Think Chesterfield bought around 3500 that day. That would have been the full Quarry Lane and Bishop St which is about 2500 seats and then I imagine 1000 in the North Stand. I was about 8 then so can't remember it very well. Even in 2007/08 Haslam gave them more tickets than what the away end held and 200 or so of them had to stand on some old unsafe concrete steps at the side of Bishop Street which was falling down then.

Sickens me he was allowed to separate the club from its own ground and still receives a yearly instalment for it, Up until 2019. That day will be a good day, Only bettered by the day he finally snuffs it.

Aye, ended up on the Bishop St that day too. Got into the ground at 2.50 and wondered what they hell was going on. Was clear that day there was 2/300 odd in that end too many. Could have potentially ended much worse.

This hasn't really just come out of the woodwork tho , has it? We knew about this ages ago it just seems that the EFL and FA have been slow to do anything about it. Either way tho it's a shambles. Bunch of wank stains who run our club. I'm glad someone official is involved tho , something might actually be done about those running/ruining our club , they've took the piss for far too long.

Can't remember the exact figure, but the small (now unsafe completely) stand on the opposite side to the two tier stand, was only half-open at the time if I remember rightly. When I first started going to Field Mill that tiny stand was the Family Stand. The front of it was more of a concrete sturdier structure, the back half if it was old fashioned and mostly wooden. The back half of it was deemed unsafe after it was packed to the rafters for a Coca-Cola Cup tie in 94/95 against Leeds, again, that's only from memory, but I'm sure the older part of it was deemed unsafe as people reported movement in it.
So for as long as pretty much most Stags fans can remember now, even when it's been used it has always been boarded up seperating the back from the front. Chesterfield only had the front part of it, but with how it was partitioned, even some areas came with restricted views which meant those seats were useless and therefore not sold as genuine tickets.

I think that little stand originally held 990 ish, so I bet Chesterfield had about 400-500 in there, but not really sure. The two stands behind the goals are usually reduced in capacity by Police to around 1500 each, but apparently they can hold 1900 each, even though I don't believe they do, I think it was a Haslam lie.

Haslam once tried to burn the little derelict stand down by the way and claim on the insurance....but was caught out....probably because he'd tried to falsely claim on his car insurance before by getting someone to "steal" it for him.
I think the bit of fire damage that he managed to cause was what rendered it fully unsafe. Again, not 100% sure on that, because he was a pure bullshitter that bloke.

I'm pretty sure we've one more payment on the ground and then JR will own it. He has then mentioned that he would then transfer the ground over to the fans trust - obviously we will see what happens there, but there is little to suggest he wouldn't do so.

We take everything on the ground regarding anything sold - they've really done a good job doing up the west stand. As mentioned further up - as the ground was done on the cheap it does have limitations. Off the field revenue has soared in the last few seasons which is very promising.

The BS held about 400 or so. I remember Carlisle kicking off when they used it in 2002 as we had the west stand and both stands behind the goals for home supporers, Northampton also had it when the attendance was about 9,300 in the playoff semi 3 seasons later on.

I recall my mates and I being herded up by Notts police and taken to the Village nightclub (presumably long gone) where we were effectively locked in and plied with booze while Chesterfield friendly songs were played by a DJ.

We missed kick off as it wasn't till five minutes before the start we were marched to the ground through a park and then directly past a pub full of angry locals.

Dodged a couple of half bricks walking up by the station after the game too.

Funnily enough my long summation of perfectly valid reasons as to why I wouldn't want any of the Spireites' players anymore, seems to be more validated by the comments on there.

I honestly think that you're desperately short of quality midfielders, and the fact Caldwell has signed the personnel to only play in a 3-5-2 is already coming to bite him on the backside.

Apparently she claims it was tongue in cheek, and it's a copy of some JFK campaign video from 1960 something, because she studied his popularity campaign when she did Politics at Durham University.
