Lincoln MK and Bury the best 3 sides by a distance. FGR to win the playoffs. Or Colchester if they can regain some form.
Not really are they? I mean...the league table suggests its actually pretty close.

It's too difficult to call I think. If you only based your opinion on what you'd seen (which most do) then we'd think Mansfield, Bury and Lincoln were playoff chasing standard, Colchester average to poor mid-table, FGR and Tranmere good enough for playoffs, MK for automatics, Grimsby and Exeter to join them and Oldham going down.

MK Dons
Exeter
Grimsby
---------------
Tranmere
FGR
Lincoln
Bury
---------------
Mansfield

There you go, my top 8 prediction based purely upon performances against us.

Living in hope we can revamp the squad and make a second half of the season charge for the play offs.

Unlikely and improbable but not impossible.

Lincoln and Mansfield just seem too damn consistent at picking up points and rescuing games. Bury a bit like that too.

I reckon..

1. Lincoln - 91 pts
2. Mansfield - 87 pts
3. MK - 86 pts
-------------------
4. Bury (playoff winners) - 81 pts
5. Carlisle - 78 pts
6. Colchester - 77 pts
7. Exeter - 77 pts

A good shout. A few seasons ago we beat Bradford 4-1 in February and they looked dead and buried. We were in a playoff place looking at the autos. They went on a helluva run and went up via the playoffs, we finished 9th or 10th after collapsing including losing 4-0 to Chesterfield.

One team usually comes through the pack, it could be you

Our home form which is the best in the league is the reason we are 3rd, our away form in average at best.

Next 10 games is massive for us, we undoubtedly have the hardest final 10 games of any team.

We need to be inside the playoff positions after 36 games if we’re to be in there come May. A lot of that will depend on if Banks and Perkins can start playing the through balls Norwood has been thriving off and if this new left winger we are signing can balance the side; all our width coming through Jake Caprice on the right, who to be fair is an excellent attacking wing back at this level.

It all depends on who signs who and who you can hang onto would imagine if Norwood goes he will take some replacing same with us with surridge Will Exeter find a replacement for Stockley The picture will be clearer at the end of January

It may be we saw the same game from different perspectives.

Either way, Flitcroft is doing a good job and I wasn't expecting that, based on the finish at the end of last season.

However, there are so many clubs who can turn you over in this league, a blip in form can soon see a team drop quickly.

Going to be a good run in to the end of the season.

Was very little to choose between the teams tbh. Would have been unfair on us had Lincoln won, and we came back and got the point we deserved.

Their pacey winger who they kept passing it to is still somewhere in matt Preston’s back pocket, he took him to the cleaners

Though from Lincoln’s perspective it would have been annoying to let the lead slip. Like last season when Lincoln got the leveller at the death, annoying for us but ultimately deserved by Lincoln on the night

Colchester are shit though!

They won't even make the play offs.

If Bowman settles in quick and we get Hiram Boateng fit again before february (unfortunately thats a big if,) we may have a tilt at getting back in the auto spots.

If Boateng stays out until March and Bowman doesnt hit the ground running we could fade away too much.

Our next few away fixtures will be the key to whether we'll look like challenging for the title or challenging for 3rd come the end of the season. Bury, Grimsby, Exeter and Carlisle are our next four trips, and I can't call any of them considering our last away win was at Crawley on the first week of November.

Yeah, I thought Lincoln and MKD were nailed on to both get auto spots but after recent activity and that Bury result at the weekend it's starting to look like 3 out of 4 as opposed to 2 definite plus 1 from the rest. I do however think Lincoln are still almost all but nailed on and it's MK that will be more threatened by Bury and Stags.

Our next 3 are Colchester A, Tranmere H and FGR A. If we can come away with at least 6 then I’d be delighted after that we have a relatively favourable run of games in Feb.

Anyone got that real league table thing? Be interested to see what points is usually enough for 3rd. From memory I’d say about 84/85?

Our current points to games takes us to 82 and we’re 3rd (with a game in hand on some)

Just about - pretty sure I read 86 is the average for automatic.

4th place have finished on the following (so obviously 1 more point or even GD)
2018 - 80pts
2017 - 77pts
2016 - 85pts
2015 - 84pts
2014 - 76pts
2013 - 76pts
2012 - 83pts

Currently Lincoln would finish on 92, MK 83, Mansfield 82, Bury 80

We are up to 4th now with 7 wins in 8 games, keeping us up there with such massive clubs like Bury and Mansfield that have been bank rolled, oh and they're two teams who we have beaten this season by the way.

But I guess we will still be overlooked as promotion/play off contenders by you lot.
