Let's see some recent examples of this violence, then.
You made a comment. I made a post which blows your idiotic statement out of the water....said post coming straight from Police Scotland. If you don't believe them then that is your problem....contact them & make an arse of yourself with them like you do on here. You want to see 'recent' examples ? Go search for them yourself mate....I aint no gofur for the forum clown. I'm sure you could if you had the desire.

Do you really think Rangers don't have a nasty, violent element amongst their fans? Astonishing levels of ignorance there.
For fucks sake....you really are dim or your memory is on a downwards spiral (probably both). If you wish have a look back at other topics & you will see that I have on several occasions criticised and stated that like almost every other club Rangers have an element of undesirables within the support (& again NO before you ask....find it for yourself)....no ignorance from me but you...well you are totally devoid of actual reality with most points.

Well, he was caught blatantly lying after his first league press conference.
NO he wasn't....I explained that when you first uttered that ridiculous comment.....He said 'I believe. That's just my opinion'. Unlike yourself when you tried to big yourself (during the WC) up by stating emphatically (telling porkies) something about Ibrahimovic that Bilo blew out of the water and showed you up for the muppet you are....Mr Conjecture indeed.....If you wish to discuss a subject get your facts right and desist trying to put over something as true when it is actually a load of shite!

I posted about a game from two weeks ago. I can't even remember the last time St Mirren were involved in any violence that didn't come during a game with one of the Old Firm.

Do you really think Rangers don't have a nasty, violent element amongst their fans? Astonishing levels of ignorance there.

Well, he was caught blatantly lying after his first league press conference.

Apart from that, he hasn't done too badly. No doubt the next heads gone moment is just around the corner. He's really not the brightest, which is why he appeals so easily to Rangers and Liverpool fans.

I do remember reading an article after he viciously assaulted that DJ that, around Liverpool, if Steven Gerrard asked you to do something, you did it. And he was so shocked someone didn't do exactly what he wanted when he asked.

Which, it has been be said, is pathetic beyond words for grown men to sycophant to some footballer to that extent

Whilst I don't expect people to read through my posts with the efficiency or indeed attention to detail of a proof reader ,I would insist ' at the very least' your retorts to be conducive with rational thought. I never said Gerrard was perfect 'what manager is 'I said he's exactly what Rangers need ,I also stated he wasn't the most affable personality you could ever meet but again you chose to omit this detail from the agenda you drive.

So for the sake of avoiding becoming embroiled in a rather futile and dispirited debate I will do us both a solid and state I have a low tolerance for the sufferance of fools.

Former Falkirk manager Gary Holt is to be appointed the new Livingston manager tomorrow apparently
Got to to be honest I don't know a lot about Holt but read he's been out of work sine June '16, however I hope he does well with Livingston (still hate their pitch btw....). I think the more intriguing aspect of the Livingston managerial saga is the ongoing dispute over the signing of and removal of Kenny Miller. It would be interesting to know actual detail.

Rangers have a long and detailed history of violence around Scotland and Europe.

But of course, it is never their fault.

The ten year old girl hit with a bottle at Ibrox definitely started it.

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/3072003/st-mirren-rangers-fan-bottle/

These incidents happen pretty much every week. Astonishingly, virtually no violence exists outwith the Old Firm.

Yes sadly Rangers do have that reputation. I remember the Manchester Europa League Cup Final. A young copper only just escaped with his life. There's a darkness about that club.

I wasn't there, I only know what was reported in the media and I certainly would not attempt to defend the disorder that went on. Yes there is a bad element within our support but the majority are law abiding people and I 'presume' the level of disorder was down to the fact that it was a European final and was attended by the overwhelmingly large number of fans you would not normally see. However there is no more 'a darkness' about our club than most of those who have played at that level or even domestically at one time or another. You only need to utilise You tube to ascertain that.

Another key punching mess referring to conversations that never happened.

But anyway, just sticking in 'I believe' or 'that's just my opinion' doesn't give you free reign to spout nonsense. Believing the earth is flat is an opinion, and nonsensical.

Gerrard stated something he couldn't form an opinion on unless he had been watching Rangers for years and he clearly hasn't.

It is an equivalent of a politician he is anti war because of seeing lots of frontline action in WW1. Nonsense, and deserving of ridicule.

But, anyway, Rangers demonstrably have a long and detailed reputation for violence spanning many countries. Even their most blinkered fans accept this - not hide under "not all fans", "small tiny element", "all clubs are like this".

No they aren't, Rangers have a bad reputation worldwide and rightly so.

Their sensible fans accept this and despite the bigotry and violence associated with the club. You're more an apologist and justifier.

With the exception of Gerrard, it seems.

Do you think he is as intelligent as Lampard? Or is he closer to Rooney?

I'll be going to my first ever Old Firm clash on 2nd Sept. When I say a darkness I mean the financial skulduggery that brought the club down in 2010

I think you need to open the blinds and let some light in fella ,if only to see how inane the structuring of the above question is !

Absolutely no sensible content or substance to your usual inane ramblings. The points I made/make are always pertinent unlike your idiotic comments. Go back and read what I actually said....not what you want to believe I said. Conversations that never happened ? An apologist & justifier....oh for fucks sake. You simply cannot accept the truth. Why anyone, & I include myself, even bothers attempting to have any discussion with a fucking imbecile like you is truly the $64,000 question.

Meant to add....you been on to Police Scotland yet ?.......

I'll be supporting the authentic Glasgow team. That's the one that didn't go bust and doesn't create mayhem across Europe.

You are aware that the team you will be cheering on are most certainly not squeaky clean when it comes to fans behaviour in Europe. I don't wish to turn this into a tit for tat scenrio....just letting you know that everything that occurs cannot be laid at our door.

I wasn't expecting such a reasoned reply.

What I do detest is this sectarian nonsense. Why can't people just love each other regardless of their affiliations. I still don't understand why the Blue half of Glasgow still want to celebrate a massacre that took place 320 odd years ago.

Why exactly ? I'm a very reasonable person mate. I treat people as I would expect to be treated but if I get shit & utter nonsense thrown at me or my club I will indeed reply in kind.

As do I, loathe it tbh. Unfortunately both Rangers and Celtic have had, still have and will always have a %age of supporters who revel in such utter claptrap.

As for your 2nd point, I know many Gers fans who have no truck with Orange Walks and actually believe they should be banned, however that would be on thin ice as councils would have to seriously look at other 'religious' (& certain groups which claim to be political) parades, marches in a similar vein.

Well that was some match at Fir Park today ending Motherwell 3 v 3 Rangers with Motherwell getting their 3rd and equalising goal with the last kick of the ball. It was end to end stuff for the full match and very entertaining. Motherwell took a very early lead but big Lafferty equalised but within a few minutes Motherwell were in front again & again it was Lafferty who equalised. Rangers took the lead near the end of the half with a fantastic counter and Ejaria scored with a fine shot. For some reason Rangers looked very nervous in the last 15 minutes and I was fucking gutted with that last kick of the ball goal. Captain Tavernier who is great at going forward is not so great at defending and again it showed as he lost his man who sneaked in to score. Finally, a calm & intelligent post match interview by Steven Gerrard considering the disappointment he must have felt at losing the lead right at the death.

Will you be at Celtic Park next week? Should be a real thermometer of where both teams are at. Celtic were winning today 1-0 last I looked, but they seem to be strangely lethargic. I like you Leo you seem a really decent chap.

No I won't be there mate. I no longer attend games and am basically an 'armchair' fan who now enjoys the mixture of both English and Scottish games available on tv. Aye Celtic game finished 1-0 and would you believe it, it was Boyata who scored.

As for next week, I'd love to see the Gers pull one out of the bag. They have certainly improved but are they ready for this one....Hmmm. The one bright spot is Celtic's defence has been very poor so far so hope fully Rangers can take advantage. No predictions from me...I'll take it as it comes.

Aye, not looking good for McCann & his men at the moment.
Na, they've just not kicked on at all under him. Something needs changing quickly, or else we'll be joining the Arabs...

On the other hand you have lost all of your matches by one goal and in each of them you have created several chances to score. It doesn't look like the team is a million miles away from being competitive.

That was a bloody nerve wracking 50 odd minutes yesterday after but eventually Rangers determination prevailed and we are into the group stages of the Europa League. Steven Gerrard has installed some attitude & work rate in this squad and all for the better compared to what we have had to witness in previous seasons. Gers went in front thanks to a fine goal by Ejaria who seems to be growing in his midfield position game by game however Ufa equalised then bloody Morelos again showed his petulance and was yellow carded twice in the same incident for his attitude towards the officials. I felt the worst at this point then when Flannagan received a 2nd yellow for jumping with his arm raised which 'brushed' against an opponent I felt, well worser than the worst........... Going by what I heard in the live Radio comments (not actual commentary) it was constant Ufa pressure but as the clock counted down, bit by bit the relief returned..........slowly! Anyway, the team done brilliantly to hang on and btw Goldson was a colossus and is forming a great central defensive partnership with the young lad Katic. Steven Gerrard has done a great job so far since coming to Ibrox. Long may it continue!

Celtic get 19 million from Lyon for Dembele.

Good fee for a player who it seems wanted out but not great timing ?

Good profit as only paid Fulham £500k for him. Spends too much time on treatment table for my liking.

Just back from Chapman's, Rutherglen after the Old Firm clash. The big question is/was have Rangers closed the gap on Celtic and in a word no they haven't. The 1-0 scoreline flattered Rangers as it could have been 4. The referee missed 2 possible sending's off in McGregors kick at Ajer and a foul by Morelos.. Celtic hit the woodwork several times. The most alarming aspect of it though was the disgraceful behaviour of a section of the 800 Rangers fans who kicked off big style at the end of the game. There would not be a Rangers player today who would dislodge a Celtic player.

Well, where to start....was I disappointed ? Of course, but not actually with the result more so the way we allowed Celtic to play in the first half mainly. I was actually quite surprised at how the midfield sat back and constantly allowed Celtic to play out from the back considering how the players in previous games have pressed opponents and have not given them time to settle on the ball and allowed them to pick their passes. By doing this it allowed Celtic more possession and let them get forward putting far more pressure on Rangers defensively and tbh we were lucky to go into halftime at 0-0. The only real chance we had was a shot by Ryan Jack but that went over. In short, our main theme for going forward was to lump the ball up the park hoping something would happen....it didn't! As RB said McGregor was lucky his kick at Ajer was not seen but I don't know if something went on during Ajer's challenge on our goalie. Second half was a bit better in as much as we played a bit better, moved the ball about and put more pressure on Celtic's defence Off the top of my head the two best chances fell to Morelos whose shot was saved by Gordon and Tavernier whose shot went wide. As for Celtic's goal, personally I though it was a foul on Jack, not for the coming together jumping for the ball with Rogic but what looked like a sneaky wee swipe by Rogic on Jack's ankle but it wasn't given by Collum and Celtic got on with it and quickly countered....it was a good one and resulted in Ntcham scoring. What really disappointed me with it was that Ejaria gave up the ghost in tracking Ntcham allowing him plenty free space whereas if he had kept going there was every possibility the goal could have been prevented. I certainly was not impressed with Christie's blatant dive just outside Rangers penalty box which resulted in Goldson being booked....Willie Collum was conned big time with that one. RB mentioned something about a section of Gers fans kicking off at the end of the game...tbh there was nowt on tv and I haven't heard or read anything about this but there were some Celtic fans out of order during the 2nd half pelting Barisic with coins and some other object as he went to take corners. Overall a well deserved win for Celtic and shows we still have a ways to go before we can think about challenging them but I have stated on numerous our main objective should be attaining 2nd spot before thinking about Celtic in these terms. We have managed to progress to the group stages of the Europa league and that in itself is a tremendous achievement. Things will get better for us I have no doubt & I think Celtic will see a different display when we meet them at Ibrox in December.

I think it's starting to be a physiological issue with some of the Rangers players, taking so many thumpings off them over the last 2 seasons has made them scared of playing any other way against the dirty bastards. The gap is still massive but it's closing somewhat with Celtic failing to back Rodgers and strengthen the side which has resulted in Europa League football, and Gerrard has no doubt improved some aspects of Rangers' play. If Rangers can get 2nd spot and close the points gap to Celtic, maybe win a domestic cup and put up a good fight in their European group then it will have been a successful first season for Gerrard.
