2nd vs 5th, what do people think? Both managers up for the manager of the month award.
personally i think this will be a confident and composed performance by the tics. Followed by an away sell out of over 1,600.
Think we are too strong and will come out 3-1 winners with Toney, powell and Jacobs the scorers.

Not that long ago when Wigan were perennial strugglers in the 4th tier and did well to get 1600 fans at Springfield Park until Dave Whelan came along. I remember standing on that grass bank at the top near the shed when we won 5-2 in a League 3 match back in 1994.

Will be interesting to see if Toney has learnt to stay on his 2 feet rather than his a*se.

We never had an average as low as 1600. It dipped significantly for 5 years late 80s early 90s as the club almost went into liquidation.
Perennial 4th division strugglers? 1 season struggling in the 4th tier in our entire history disagrees with that. Until the financial problems we were an established 3rd tier side, narrowly missing out on promotion to the 2nd tier and spent most of our football league era at the 3rd tier level prior to Whelans involvement.
We have spent as long in the Premier League as we have done in the 4th tier.

So don't let the truth get in the way of your made up bullshit.

You averaged 1748 in 1995, not quite 1600 I know but still very low.

10 times bigger than Oxford, Posh and Shrewsbury? Next joke fella.

I don't know why you can't embrace the fact that you're down where you belong with the rest of us peasant clubs.

Or maybe we've evolved and we're not as small as some people would have you believe. We're far from a big club but at this level we're certainly one of the biggest.

Not sure how fans of Peterborough, Oxford and Scunthorpe can mock attendances, you should really look at the history of yours. Here check the below.

Lance Stoe 'pathetically low', aye because Scunthorpe have never had average below 2000...Oh...

http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/englandcontent.htm

Surprised to see Bradford averaging below 3000 not long before our low, Blackburn and Charlton dropping to around 5000. Wasn't that long ago that Portsmouth were getting 8000 which for a huge city is surprising. Yet every other club that has had a dip in attendances over certain periods don't get a mention.

Very recently Brighton got 2000 average attendance now everyone praises their near 30000 support....Yet when we went up to 20000 we got criticised for it increasing.

You'd be astonished at how low Chelsea and Newcastles attendances dipped to in the 80s/90s, to be fair every club seems to at some point in not too distant history have had a real terrible dip in attendances at some point.

We're a bigger club than Oxford, Posh, Shrewsbury and Scunthorpe put together end of story. We should be dispatching this sort of riff raff comfortably so I'll say 0-3 Latics. Wish I could be there to see the demolition but I have a date with Noel Gallagher. Safe trip all.

Misguided if you think you are a bigger club than Oxford. If you think you are a big club at this level then think again. No one is going to sell out because it's Wigan

Predicting nonsense 3-0 wins? Nice idea pal. Where did you get it from?

As embarrassing as the eight fans you'll take tomorrow.

I think I speak for most L1 fans when I say no one really cares how big Wigan are, thinking that we do is probably why you're all such a great target. And no one likes a serious post about attendances.

Brighton averaging low crowds when they finished second bottom of what is now League 2 and they played at Gillingham. Noone could have envisaged that happening...

Clearly you do, given the fact that you pop up at every mention of Wigan.

Sorry, not intentional. 'Pathetic' is a bit strong though, your weak attendances must have really riled you.

On the second point, I take the piss out of all L1 teams equally. Some are just more precious than others.

Fair play Shrewsbury deserved the 3 points. Did a job on us today.
could do with 3 points at Charlton Tuesday.

They have a team of grafters that work and support each other, with a manager bringing the best out of them. No billy big bollocks. Could be the surprise package of the season.
