Spot on - Gaydamak said he'd cover all the wages and was writing cheques for millions of pounds a month then suddenly stopped writing them with Campbell, Crouch, Defoe, James on 80k plus a week
Just a coincidence that the French Government froze his dad's assets at the same time eh?! I remember Sasha's press conference when het took full ownership and said he couldn't compete financially with the other chairmen in the league. A little later we're signing players like you've mentioned.

Everyone knew who really owned the club but the PL were happy to go along with it whilst we were solvent.

Just to add insult to injury we have been given 2 weeks notice on the premier League deadline day, and we have to listen to XYZ club has signed XYZ player for £50 zillion on a wage of £300k per week. Ok we know the world keeps turning with or without Bury FC but it's still annoying!

None of us matter. I've been hearing, this week, that football season starts on Friday night.

Could be worse you could be a United fan burning your shirt on Twitter because you’ve only spent £130 million quid.

Makes me sick.

Good luck Bury, could easily have been the Vale under Norman last year (when he told the EFL he’d potentially liquidate us they just said “we are disappointed to here that!)

Hopefully you can somehow pull through get some decent owners and be sustainable and stable. That’s surely firstly what most fans in the real world of non megabucks leagues want.

The only good that can come from this as I've said is a phoenix club.
Going through the leagues watching something exciting happen again. Wimbledon and Hereford fans know it well.
And a chance to rid your club of these leeches and no hopers.

Looks to be the only option at this point, don't think at the point they are savable, EFL giving them 14 days just delays the inevitable.

Is it feasible Bury FC continues in its current form but goes down to say Northern Premier?

Surely not. The npl would have a nightmare accommodating 25th team and all the fixtures etc are sorted.
I think the rules are step 6 or 7 for reform the same as Hereford and Wimbledon.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Planning for a Phoenix team seems to be in progress with AFC Bury Ltd submitted to company's house and due to be ratified today.
A year off to plan and then for gods sake run it proper.

Sad times for Bury fans. Probably won't be the last to go down the route looking at the state of a few of the clubs down here, ourselves included.

Bury fans, you have strongly suggested that Dale is only interested in the assets, namely the ground. Sadly, it looks like the EFL will kick you out, and focus now is the Phoenix. If the other clubs sued Dale for loss of income and won, could the assets be sold to pay them? No real consolation, but at least he might not walk away with money.

Any solicitors on here, is suing possible/likely to succeed?

As nice as it would be to see that happen, it never would. Also I believe the majority of the loans are secured on the ground?

Isn't there a chance that an outside bid might be made to buy the club and whilst there is limited time to complete a sale (based on the 14 days) the EFL would then have to consider that buyout ? Whilst Dale says he doesn't want to sell, faced with losing it all or accepting an alternate bid surely he'll have to sell rather than look to strip the assets, failing that, is likely to all of a sudden show that he has the £1.6 Million secured?

They would if they were dealing with Noblot but they are dealing with Bury who have tried their patience o the limit.
There is the theory that a buyer is in the wings and the EFL are putting the squeeze on Grizzly to sell and all background work on potential buyer has already been done. Can somebody catch that pig please before it flys away!!

It was step 9 for us! The point about rediscovering the joy of watching football for football's sake is true though. Nobody would wish starting again as a choice but I enjoyed those years progressing through non-league more than being in the Premier League and, if I'm perfectly honest, more than I enjoy watching us now. Give me a trip to Merstham any day, on what was practically a park pitch where their chairman spent all day hawking cheese rolls that his wife had made the night before, than a routine trip up north in League One.

We had a relatively affluent fanbase though, and an embryonic infrastructure developed through campaigning to stop the move which meant that we were ready to go the moment the idea emerged. I've no idea really whether Bury's fanbase are in the same position.

It was step 8 at the time. They moved the goalposts by introducing the Conny North and South a couple of years later.

The first 9 nine years were an absolute blast, the subsequent 8 not so much so although I wouldn't want us to go back to non-league.

I seem to remember one of my mates stumping up something like £500 when you started. By the way he has created an AFC Wimbledon flag for when he goes with his son to England games. I won’t spoil it, but if you see it, you’ll know it’s him - so middle class. The long winded point I am making is that I’b be surprised if Bury economically has the same level of financial supporters. Mind you, maybe two of the Salford owners might want to support their team of birth and that their dad is closely associated with.

If both Bury and noblot go to the wall, their will be a lot of clubs, and possibly some season ticket holders, wanting someone to pay compensation. I am sure the EFL will say it is nothing to do with them. So who pays?

I don’t know, but I’d assume they count as creditors?

Yeah, that's what I mean. I think there was a survey done of Premier League fans' income just before we started which gave us the highest per capita disposable income, or at least very near the top. Of course it took a hell of a lot more than money - if anyone ever counted the volunteer hours it would be hundreds of thousands collectively and most of our fans aren't minted - but there's no denying it matters to have some big hitters when needed.

I’m assuming he means the cost of a season ticket

Compensation for what?
Season ticket will be priced per match and there will be one less. Also all the fans who have booked hotels for Bury away plus fans who travel a distance and book hotels for home games would have booked than way in advance.

There will be no one to claim of surely.

Surely the EFL are the ones who should be compensating. They should never have let Bury or Bolton register for this season if they hadn't got it sorted when the fixtures were put together.

I agree with you, but I can't see it sticking. With travel agents going bump you have abta to claim from legally, but the EFL have no obligation to reimburse other than from a moral standpoint, therefore I think nothing will happen.

Don't the Club's have to provide a bond at the beginning of every season? Does it form part of that?

Loss of earnings, especially if it means two clubs. In part this might be claims back by season tickets holders, but more likely general sales on the day such as food etc. Budgets are based on 23 home games not 22 or 21.
On a related issue, it would interesting to see what happens if a club gets less income but because their outgoings do not fundamentally change they go over the fair play freehold.

The people who run football have no morals at all, so they'll do sod all and pass the blame even though they are the ones who allow crooks and chancers to take control of the clubs
