I also read there was something at Chesterfield for a young 12 year old fab who passed away recently. And that you had a minutes applause on 12 minutes?

Would be nice if Chesterfield asked us to do something similar for her? Whereas both clubs and fans want to beat each other, it's clearly irrelevant in comparison

It's a shame that Chesterfield couldn't sell out for 1650 for their main derby, but many Mansfield folk secretly thought they wouldn't after the laughable 1300 that went to county.

Maybe a chairman stuffing the club over (something were well aware of) has finally taken its toll.

The messages on bobs board on how they'd need 509 or so in our ends due to lack of tickets in our "pathetic away end" are someone embarrassing now.

You don't think we will sell out?

Apparently you've sent us 50 back, and then after opening your ticket office for longer .

It'd be a shame for your club to lose further money on the massive losses it's already sustaining for something so daft

A ridiculous post.

Your point there being to highlight our piss poor financial performance, rather than failing to sell 50 tickets for an away match, which has virtually no relevance to that whatsoever.

There's only one reason for their failure to sell out - lack of belief. I cannot understand why the majority think they have no chance on Saturday, especially with their upturn in form. Perhaps it is an indication of their number of 'fair weather' supporters.

It’s poor.

Lack or belief or not they should have the mindset that they want to turn up and support.

We're talking 50 tickets.

With the best will in the world, it's not a nice town and not a nice place to go. The ground is in an awful place and difficult to get away from. Early kick off means drinking is difficult, it's 3 weeks away from Christmas. You know I 1600 is a fair number, especially considering we sold out our initial allocation and the godawful way we marketed them. Silly rules about who was allowed to buy a ticket, I think a lot of people didn't bother because they thought they wouldn't get one.
For a bunch of supporters who often talk about how attendances are irrelevant, it's a strange argument to take up that's for sure.

Those excuses are beyond pathetic.

‘It’s not a nice town’ ‘The ground is in a awful place’ we are respectively each other’s biggest rival and it’s 10 miles down the road, stop making silly excuses for taking so long to sell 1600 tickets.

I don’t understand why you can’t just admit it’s a disappointing effort. If we struggled to do that I’d be very critical.

That's pretty much it.

The only reason I mention this is that on Bobs board, they mocked our away capacity at length and how we were tinpot, how it changes each time we play each other, how we've only 3 sides - then all laugh between themselves.

Then they don't sell it out

It's disappointing but we will sell out. The excuses are daft, I didn't even think it would make general sale with 3500 ST holders to only sell 1200 tickets was a suprise.

There's 18 tickets left so someone has been trotting allsorts of rubbish to little Adam. I rang up this morning and bought one for a mate who is no longer working. Asked what was left and she said about 15 unsold and they'd had a couple of returns. Happy days.

So Mansfield IS nice? The ground IS lovely situated with ample parking and easy exits, it's NOT 3 weeks away from Christmas and it's NOT an early kick off? Good to know.

Look all I'm trying to illustrate is that it's rich for a club with lower attendances than us, who always cry about crowd figures are irrelevant when we will probably end up selling out anyway. It's hard to imagine the gall

As said above, Bobs board was full of issues ranging from how folk with away stubs would have priority over home fans, and how it's pathetic our away end only holds so small, how tinpot we are, how Chesterfield fans would have to "endure" sitting with the "7 fingered" home fans etc etc etc.

Then you can't sell out. Fair dues, I'm sure not all Chesterfield fans posted on there, maybe not all thought that, maybe you don't and have never mentioned anything along those lines - but it's just shoddy that after all that stick Mansfield and Field Mill got is that it couldn't sell out.

Not really bothered about the actual number that goes, just it's egg on face time for those who did post on Bobs board, presumably not the first time this season, either

If you're expecting sensible discussion on Bob's, you're at the wrong place. Same can be said about Stagsnet as well im sure.

It is true that the club handled the tickets was awful tho. Guys who went to the Sheff Utd away game last season had first dibs (why?), then season ticket holders who dress to the left, then guys who went to 6 away games last year but only if they have a Samsung TV, then those who who think Brexit is a good idea, then those who have their Christmas decs up before December the 1st each year... Then we might put them on general sale if there's some left. It was all just bonkers

Chesterfield is not a very nice town either, that has fuck all to do with this.

It’s easy to get to the ground and Mansfield is literally filled with Car Parks, it’s the only bloody thing the council has manage to attract to the area for the past two decades so your chatting absolute rubbish.

I never mentioned the early kick off or the fact it’s three weeks away from Christmas, but yeah they are shit excuses.

Attendances are not everything, but anyway you try and shape this it’s a poor effort by Chesterfields fan base.

Just admit it ya weirdo.

You're the one cock waving, not me. I await Mansfield away tickets selling out faster than the new Peter Kay tour in back end of the season. Honestly, complaining about how fast we sell out when we get more than you anyway is just bizarre. I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve.

Especially considering they couldn’t give their home tickets away for at least our last 3 visits there.

That's fair enough buddy. It was those on there really that I thought would look daft.

I much prefer the games against Notts County and Lincoln TBH as there is the rivalry (not the same) but you can have fun and enjoy the day, when we play each other the days a bit crap for the away fans.

I'm in the Railway on Saturday, and if chesterfield fans come in, don't bother with shirt colours (who does these days?) and don't act a cock (i'm sure 99% are fine) then there's no bother and everyone has a pint and a good time before the match

Now ya making stuff up.

Considering your home attendances and amount of season ticket holders makes it even more surprising how long it’s taking to sell out.

I thought we'd sell out before general. I have 4 tickets in the West Upper I no longer will use that I got thinking we'd sell out to ST holders. The excuses trotted out by some of our fans are rubbish, it's a local derby, we've taken 3x this before so it's not like we never sell out, we always do. This is the first league game I have been to where getting a ticket has been easy.

BUT, all said and done, Mansfield fans are in no position to mock attendances. Other than the time we had 3 sides of the ground the place has been half empty on the last 3 or 4 visits i've made.

Sure it will be a belting game, and sure we will have sold out which hopefully will be spoken about just as much as it has the fact we've got about 9 returned tickets left back on sale. woopie doo

I forgot about the 1000 odd Chesterfield fans in the home end, no wonder it’s taken so long to sell the allocation In the away end.

But we don't crow about our attendances, we're slowly rebuilding - we're going in the right direction but slowly. We've came on leaps and bounds as a football club, the chairman is a dream, games are enjoyable again - for some that's enough after what happened - not that its big or clever, you're getting a little taste of what we had for about 18 years. As league positions state, attendances etc mean very little

I'm stating that there are many on Chesterfield who love to mock our attendances then go quiet when they can't sell out at their nearest rival. Like with spireite_uk i'm not stating it's you or you believe that, but it's why we get defensive.
