And it's your thread on Bob's Board that basically backs every long statement that I made about your recruitment and lack of a plan B seem right....it's actually an amusing thread to read through
I'm particularly enjoying reading their 'Grimsby' thread on there, don't know whether they think they are playing Grimsby opening game of the season or fucking Millwall some of the comments on there, Jesus wept some of them need to get a reality check ffs.

Which further emphasises the point I made much earlier in this thread about Caldwell having no plan B. There's only Mitchell isn't there who is a natural out and out winger? So it doesn't give him much scope to change to even a basic 4-4-2 for example without having to put square pegs in round holes?
I fully agree, not a Caldwell fan at all despite only actually going to one game whilst he has been in charge. His tactics, signings and laying players out of position scares me a little. We played a young centre half at left wing back on Tuesday, he got tore a new one and hauled off after 20 minutes, that'll do that lad a world of good. We're struggling for a LWB big time - Mitchell has played there, we've played Donohue (utility man) there and now this kid, all failed miserably but we are persisting with the wrong approach. We've got a lad from Man City on trial who can play there and I really hope we can afford to bring him in for 6 months to cover for Binom Williams. We don't really have an out and our RWB either tbh, we've played Wiseman, Barry and McGinn there (all can play RB but going forward you'd question them).

I think MOST of our fans are realistic about where we are at currently and it isn't a position to be troubling the promotion places.

I think it is very tongue in cheek and shouldn't be taken at face value at all, for the most part.

My first thought when I saw the kid on trial at left back was called Plummer, was "Wonder if he's any relation to Calvin Plummer?"

Does anyone know if he is?

Dunno but I've heard that he's good at shoring up leaky defences.

Apparently she claims it was tongue in cheek, and it's a copy of some JFK campaign video from 1960 something, because she studied his popularity campaign when she did Politics at Durham University.
The fact she has to keep explaining that it's a mickey take copy of a JFK campaign says it all really. People aren't old enough to remember that bollocks even if it wasn't the most cringeworthy thing on the face of the earth.
Thank you, I totally missed that it was tongue in cheek. It felt like a number of negative stereotypes, I was looking for positive reasons to support her - there were some but not enough. If she wanted to ape JFK why not wear a dark suit against a grey background, wear make-up and be tanned and have an opponent who looked shifty, was ill, did not use make up and had a grey suit and a seven o-clock shadow. That is a more famous communications example involving JFK (and Milhous Nixon).

But in short using a technique from the television age and transferring it to the digital is always going to be problematic.

Our CEO and chairman get mocked by pretty much every other clubs supporters. However, they do a great job for our football club and the criticism clearly spurs them on. I reckon there'd be few, to no, clubs at this level who wouldn't take them and their passion and commitment in a heartbeat.

Long may they reign. We love em here.

Whether it's good or bad taste they get the agenda set around Mansfield and we're moving in the right direction....
I was not saying it was in good or bad taste, just I did not get the joke. It seems to have been based on a very narrow knowledge-base of what JFK did. To paraphrase that first semester philosophy question, is a joke no one gets still a joke?

Shall we get this resurrected then ahead of the game Saturday?

We look a different side under JL and have probably the best striker in the league. We can't defend and have a keeper that makes everyone else panic so I suspect there will be goals, they seem to be following us around.

Not idea what to expect, can't think about losing to this lot but they are one of the top 6 sides in the league despite a shaky start so i'd take a point now.

Dennis is a great goal poacher and very clever in the box, but I don't think I'd class him as the best all round striker in the league.

That being said, you always have a chance in games if you have someone like him up front.

I suppose it's going to be one of those games where the away side will come and park the bus and we'll have to try and unlock them.

Last nights 4-0 win at Port Vale was pleasing with how we played in the 2nd half, won 5 in a row, unbeaten 9, lost 1 in 9 home games this season and have won 4 out of 4 early KO's this season, que the 1-0 Chesterfield win!

Kristian Dennis is clearly a good player and we're going to have to keep a keen eye on him, but other than him it's hard to see another position where a Chesterfield player would get into our starting XI, win the midfield battle and we should be alright - hopefully Mellis will start.

Looks like we're heading for a good crowd for it as well, the Mansfield folk seem to have found an appetite to come and mock our beleaguered friends, though like Port Vale I suspect lower midtable will soon become their home now they seem to have found someone who has half an idea of what they're doing.

Clearly a much better team than Chesterfield this season but anything can happen on Derby day, I don’t like the fact we are unbeaten in like 9 games either makes you superstitious these sort of games!

Mansfield will be clear favourites and rightfully so. We're trending in the right direction though and have goals in us. McCourt, Reed, Hird have all come on a bundle under Jack. JBW coming back and Rowley getting back to his pre injury form are plusses. Evatt is playing some of the best football in his career, at his age. We've been playing some lovely stuff lately, we just need to fix the problem at the back. We leak silly goals, just look at last night. Dominated for 90 mins but it was still squeaky bum time. I can't see us going and trying to shut up shop, just for that reason. We can't keep teams out, and Anyon worries everyone. I think this is over 3.5 goals bet guaranteed.

I have more confidence than I did a few months ago, but we're still big underdogs. I don't think anyone in this league scares this squad at the moment though, they seem full of it

Should be a decent enough game, although i don't think we'll try and play much football to be honest. Evans will see this game as must not lose.

Sounds like Chesterfield's defence will give us chances, which is good news with the form Rose & Hemmings are in.

Could be something like a 2-2 draw i think.

We won't be parking any buses anywhere, other than the handful in the car park carrying the pensioners. We cant defend so won't even attempt to set up like that. We will come and have a go, which means we will probably concede but i'd like to think in Dennis we have a striker who if we give him a chance he will take it.

It's a shame that Chesterfield couldn't sell out for 1650 for their main derby, but many Mansfield folk secretly thought they wouldn't after the laughable 1300 that went to county.

Maybe a chairman stuffing the club over (something were well aware of) has finally taken its toll.

The messages on bobs board on how they'd need 509 or so in our ends due to lack of tickets in our "pathetic away end" are someone embarrassing now.
