Shrimps v Vegans: Morecambe v FGR

[FGR Stroud]

Match between two teams just outside relegation position.

FGR moving up table with four consecutive home wins although with seven consecutive away defeats.

Morecambe have had mixed results during that period.



This will be third consecutive game that FGR can compete a home and away win double after Coventry and Stevenage.

On Oakey’s prediction table both FGR predictas have plumped for an away win while the Morecambe predicta has gone for a home victory. Probably end up as a draw!!



Morecambe must be complimented in that they have prepared a vegan menu as part of their hospitality package. A few weeks ago Carlisle did same and some of their own fans said it was excellent.

By and large the FGR fans are not vegan but they have all accepted the club’s philosophy and stance on issue. Besides it is only two hours a week every fortnight and the food at TNL is very good.

One of the many good things about Tuesday was winning despite late withdrawal of Lee Collins and Alex Bray. Expect them back if it was just a bug so in theory even stronger going into this. Away form has been poor but this is surely the match we have to turn that round in, anything here is a big stride to safety.

Back in the UK for this one, normally when I'm away we're shit so Tuesday made a nice change. Starting to feel a lot more bullish about our survival prospects, get a result here and we can start dreaming of 16th.

We need to build on our undoubted improved form. This represents an opportunity to get a result away for once, a point would be good, we have some difficult fixtures in March, so we need to get points on the board now.
There are very few easy games in this league. We need to show the same character as Tuesday if we go behind, a bit more resilience and we have a good chance of survival. Not counting any chickens yet.
