You need to find £1.6m by the end of May?!
We have been saying we are deep in the shit.
ONLY chance to survive (apart from maybe a billionaie with little brain) is to get promoted, go into (another) admin and take the 12 point hit with a league to spare.
It stinks for other clubs and small traders that would lose money.
My club is a disgrace.

Surely the 12 point deduction should happen this season

Apparently there is a deadline (end of March?) as to when points can be taken off.

Any time after then it’s considered unfair to punish a club that far into a season and therefore gets taken off the following season.

I don't disagree either, it sucks.
It may be the only way my club can survive so I would hold me nose and support it, just as you would if your own club was as batshit crazy as Bury.

I don’t disagree. One of us, FGR, yourselves or MK can consider themselves unfortunate if we miss out.
Knowing the EFL they would just let a club stay up in L1 and bugger the smaller clubs (probs bratfurt even if the finish bottom)

It was mainly done that way to stop teams tactically going into administration (Think Leeds did it when already down for example so the deduction didn't really affect anything.)

Boston Utd tried to do it half way though their last game of the season one year, when it had become clear they were going down.

They went into admin 2 minutes before the end of their last game which they had needed to win to stay up (at least it stopped us finishing bottom ;)). I think this was what made the league bring in the current rules.

I'm sure nobody will be surprised to hear that this dodgy shit was done whilst Steve Evans was manager! :told:

I'm surprised this fred hasn't migrated back to the League 1 page yet. In fact I'm surprised anyone bothered to move it down to League 2 in the first place since we were always favourites to go up.

Rumours over on ming central that Sharpe (ex Wigan chairman) is in line to be part of the takeover bid. We could do with the takeover happening sooner rather than later since we need to see what sort of team/manager/squad we are going to have next season. The court date is also looming ever nearer, though I'd expect that will be adjourned if takeover talks are still ongoing as per the Bolton precedent earlier in the season.

Now reported that Dale has turned bids down for the club. Seems the spiteful twat is actually planning on running us into the ground.

Further update for those interested. The court case on Wednesday was adjourned with supposedly 3 interested parties looking at taking over, one of which had made a firm offer on May 9th. Its unclear as to whether this was one of the bids which Dale turned down. Playing staff have received all wages for March, but not anything yet for April. Tom Miller and Nicky Adams have tweeted their disgust at the situation, and Nicky gave a very emotional interview with the BBC last week.

Then in typical Bury FC fashion as things were starting to look slightly optimistic (regarding a takeover) Forever Bury (supporters trust) issued the following statement at 10pm last night:

Posted 14 hours ago (edited)
Forever Bury Statement, 17th May 2019

A meeting to discuss the current status at Bury Football Club has been held between representatives from Forever Bury and Bury Football Club officials. Following the meeting and the continued non-payment of players and staff, Forever Bury continues to have grave concerns over the current situation. As a consequence, Forever Bury will be consulting with relevant regulatory authorities, as well as the English Football League and the Football Association to outline its concerns. In addition, Forever Bury have set in motion arranging a meeting with Supporters Direct and their legal representatives, to solicit advice on what will be the most appropriate action to take as the Supporters’ Trust of Bury Football Club.

Forever Bury are unable to make further comment on the matters in question until it has consulted with the previously mentioned parties. However, further clarification of the situation will be issued when advice deems it prudent.

So fuck knows what we are supposed to make of that.

In football news, Lowe has obviously been linked with Plymouth in the last week or so, though I doubt he'll want to move that far south, and the retained list is still nowhere to be seen, unsurprisingly since we have no idea of budgets for next season, or indeed if we'll even exist next season.

May I take this opportunity to further point out that this fred still needs promoting back to League 1.

This really should have happened weeks ago. If there is no movement this week then i really hope they are all trying to get a move away. Having absolutly no contact from the club, chairman and no one in the media giving a shit because we've never been in the premier league means its hard to know which way this is going to go.

I think the problem is with Bury it’s just another ‘here we go again’ it’s endless with that shambolic club.

All seems a bit of a mess, didn't Dale only take over a few months ago with the best of intentions? Can't remember exactly what the Bury fans thoughts were on Dale but it seemed like even when he said he didn't realise how bad the financial situation was they were fairly forgiving because he had saved them from Day.

So now Dale is as bad if not worse than Day, where do Bury keep finding these people?

It reminds me of the sequence of events we had with Knighton, comes in, talks the talk, things look good, a few people are suspicious of his smooth talking but on the pitch all is well, then something snaps and the owner turns on the club and goes from ridiculously ambitious to actively trying to destroy the club; except its unfolded much quicker and just seems to loop round over and over again. If there was ever a club at this level that need to be fan-owned then it's Bury.

Yep and who's letting bad owner after bad owner at this club? The people who run this game. They are as much to blame as us.

Our fans would bloody soon turn on ourselfes if ever a club DID NOT need to be run by the fans its us.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Decent, honest business with adequate funds to run a football club don't exist anymore, not long term anyway. Football clubs in the lower leagues are bad investments. They require a hell of a lot of time and effort, which anyone with a successful business won't want to get involved in. Then you factor in that most just lose money hand over fist and you can see why the only options left are those at the dodgy end of the scale.

You can see why so many con merchants with no real funds or intentions of longevity turn up wanting to buy clubs. It's why you lot keep attracting these kinds of people. And whilst people rip on you for it happening frequently, it's happened elsewhere, just not with so much noise. I fear for the long term future of a lot of league clubs. The life is slowly being drained out of clubs and I fear we could see plenty of clubs go to the wall in the next 20 years.

Regardless of what people think about how Bury earned promotion, I do hope for their long suffering fans that they can find the kind of owner who isn't a shyster and they can have some off field stability for a few years.

All,

WITHOUT PREJUDICE

It is with sadness I find myself having to be wasting my time addressing rumours, internet trolls and gossip spread by people with agenda instead of doing all I can saving our Club as promised.

My initial reaction was to give all this media rubbish the credibility it deserves and not reply however I have been talked into a statement. Sorry for the without prejudice but necessary given pending legal actions.

Original Statement: I said clearly I would support as I could our football side and our being promoted with both our Ladies and Gents side validates that, I said I would do all I could to save the Club which would have closed in November last year, we're now in May so that’s working and is ongoing.

Fact: The Club was bust due to the previous owner’s tenure in fact turning out as it unfolded to be far worse than anyone could have known. NOBODY would have taken it on, I did and am being vilified by the same few trolls/persons with agenda for sorting a mess that I did not create.

Non Attendance at the Club: I thought it common knowledge I have an incurable form of Leukaemia as well as acute osteoarthritis, this renders me unable to leave my bed let alone home some days, I do however work tirelessly till all hours on my computer and phone to save our Club.

Regret: I didn’t clear out day one all the surplus staff from the Stewart Day era who are causing all this unpleasantness with their internet troll accomplices at our Club garnering there last chance of 5 minutes of perceived fame before they are removed and long forgotten.

Wages: I think I must make this abundantly clear, this is a horrible situation to be in, of course everybody needs to be paid but the Club cannot afford the level of employees it has, there is no magic wand here, certain people if they genuinely care about the Club would have left long ago knowing they were not adding value just draining a dead corpse. I was talked into using a local HR firm to deal with laying people off, they dragged the matter on some considerable weeks in doing so further hurting the Club incurring further wages for non-productive people it cannot pay, before saying “our business has been threatened if we do this job” they then sent the money back we paid to do the job, tells a story don’t you think. I can state I have now got a firm that will get on with the job in hand.

Staff: I hear all this rubbish about not being paid for months, that’s what it is RUBBISH wages have been paid every month in increments as we could (given our Bank is frozen) its all lies/propaganda being spread to cause unrest by certain people and I’m told who peddle it now on the radio, if the work I have been doing finalises by Fri/Tue all staff will be paid in full with NOTHING outstanding or owed, then our HR company can carry out what’s been needed months ago. So to those who the cap fits, enjoy your fame for the small window you have but be careful what you say as our Lawyers are ready and indeed other employers are watching your un-professional un-truthful actions. Finally I think it disgraceful that people who have been paid monthly have set up food banks, these were created for people in desperate need not to further propaganda you should be ashamed.

To the genuine Staff I thank you sincerely for your help and support.

Players: Firstly may I thank the Manager and the Players for their performance on the field you have made our fans proud. Once I realised the extent of the troubles and it was clear that making wages would not be possible I had talks with the League and the PFA where I explained the problems we were encountering, initially it was felt the Club could take out a loan but subsequently the PFA’s Lawyers vetoed that due to the perilous nature of the Club, they then offered to pay the players direct until we sorted the Clubs problems, this is where we are. Ideal, far from it but the tragic consequence of the actions of others. We are applying to the Court to release our bank again and that with the league’s help and season ticket sales should allow us to initially pay the balance owed to the players then repay the PFA for their very kind help.

Player Statement: I think the above addresses the truth of this matter without spin.

As for Contracts our very able Company Secretary dealt with this matter with Ryan Lowe so unsure why that was brought up?

As for not caring why do you think I am working 5am to 8pm and later every day, TO SORT THIS MESS I DID NOT MAKE. Not the actions of someone who doesn’t care

I find it amazing when I’m told the players don’t need to speak to you yet I get called for doing exactly that, however I’m confused if he felt he needed clarity why did he not drop me an email asking the questions he needed answering, I’d have thought that more professional (but less in the media) and easier than going on the radio or doing statements with people who can’t help him?

It is my priority along with the winding up order to settle the playing staff as fast as we can and I can only apologise for the delay it’s not what I thought would happen, but if it can go wrong it will at Bury.

We want this resolving as fast as we can and I can assure the players it’s the last thing I want to break up our winning team I hope you can allow us to get the past cleared so next season there are no reoccurrences of the last few months, only our cut backs and prudent financial controls will achieve that

Our Manager: Firstly thank you Ryan for your work with others to achieve promotion in these difficult times.

Leaving the Club, clearly not something we want to see but Ryan is a young man starting on his management career and who are we to stop his trajectory if he wants this, Plymouth asked to speak to him we sanctioned but as far as I know he is still with Bury

Possible sale: We have had interest, unsure of what Mr Adams relates to but I know nothing of it, we have had one offer from a Canadian Company that is not suitable and rather onerous and I am in talks with two others one of which I feel would be a great fit, I will report if this progresses to a deal but for now it’s just talks. However I can confirm interested parties are concerned at the media/internet diatribe, well done you are jeopardising the sale of the Club

Thanks

To Shaun Harvey at the league you will be missed you knew first-hand the running of a Club and the plight of owners, thanks to Nick and Tad for your help appreciated

Thanks to Simon Barker at the PFA for your help and support

May I thank the fellow Chairman’s for the support I have received they know better than anyone what a thankless task it is, a matter that surely needs addressing

And our suppliers, thanks for your continued support.

Finally

Do not believe the few, it’s neither the truth or in the best interest of the Club, I will save the Club and pass on to the right person when they appear to be assured.

Regards

Steven D Dale

Chairman

Bellend.

I'm baffled. Did he not do due dilligence on the clubs accounts. Did he not get an accurate estimate of how much the staffs wages were, both on and off the field?

He wants sympathy for taking this on, but the fact he didn't know the scale of the problem just shows he's an idiot. Also, ranting and raving in a long, poorly worded character assault piece is hardly going to win support either.

What a total head case.

And so it begins
Nicky Adams has announced he’s leaving crisis club Bury.
The 32-year-old, who has had three spells with Shakers having started his career at Gigg Lane, has been an outspoken critic of owner Steve Dale during the club’s on-going off-field turmoil.
Having returned in the summer of 2018, the midfielder signed a new contract in March seemingly extending his stay into next season as he helped the club make an immediate return to League One.
But in an emotional social media post announcing his departure, Adams claims that it has been declared null and void by the Football League.
The Shakers are due back in the High Court on June 19 over a winding-up petition.
“Very sad that I have to write this message but I’ll always deal with things head on,” Adams posted.
“I signed a new contract in March which I was buzzing about only for the Football League to reject it and send it back.
“What’s worse, is I was only told about this the week after the season had finished as no-one informed me or the gaffer until then.
“I spoke out the best I could about the chaos going on behind the scenes at the club and people’s families are the most important thing.
“Unfortunately I will be leaving Bury FC and going onto a new challenge.
“I just want to say a massive thank you to the manager and all his staff and my team mates who are friends for life for the chance to be part of an unbelievable season that I’ll never forget.
“We made history and no-one can ever take that from us.
“Shakers fans, all I can say is thank you.
“I started here as a boy and I’m glad we could all share some fantastic memories together.
“I’ll forever be a fan of this great club.”
