton? Satch isn't joining the forum either, unfortunately.

Some good news, though. Cardsfan showed me how to find cached threads and it looks like a lot of the content from the old thread is retrievable. So big ups to Cardsfan!

What we need to do is Google the page you want, followed by "site:thefootballforum.net". However, it wouldn't find the thread in its entirety, so you have to search by page. So, for the old content Google "I'm Raving I'm Raving page 1 site:thefootballforum.net". Under the main link to the thread, there's some green writing. At the end of the green writing there's a small arrow. Hit the arrow and then hit the "Cached" box that pops up.

Here's page 1 of the old thread...

To celebrate, let's keep things trancey with a bit of Japanese trance. Absolutely loving the chipbitty tune that comes in around the 6:30 mark.

Liking all the those tunes too, mate. Especially, the Phynn one. Pretty straight up trance by numbers, but that's the way I like it.

I feel like I'm invading somewhat but meh.

I'm a huge fan of The Algorithm, but a complete n00b and ignorant when it comes to this kind of music. I'd like to know what genre he mainly falls in on the electronic side, and if possible, any similar sounding projects/artists?

That just sounds like an electronic interpretation of metal to me. The only thing I can think of that is similar is this...

..but it's not exactly what you're looking for I don't think. It doesn't have the more chilled out sections.

First things first. The guy who invented the laser has died, so let's take a moment to commemorate Charles Townes.
http://news.sky.com/story/1417242/laser-inventor-charles-townes-dies-aged-99

Not gonna quote everyone's posts here as that'll be video overload.

Carel, that Burial tune is awesome. Definitely the best Burial tune I've ever heard and probably the first time that I didn't think he was overrated.

Jarvis, the electronic parts in that Algorithm tune are definitely very similar to chip bit/chiptune in places. However, I've never really heard any chip bit that has heavy guitars accompanying it. I'm by no means an expert, though. If it's something you never heard of before then it's definitely worth a bit of a look into/read up on. There is a band called Colonopenbracket (or the actually a colon : followed by an open bracket (, but if I write that here it gives me an emoji) that do chiptune and guitars but they're really emo and not as heavy as the one you posted.

Actually, come to think of it. Isn't Nintendocore a metal thing? That's not a million miles away from what you posted is it?

Stevencc, YES. I love Drumcorps. It's Aaron Spectre, isn't it? Totally ridiculous, but utterly enjoyable.

Benito, you just opened the box.

Not to sure but what about infected mushroom?

Love the opening track on that mini mix you posted SoC. Do you have a ID? I know a guy on another site who posts loads of stuff from Japanese Producers.

Benito that NRG tune is a real classic, love that track so much. Can just imagine it being played at sunrise on some beach somewhere. Perfect.

Not a fan of the drumcorps stuff but didn't know it was Aaron Inspector, maybe this tune is obvious but I love it:

I'll also keep the trance theme going, I am seeing Simon Patterson in April along with a load of others, not so keen on his newer stuff but this track is a special one from around 2008. Can't help but smile whenever I hear this tune.

A house track I posted this the other week before all the posts got deleted.

I got paid today so time to start digging into my Juno wishlist.

In that J-trance mix, Natch? Yep the tracks are all on the video when he starts mixing them in, but it's probably a little bit small if you're watching/listening in the thread. Tracklist also in the details box if you click onto Youtube.

1) Void - Ordeal [Mournfinale]
2) Hiroyuki Oda - Luminescence [Otographic Music]
3) DJ名無し - Lonely Light [U.T.Y.]
4) Tomohiko Togashi - Mindcapture [Right Stuff]
5) Adam Szabo - Falcon [Fraction Records]
6) kors k - Feelin' Me (Spiritual Dub) [Konami]

I think with the Drumcorps stuff you probably need to listen to hardcore (as in the shouty guitar driven kind). I definitely get a kick out of the fact that he samples quite a lot from bands that I listen to or have listened to at some point in my life. That Simon Patterson tune is nice, too.

Cheers for the responses guys. I'd never registered how loud the metal bits were in the mix actually, I guess as I listen to it all the time normally I hear that as a normal kind of sound and just focus on the electronic bits. He has made his name through the metal scene and is on a metal label, so I guess it makes sense. Algorithm's most recent album, Octopus4 definitely leans more towards electronic, with a lot of chip-tune stuff in there.

Loving Drumcorps, that's my kind of crazy. Also loving Infected Mushroom, that's the sound I like (well, the Army of Mushrooms album I listened to is anyway). Not struck on that emo chip-tune thing, though, haha. The vocals put me off.

I used to love Infected Mushroom. They've moved more towards metal now I think but their psy/rock cross over is really cool.

Vicious Delicious was a good album too.

Shroom was pretty good last night. A bit jaded of psy trance at the moment though so I'm looking forward to some Techno soon.

Mechanimal was alright but not as good as the last time he played. Personally thought a guy called lurk who closed was better.

As always a great crowd and the venue was a old church so very cool. The energy was great at times, I did wish there were other rooms like Tribe. It's nice to have different options and it would have been good to have heard some Dark and Twisted psy trance.

Little video here someone took that it won't let me add for some reason.

Welcome back! :) I always thought you were a Wednesday fan for some reason and I have no idea why I thought that. :fish: (That was just meant to be the laughing face but I couldn't find it for some reason.

The forum was due to close in March, but Tom got annoyed and pulled the plug 24 hours after it was announced. Pretty rubbish but he'd had enough long before then.

Nice tune by the way. :)

Ha Nah I'm a toffee. I take it most of the techno contributors have made their way over here now then?
